Right, I can't seem to find an answer over the vast interwebs, so I'm wondering;
How many battles are in this damn survival battle, and will they ever get to the point where they're actually tough? I quicksaved after 40, because I was bored to death. If it doesn't end, that would be horrible, since my team is simply ripping up all my opponents. Yay Rampie and Specsmence. Anyway, does it ever end, or should I just retire from the thing?

To make this thread worth its cyberspace, discuss all the different coloseums, your favorite, strategies (like they're needed), etc. After you answer my question of course. >_>

its 100 battles. And yes it keeps getting harder, from #40 - #100, all opponents have 4 pokemon, but are smarter each time. I got to about 60, then I had bad luck with the roulette, and lost.

And I really enjoyed the Sunny Park little battles. I love my SD Gligar, it rapes.

Towards the end it's 5, and after 70 they start bringing in legendaries. The only ubers I saw on my run were Lugia, Dialga and Palkia, but that doesn't mean they won't use more. (I can't remember if I saw a Kyogre in there or if I'm remembering something else.)

It is boring at first, but it gets very exciting towards the end when you realize that one fuckup will cost you several hours of your life. For doing it you get 15000 coupons and the Diamond Dust pass. Not much, but it's one more accomplishment, and a fairly big one at that.
