Hi guys! I’m new. Check out my cool Perish Trap + Trick Room team I’m running. Any advice would be amazing, especially with EV spreads.

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick Room
- Perish Song
- Taunt
- Protect
This is the Pokémon that I wanted to base the team around due to her amazing support movepool and surprising bulk with Eviolite. She is there to set up Perish Song and then Trick Room when the opponent is panicking trying to remove Gothitelle. Taunt will hit any Amoongus leads that want to mess up the combo. You can also take her in the back line if you think you can late-game perish trap as well as support her team.

Gothitelle @ Wiki Berry
Ability: Shadow Tag
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 SpD
Calm Nature
- Fake Out
- Protect
- Hypnosis
- Foul Play
This is the Shadow Tag Pokémon. Fake Out Turn 1, Protect Turn 2 and then Tera Dark and Hypnosis their most threatening slot on Turn 3 and hope you don’t get KO’d. Dark Tera will help against any threatening Dark attacks such as Dark Pulse from Hydreigon. She’s kinda useless outside of trapping but can hurt with Foul Play if you decide to switch her out.

Armarouge @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Armor Cannon
- Wide Guard
- Trick Room
- Protect
The team struggles hard against Torkoal so this is for him. Also works as the main TR setter if you run into a team that you can’t easily perish trap. Air Balloon works for Garchomp EQs or any threatening ground type moves that are thrown at him. In a best-of-three, you can take him alongside the 3 other TR Pokémon to run pure TR.

Skeledirge @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Shadow Ball
- Encore
- Protect
Safety Goggles is a solid counter against Amoongus. Torch Song + Shadow Ball messes up most Pokémon in the format and he is incredibly strong into Gholdengo in particular. Encore is a cool tech that can catch setup mons off guard. If you hit an encore on a protecting ‘Mon in a 2v2 under Trick Room (which the team is designed to do) you win the game.

Arboliva @ Chople Berry
Ability: Harvest
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Energy Ball
- Protect
- Helping Hand
- Earth Power
Mainly acts as a Dodonzo counter but also a take against rain and sand. Energy Ball hits HARD and Earth Power is coverage for steel types if you pair her with Kingambit. Chople Berry will let you survive Ghost Monkey’s Close Combat and she does well into any off-meta fighting types such as Hariyama and Medicham. Helping Hand is tech that can help you dodge sucker punch and have an impact in games against other grass types.

Kingambit @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
- Kowtow Cleave
- Protect
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
This Pokémon is really really strong. He will tear apart anything under Trick Room. You’re mainly clicking Kowtow Cleave under TR and winning. Iron Head covers for Fairy types which the team can struggle against and Sucker Punch allows you to put pressure on priority attackers such as Extreme Speed Dragonite and Jet Punch Palafin as well as secure vital KOs against anything that can stall out your Trick Room.
Strengths: Team is VERY strong against most Murkrow cores and Tailwind in general. You can mess up most meta teams with a lot of ease. If you get the perish trap and make the game a 2v2 under TR you just straight up win. Anti-TR counters such as Torkoal or Amoongus struggle with the item choices.
Weaknesses: Finds it difficult to deal with dragon types. A Garchomp lead who spams rock slide can mess up your trap with flinches. Ran into a Mold Breaker Haxorus on ladder that just completely destroyed me. Opponents that target Misdreavus in the trap can usually deny your Trick Room.
