* With a decent supportive movepool, great offensive stats, and the second highest base Speed of any Pokemon in the format, Pheromosa carves a niche in the current metagame as a dangerous supportive Pokemon that can hold its own.
* Close Combat is Pheromosa's main source of damage, being able to hit Fighting-weak Pokemon such as Incineroar and Urshifu-R for good damage. Due to Pheromosa's atrocious defenses, dropping them is very rarely relevant.
* Speed Swap is the primary reason to use Pheromosa. It's particularly potent when paired with Pokemon that have plenty of offensive pressure but lack Speed such as Glastrier and Eruption Torkoal.
* Coaching is a great supportive move that allows Pheromosa to substantially increase the damage output of physically attacking partners such as Glastrier, Thundurus, and Metagross.
* Triple Axel is the Ice-type move of choice, lending itself to Pheromosa's base 137 Attack stat and maximum Attack investment which can overcome Pokemon such as Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. Icy Wind is a great form of speed control due to Pheromosa's blistering Speed; on the other hand, Ice Beam is a good move that applies heavy pressure to Landorus-T.
* Due to Pheromosa's terrible defensive stats, Focus Sash is the only item worth running to allow Pheromosa to have multiple opportunities to perform its supportive role.
