after the fail that was the last pikachu team(sticky webs). i decided not to give up on trying to make the series mascot competitive. and so. i created this HO team.
the strategy is to abuse pikachu's access to extreme speed by adding two other mons with that move and a strong electric type to produce a situation where the other mons break opposing teams for pikachu(or one of them) to sweep late game.

Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Toxic

excadrill is a standard stealth rock lead in the OU tier. and here he does what he does in teams with more viable pokemon. the way to use him is simple, just lead with it whenever possible and get up rocks while spinning the opponents rocks. earthquake is for STAB while toxic is supposed to help drill deal with flying types like lando and torn. mold breaker is used to allow him to get up rocks versus magic bounce leads like diancie and sableye as well as poison them.

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball

this pokemon is very rare in the OU tier and here it is basically the other lead/support mon. the way to use it is to get up spikes and taunt opposing hazard setters. a good way to set up is to come in on lando(which drill lures) and the switch will give free spikes. now ice beam and shadow ball are coverage and the reason i am using it over the more common and more viable greninja is because having a ghost type is necessary in HO's due to the need to stop rapid spin.

Dragonite (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Extreme Speed

dragonite is one of my favorite pokemon and you'll see it in most of my teams. his role is to pressure the opponent by weakening bulky mons and potentially sweep. with multiscale, dragon dance and weakness policy it can spam +3 extreme speed with relative ease, dragon claw is used as STAB and fire punch is for pokemon like skarm, steela, ferrothorn, scizor and kartana. a jolly nature is used to outspeed ash greninja, mega lopunny and tapu koko. to use this mon, try to make sure the foe does not predict your weakness policy or come in when you can have two(or more) dragon dances(like when facing a choice locked ash greninja).
multiscale dragonite can also result in some matches when one thinks he is losing turning around very easily, just look at this replay and see how the match changes after dragonite comes in http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-925214292

Pikachu @ Light Ball
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Volt Tackle
- Extreme Speed
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

the star of the show. unlike the webs team which uses a special set. this runs a mixed attacker set which is made to have similar checks to most of the team. signature volt tackle is the obvious STAB of choice, grass knot helps pika deal with mega swampert and hippowdon while HP ice can OHKO certain landorus t forms and deal with weakened grass types. extreme speed is used to revenge kill weakened fast pokemon like both greninja forms and mega pinsir.
Incarnate Forme
Thundurus @ Electrium Z
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Wild Charge
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Superpower

z wild charge thundurus has similar checks to pikachu which allows him to weaken opposing teams for him. also he can punish defog users with it's defiant ability. this mon presents a pleasent surprise to those expecting a prankster nasty plot set. and runs some useful coverage in knock off(threatens chansey) and superpower(threatens ferrothorn which resists all of it's moves). HP ice is of course to stop landorus T who is a threat to any physically biased team

Linoone @ Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Belly Drum
- Extreme Speed
- Shadow Claw
- Stomping Tantrum

the final pokemon is the third member of the team's extreme speed spam core, with gluttony and figy berry it has enough bulk to set up a belly drum versus certain mons. and with that belly drum it can threaten alot of pokemon with a +6 STAB extreme speed. which just like dragonite's strong +3 extreme speed, can be used to weaken opposing mons for pikachu as well as to sweep late game. the other two moves are to threaten anything that resists normal. shadow claw threatens ghost types and stomping tanturn can beat weakened rock and steel types.

threatlist:

fast bulky attackers:

mega mawile can sucker punch KO almost anything and prevents setup, scarf blacephalon can OHKO anything that is not dragonite and threaten the latter with a multiscale loss, most of this team is very frail so it must be played wisely

burns:
being physically biased, this team can easily be messed up with burns

rock coverage:

three weak to it. this can be destroyed by stuff like stone edge hawlucha with relative ease

so this sums up my second pikachu team. i understand that building around something with a base stat total of 320 is a big challenge, so i'll try my best and take suggestions

EDIT: first pikachu win(third win overall) https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-923986910

EDIT 2: second pika gg https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-924523823

Welcome to Smogon! I'm locking your RMT for the time being as the forum rules require that you provide at least 3 lines of descriptions for each Pokemon to explain their roles. Please read the rules carefully and take a look at Team Showcase to see the level of detail we require. PM me with updated descriptions and I'll be happy to unlock this.
