Okay this is my first set, so please don't be too harsh. I will accept all criticism, please tell me if this set is viable or not.
Also, I kind of need someone to help me with a good EV spread, I'm not so good with EVs :/ I'll use a boring 4 / 252 / 252 spread for now :/
Topic Title: Piloswine (Choice Band)
http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/piloswine
[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Ice Shard
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Ice Fang / Superpower
item: Choice Band
ability: Snow Cloak
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- Hits quite hard with STAB moves.
- Ice Shard easily picks off frailer Pokemon, like Toxicroak, Swellow, Mismagius, Alakazam, etc.
- Perfect coverage with these moves. Ice Shard and Earthquake, its dual STABs already give it near perfect coverage (misses out on Shedinja), and Stone Edge rounds it off.
- Can also be used in offensive Hail teams thanks to its ability Snow Cloak.
- Does not fear paralysis (courtsey of its Ground typing), something that almost all other sweepers fear (bar its older brother Mamoswine).
Additional Comments:
- Ice Fang is recommended over Superpower because it gives you a secondary STAB option (albeit with crap base power) and does not decrease your Attack and Defense. Superpower is mainly used for Chansey and Clefable. Chansey is not much of a threat anyways, but Clefable can Encore you when you Earthquake it, opening up a turn for another Pokemon, like Mismagius.
- Adamant is preferred nature because if it uses Jolly, the power loss is very significant, and does not outspeed anything notable.
- Facade is an option over Ice Fang or Superpower, as it can turn a crippling Toxic into a destructive rampage if it predicts right.
- Prediction is very important with this set, as with all Choice Banders.
Teammates and Counters:
- Can remove other team of troublesome sweepers such as Mismagius, which allows other slower offensive Pokemon to sweep better without the fear of being revenge killed straight-away by some random Scarfer.
- Bulkier sweepers who are not extremely weak to Piloswine's moves counter it easily, such as Azumarill, Hariyama, Mesprit, etc.
Also, I kind of need someone to help me with a good EV spread, I'm not so good with EVs :/ I'll use a boring 4 / 252 / 252 spread for now :/
