[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to Electric Surge, Pincurchin is the best choice for a setter on Electric Terrain teams. The move Electric Terrain is even used to reset the Terrain when predicting a Thwackey switch into Pincurchin. Scald can be used to hit Ground-types like Rhydon, Piloswine, and Alolan Dugtrio. Memento provides a free turn of setup for one of the sweepers. Spikes limits the amount of switching the opponent can do, and wears down the opposing team, making it easier for one of Pincurchin's teammates to sweep. Terrain Extender is used to maximize the duration of Electric Terrain.
Pincurchin's only niche is being the setter for Electric Terrain teams, so teammates that can fully take advantage of the Terrain are needed. Common setup sweepers include Electric Seed Swoobat, Drifblim, and Thievul. Raichu and Manectric also make good teammates, proving an immunity to Electric and firing off powerful, Terrain-boosted Rising Voltage. Ground-types like Rhydon, Piloswine, and Alolan Dugtrio trouble Pincurchin, so Pokemon like Gurdurr and Poliwrath work well to help cover them.

Other Options
=============
Recover can be used to increase Pincurchin's longevity; however, it can be hard to fit due to the importance of its other moves and Pincurchin's low bulk making it hard for it to wall threats. Toxic Spikes can be used over Spikes, but the immediate damage of Spikes is often more useful at putting opponents in range of a KO. Eject Button can also be used to bring in a teammate for free, although this reduces the duration of the Terrain. Offensive sets under Trick Room are also options for Pincurchin, running Rising Voltage, Hydro Pump, Spikes, and Memento with a Life Orb or Choice Specs equipped.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Ground-types**: Rhydon, Piloswine, and Alolan Dugtrio all threaten Pincurchin with their STAB attacks while being immune to Rising Voltage. They need to be wary of Scald, however.
**Thwackey**: Thwackey can comfortably switch into Pincurchin's attacks and override Electric Terrain with its own Grassy Terrain.
**Defog Users**: Defog users such as Altaria, Articuno, and Rotom can remove Pincurchin's Electric Terrain and its entry hazards.
