Pincurchin exists purely to set up Electric Terrain to support teammates like Alolan Raichu, Unburden sweepers like Sceptile and Hitmonlee, and Electric Seed + Calm Mind sweepers like Xatu and Uxie. Anything extra Pincurchin does beyond setting up Terrain is simply extra credit, but its movepool actually allows it to pose a threat while its on the field. Scald hits Ground-types like Mudsdale on the switch. Even besides attacking, Pincurchin can setup Spikes to soften special walls like Copperajah and Sylveon, while Poison Jab snipes bulky Grass-types like Rotom-C and Tsareena. Recover ensures Pincurchin can set Terrain multiple times per battle, but Memento can be used as a final gambit to ensure a relatively free setup turn, which greatly supports Alolan Raichu and Sceptile. Terrain Extender is preferred to give as much time to teammates as possible to sweep or wallbreak, but Shuca Berry can be used alongside Hydro Pump to lure in and heavily damage offensive Ground-types like Silvally-Ground and Rhydon.

Although Pincurchin has coverage for Ground-types, it appreciates the support from Xatu to wall Mudsdale and also serve as a general pivot to safely get in Electric Terrain sweepers like Alolan Raichu and Sceptile. Xatu itself can make use of Electric Seed or Weakness Policy with Calm Mind to sweep teams or weaken shared checks between itself and Alolan Raichu such as Snorlax and Copperajah. Other setup sweepers that can function independently of Electric Terrain such as Omastar and Silvally-Ground also allow Pincurchin teams to not be entirely reliant on it while still taking advantage of its supportive capabilities.

Scald allows Pincurchin to hit hits Ground-types like Mudsdale on the switchin, and with a Shuca Berry, Pincurchin can even opt for Hydro Pump for even bigger damage on more offensive Ground-types like Silvally-Ground and Rhydon switch. Even besides attacking, Pincurchin can setup Spikes to soften special walls like Copperajah and Sylveon,(comma) while Poison Jab snipes bulky Grass-types like Rotom-C and Tsareena.(comma -> period) and Recover ensures Pincurchin can set Terrain multiple times per battle, but Memento can be used as a final gambit to ensure a relatively free setup turn, all of which greatly supports Alolan Raichu(remove hyphen) and Sceptile.
