Iron Crown is an offensive pivot that leverages its excellent typing into [x] threats to soft check them over the duration of a game whilst still dishing out massive damage.
- Tachyon Cutter is preferred over Flash Cannon as the STAB move of choice due to it's higher damage output and ability to break sash [is this relevant]
- Psychic Noise is the recommended STAB option as it can disrupt recovery on Pokemon like Jirachi, Garganacl and Mega Venusaur. Psychic is preferred for higher damage output on [xyz]
- Future Sight allows Iron Crown to support physical attackers and can help systematically break down bulkier teams
- Focus Blast hits Tyranitar and Hydreigon harder than its STAB options [especially ttar who pursuit traos]
- Assault Vest allows Iron Crown to comfortably tank hits such as [xyz], whilst also allowing it to survive super-effective coverage from Pokemon like Mega Gardevoir and Enamorus in a pinch.
- Heavy Duty Boots allows Iron Crown to avoid Spikes damage and thus keep healthy for a longer duration
- Fits on offensive teams due to role compression - provides a sturdy pivot without losing too much momentum.
- AV can tank a hit from most special attackers in the tier
- Weaknesses:
- Dark-type --> mainly Ttar who can tank a hit and retaliate with STAB Knock-Offs or Pursuit
- Celesteela --> Stymies this set and is forced to make predictable VOlt Switch plays
- Slowking --> Hard wall
- Pursuit, offensive pressure (e.g. serp)
- Aegislash --> another pretty big obstacle that can sponge hits and set up / retaliate hard
- BARELY misses out on critical speed tiers (ties with Hydreigon and outsped by Mega Gardevoir and base 100s and also base 110s)
- Faster offensive support
- AV suspectible to hazards in the long-run
- Partners:
- Usual fighting-type suspects to handle Dark-types
- Iron Crown annoys a lot of the poisons too. Azu is an hon mention since you dumpster Mega Venu and Amoong
- tyrannitar pairs pretty well. Beats Slowking and Aegi (sometimes) and lures other ttar. Also Bisharp is a REALLY good partner since you knock off 90% of the answers and you pursuit the stubborn ones like aegi and slowking.
- Usual fighting-type suspects to handle Dark-types
