Platinum Bandwagon

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Naive
252 spatk, 252 sp, 4 atk
Explosion
Psychic
Fire Blast
Stealth Rock

Azelf will act as my lead. Typical azelf set up. Sleath rock will help deter shaymin-s, salamence and other pokemon from poping up early in the battle.

Forretress @ Shed Shell
Relaxed
252 hp, 162 atk, 96 def
Explosion
Rapid Spin
Gyro Ball
Spikes

Since I do have a lot of pokemon with stealth rock weakness I need a rapid spinner to clear the stuff away. Stealth Rock incase Azelf doesn't set it up.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Careful/ Thick Fat
168 Hp, 120 Def, 220 Sp Def
Crunch
Selfdestruct
Body Slam
Earthquake

Considering Rotom form usage this will help counter them and Heatran.

Mamoswine @ Choice Band
Adamant/ Snow Cloak
252 atk, 60 hp, 196 sp
Ice Shard
Earthquake
Superpower
Stone Edge

With Salamence and Shaymin-s with growing popularity this will help counter them. Choice Band helps to OHKO shaymin forms with yache berry.

Salamence @ Yache Berry
Adamant
252 atk, 80 Hp, 176 sp
Outrage
Dragon Dance
Fire Blast
Earthquake

The new moveset that a lot of people are trying out. Extra speed to outrun other salamence and adamant lucario. Yache berry for extra protection.

Shaymin - S @ Yache Berry
Timid
252 spatk, 252 sp, 4 def
Substitute
Earthpower
Air Slash
Seed Flare

This basically out runs every single non-scarfed threat in the game. Seed Flare basically puts a big whole into whatever switches in. Air Slash helps to deal with other shaymin and the extra flinch % is an added bonus. Earth Power takes care of heatran, but choice scarf verisons can still kill shaymin.

I haven't actually gotten around to trying this team out yet, but I think it'll work fairly well against the new trends platinum has set. Although personally I have a feeling that Shaymin and Salamence might get moved to uber because of overcentralizing, but if not all the more fun to have to a Garchomp like substitute in OU. =)

You don't need protect on Skymin to see what the other Pokemon has. Experience should be able to tell you the possible moves your opponent possibly has, and common sense should tell you which one would be the best one for him to use in the situation.

I would really put HP Fire on Shaymin for extra coverage.

your azelf appears to have 252 EV's still unused.

Two pokemon with stealth rock is unnescecary, it's unlikely azelf will fail to set up stealth rocks, and you'd be better off replacing them with spikes or toxic spikes on forretress.

You definitely want Stone Edge over Ice Fang on Mamoswine. Ice Fang hardly hits for any more power than Ice Shard and is largely unnecessary, while Stone Edge will actually give you a move to hit Gyarados, who currently walls you.

Also, I would definitely run 176 Speed EVs minimum on Salamence to make sure you outspeed Adamant Lucario. Salamence is really the only thing that can switch in to Adamant SDLuke and not immediately die, so you are definitely going to want to outspeed him, and it's not like you are losing any notable KOs by losing those SAtk EVs. Just look out for +Spd SD Luke though, as he will cause you serious problems.

Lastly, Protect is pretty useless on Sky Shaymin, it isn't really accomplishing anything. I would at least replace it with Substitute. Alot of people rely on switching Scarf Heatran in to absorb Shaymin's Seed Flares and threaten to outspeed and OHKO, so you can get the jump on them by substituting as they switch in, forcing them to either switch or die to earth power.

Your team looks like it has some problems with SDScizor, maybe consider replacing Azelf for a Scarf Heatran of your own?

My azelf has the 252 in sp and 252 sp atk. 252 sp/spatk is my way of saying each stat gets 252 EVs. I'll change that.

Alright even if I do switch out Azelf with Heatran will it be the best lead pokemon out of the ones I already have? To me it seems that choice scarf heatran is more for late game with the pkmn I already have.
