Hello All,
First time posting and first time playing Pokemon. So please forgive me if I make some school yard mistakes.
So this is my first try at a competitive team, like I said I am very very green so I welcome all suggestions and criticism.
This team seems to be Peaking at around 1300 on showdown.
Here we go:
The Team:
<Rotom-W>
~Levitate
~leftover
EV 252 SPD/ 168 SPA/ 84 SP
-Volt Switch
-Hydropump
-Will o Wisp
-Pain split
I like using her as a lead, her ability in levitate as well as great defensive capabilities allow her to spread Will o Wisp to deal with potential threats. Hydropump allows her to hit hard enough to potentially get rid of some early game threats and Pain Splits give her some recovery option and allows for semi Stall, finally Volt Switch give her a good exit strategy and keeps up momentum of the team.
<Scizor>
~Technician
~Life Orb
EV 252ATK/ 168 SPD/ 84HP
- Bullet Punch
- U Turn
- Sword Dance
- Roost
He is a great partner for Rotom, I find that a lot of my opponents switch-ins struggle to deal with him and he can set up with sword dance with relative ease and sweep. I have roost for recovery and U-Turn as an exit strategy to other teammates that can deal with his counters more easily. I also find that he is a great partner for Azumarill because he can switch in a poison or grass attack and then set up and hit pack hard with priority bullet punch.
<Ferrothorn>
~Iron Barbs
~Rocky helmet
EV 252 SPD/252HP
-Stealth rock
-Gyroball
-Powerwhip
-Thunderwave
I use him as a switch in for physical threats, as I can switch her in, get hit and hurt opponent back, lay entry hazard or cripple T-wave. Or hit back hard with Gyroball or Powerwhip for water types or grass types that will see to set up on him. He is really effective as a semi check for the likes of Talonflame and other physical attackers as I can offer him up to get hit and then hit back with my own STAB or let my teammates take care of the now weakened threat.
<Manetric>
~Lightning Rod
~Manetricite
EV 252 SPA/252SP
-Discharge
-Hidden Power Ice
-Flame thrower
-Volt switch
I like her ability that allows her to switch in to electric moves, get a boost then go mega. I think this move pool give her some decent coverage and synergy with her teammates. as flame thrower covers a lot of the steel weakness on this team, and I favor discharge over thunderbolt for the high paralysis chance. Finally Volt switch hit quite hard and allows for momentum to be kept on the team. I am considering a hit and run strategy with him and "Upgrading" flame thrower to overheat, which then allows me to use overheat, then Voltswitch. I don't know how useful hidden power ice is on this poke, as I haven't had the occasion to try it out yet, but it is there for greater coverage against ground types but I find that it doesn't cleanly 2HKO and Manetric is often too frail to stand up against the counter attack.
<Azumarill>
~huge Power
~Leftover
EV 252 ATK/168HP/84SP
-AquaJet
-Waterfall
-Play Rough
-Superpower
I tried choice band with him, but I find that the one move limitation greatly limits his utility so I opt for recovery instead. I use him mainly as the obligatory dragon/fighting/dark counter as well as the fact that not a lot of things out there resist her STAB moves and he also have a powerful priority in Aqua Jet. Superpower is actually quite usefull in a pinch against Forretress and opposing Scizor. However he does need a bit of support from his teammates as often he faces opponents that are faster then him, so I always have to count on him surviving the first hit and the EV training in speed did not help to improve the situation that much.
<Greninja>
~Protean
~Life Orb
EV 252 SPA/ 252 SP
-Ice Beam
-Dark Pulse
-U Turn
-Surf
He is my late game sweeper, what Scizor and others couldn't finish he takes care of. Fantastic Speed, great coverage with Ice beam. In one instance he actually survived a +6 Shadow Sneak from Aegislash and KO with Dark Pulse. I find that he is also a great revenge killer, as he will also often force a switch and he also keeps the opponents guessing in terms of what other moves he can hold. I am actually considering training him to a physical attacker and throwing Rockslide, W-shiruken, Night slash and U-turn on him.
On the Bench:
<Mamoswine>
~thick Fat
~Life Orb
EV 252 SPD/ 252 AtK
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Icicle Crash
-Ice shard
My word this thing rips face, I'm just struggling to find a spot for her on the team though. Ferro already has stealth rock and Manetric covers the lightning immunity, only way I can justify it if for the Ice priority and earthquake to hit Aegislash, otherwise I really do struggle to find a place for her on the team. she does deal with Nidoking fantastically who otherwise sweeps half my team sometimes.
<Breloom>
~Technician
~Life Orb
EV 252 SPD/ 252 AtK
-Bullet Seed
-Spore
-Mach Punch
-Rock Tomb
Once again, this is a fantastic Pokemon but I struggle to find a place on the team for her with out breaking synergy. Bullet seed is monstrous on her with technician, Spore induces sleep against potential threats and Rocktomb is fantastic with Technician and its speed drop can cripple a lot of would be threats and it also hits Charizard hard. Mach Punch cleanly OHKO a lot of dark types which is quite a good incentive to have but once again its who I have to take off the team for her.
<Volcanora>
~Flame Body
~Lum berry
EV 252 SPA/ 252 SP
-Fiery Dance
-Quiver Dance
-Bug Buzz
-Hurricane
I would like to use her as she can balance out the team in terms of coverage against dark, and steel types. she has decent speed and also monstrous SPA, the problem right now is that I'm not sure who I can actually replace her with. I'm thinking remove hurricane with U Turn (if she can learn it) and slotting her in somewhere.
Conclusion:
I know I lack hazard removal and it does present a bit of an issue, also I know that i don't have spin blockers which can be problematic. on top of this I get swept SpA heavy teams and walled by rest talk Milotic and other Stalls that I can't cleanly OHKO.
Like I said, all suggestions would be highly appreciated
