Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 160 HP / 212 Def / 136 Spe
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Toxic
Landorus was my go-to for a reliable SR setter/Defogger. Enough Speed to outspeed fully invested Magearna, with 160/212 EVs in HP/Defense along with rocky helmet to serve a decent physical pivot. People usually expect Lando to be offensive or Scarf, so it has a decent surprise factor when stuff like Garchomp/Dragonite/Melmetal can't put a dent in it and get Toxic'd or EQ'd in return.
Cinderace @ Life Orb
Ability: Libero
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pyro Ball
- High Jump Kick
- Gunk Shot
- Sucker Punch
Cinderace is just pure power and versatility. Wanted CB at first but went for LO to capitalize on the coverage and the broken ability that is Libero. With Adamant and LO, most mons that outspeed Cinderace are OHKO'd by Sucker Punch after rocks. Adamant LO HJK 2HKO's most mons that resist it, and OHKO's everything else.
Spectrier @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Grim Neigh
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Taunt
I haven't got any particularly fast mons on this team, so I knew I needed Scarf Spectrier. Modest means that it has a little bit of extra power, as Scarf at 359 speed already outspeeds most other scarfers. I wanted to make sure I could OHKO/2HKO to start snowballing. Unless the opponent has Blissey or Urshifu, Scarf is very hard to check with Modest +1.
Slowking-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpA / 80 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Psychic
- Future Sight
- Flamethrower
The team's special tank. Most special moves that are not supereffective will only do about 10-30%, and the SpAtk investment allows Slowking to hit hard in return. Future Sight over Hydro Pump or Scald because Heatran can't really touch this thing unless it's specs eruption, and Slowking also beats Nidoking 1v1.
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpA / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam
- Draining Kiss
- Surf
A variation of the usual defensive set with no taunt or speed investment. I was finding Fini to be a little weak even after +2 in SpAtk, so I added a little investment there. Since it has amazing physical bulk, I put Ice Beam on there to deal with Rillaboom + for times when Draining Kiss wasn't doing enough to bulky 4x ice-weak dragons. Surf over Scald because of Terrain.
Kyurem @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Freeze-Dry
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
Kyurem is here to deal with Rain teams. If I lead with it against stuff like Pelliper, it can get a solid hit off when they switch and usually score a kill against things like SpDef Swampert. Modest so that I can do as much damage as possible to stuff like Ferrothorn. Ice Beam with Modest Specs also 2HKO's Physically Defensive Clef.
