Hi there! I'm new (just got registered) and I thought it would be a good idea to post my team here and try to improve it with everyone. I play mostly in-game so atm I can't get some legendaries and other Pokémon. I hope we can do something about it… It is a Stall Team and right now consists of:
#1- Skarmory
Skarmory (Aka Stallmory or Swallmory) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SDef // 252 HP, 252 Sdef, 4 Def (I own two different EV Spreaded Skarmos and I can't tell which one is better)
Nature: Impish
-Spikes (I'll get one with Stealth Rock instead after Pokebank)
-Whirlwind
-Roost
-Brave Bird
Pretty standard sets (the first one maximizing its physical bulk and the other one with better special bulk), they are my usual lead and have been successful to me most of the time. Their type combination is nice in order to take now not-very-effective hits targeted at other team members. Skarmory also gets rid of set-up sweepers by phazing them out and doing passive damage with its hazards. I prefer to have access to a decent damage dealing move as Brave Bird in order to not to be a total Taunt bait and hitting the common Magic Bounce switch-ins (f**k you Espeon!) and to hit threats like Mega Venusaur hard. It has only two weaknesses (Fire and Electric) resisted by other teammates so I can switch it out safely in most conditions (if I predict well of course).
#2: Gliscor
Gliscor (aka Batman) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP, 252 Def, 12 Spe
Nature: Impish
-Toxic
-Protect
-Substitute
-Earthquake
Also a classic Gliscor set, this one being the SubRoost set. You may be thinking, another wall? Yes. Right now, the metagame is very physically oriented, so it seems a "must have" for me. This strategy is very simple: Start with Protect to ensure the Toxic Orb's activation and become immune to most status conditions (except confusion and the like), or directly badly poisoning the opponent or making a Substitute if you scare them away. Stalling attackers by combining the moves Protect and Substitute after poisoning them is good, but very predictable. Earthquake is there to inflict STABbed damage and super effective against Poison and Steel-types, which are unaffected by Toxic. Having only two weaknesses (Water and Ice) is also nice. Its also immune to Electric-type attacks aimed at Skarmory, for example.
3# Rotom-W
Rotom-W (aka Bosch) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Satk
Nature: Bold
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Will-o-Wisp
-Rest
…And here's ANOTHER fully physical bulk-invested Pokémon in the same team. The reason? Talonflame, Aegislash… practically every physical attacker out there. There's nothing new with this Rotom, Volt Switch to gain momentum, Hydro Pump to hit hard, WoW to cripple almost all non-Fire types and Rest with Chesto Berry to increase durability and to heal off status. Has great defensive typing synergy with Gliscor and Skarmory, resisting Water, Ice, Fire and being neutral to Electric, and being only weak to Grass (factoring Levitate) while Skarmory resists it x4. Having all these physically defensive Pokémon is great and all, but… what about taking hits on the special side? For that, I have…
#4 Chansey
Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Sdef
Nature: Bold
-Toxic
-Protect
-Softboiled
-Seismic Toss
The Special Wall. Thanks to Eviolite and the EV spread, this thing can even take physical hits and heal off the damage and Toxic or Seismic Toss the opponent. This 'mon can be seen as the special defense version of Gliscor. I chose to run Protect instead of Aromatherapy because of Gliscor, but it works to scout enemy moves and, for example, stall Focus Blast's PPs from common switch-ins like Gengar, even if it can't do anything back to him. It just forces switches against special attackers like Greninja or even Megazard Y. In case of Aegislash, just switch to Gliscor and tank an unboosted Sacred Sword like nothing and KO back with EQ in return.
#5 Alakazam
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Satk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Nature: Timid
-Psyshock
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball
-Dazzling Gleam
The revenger/Special sweeper (in some cases). The only special attacker in the team, it comes against weakened foes or via a safe Volt Switch to scare most of non-priority users. Even against them, thanks to the Sash it can survive every non-multi-hit move and its ability, will at least strike once. Its ability is very useful in order to keep its Sash intact, making it immune to weather passive damage and entry hazard damage and poison and burns. It is still affected by the speed drop from Sticky Web, so must be aware of that when it shows up. The election of Psyshock instead of Psychic is because of the special walls out there, and Dazzling Gleam because it is still SE against Dark-Types, has more PP than Focus Miss and well, it doesn't miss every time you wish to get a clean hit. It deals well with dragons too. and now that Steel doesn't resist Ghost, you can spam Shadow Ball more easily.
#6 Lucario
---->
Lucario (aka Anubis) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified --> Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Nature: Jolly
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Bullet Punch
-Earthquake
And finally, the Mega Evolution. I also try Mega Scizor at times, but I think Lucario is better as a sweeper. Thanks to Adaptability and its increased attack stat, only a few can take a +2 Close combat to the face (if they do resist it), and thanks to the access of priority moves (I chose Bullet Punch, but Extreme Speed is also OK) its hard to revenge kill. MegaLuke usually appears at the late game, when almost everything has some damage to ensure some kills that otherwise should be 2HKOs. Earthquake is chosen over other options as Crunch in order to deal with Fire types and Aegislash without fearing the Attack drop from King's Shield.
Soooo, basically that's it. I was trying different options and naturally ended up like this after some changes, and I like it, but I believe there's a way to improve it. Sorry for the possible bad English, I'm not used to write in it at all :P
Thoughts?
