So I'm pretty new to the whole competitive aspect of Pokemon, but I've made a few teams that seem to always stick at a 50/50 success rate. Finally I found this combo which seems to work quite well. Please let me know what you think.
Togekiss @ Razor Fang
Ability: Serene Grace
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SDef
Bold Nature
- Air Slash
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
Pretty staple ParaFlinch Togekiss setup. I love the set, sweeps a few unlucky people. If it finds a chance or two to Nasty Plot, it can be quite fearsome.
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Payback
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
Tyranitar is one of my favorite mons. I've been unable to get rid of him since the first day I used him, though I have swapped his set a few times. The beauty here is that most people don't see T-Tar with Taunt coming very often, allowing him to shut down most stallers or pranksters.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
Level: 50
EVs: 36 Def / 252 HP / 220 Atk
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Another of my favorites. I'm a fan of the mega as you can nicely evolve just to u-turn to get the stats on re-entry, or you can just use him straight up. Everyone knows how strong this guy can be after a setup, the mega stone just allows for more bulk than usual.
Tentacruel @ Assault Vest
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
My newest addition, and he's made his way into almost every 3v3 battle since I made him. The ultimate in assault vest support. With no invest in his SP.Def. at all he sits at 210 with the vest, without any def invest he got bulldozed through, with full invest he's a pretty awesome tank capable of many types of support; Spinning, Knockoff, 30% chance of burn/poison and he destroys those pesky fairies.
Garchomp @ Choice Band
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Fire Fang
The third one in here just because I love him, but just like T-Tar and Scizor, he's a huge threat on the field. My only problem with him is that with the introduction of fairies he now has two moves very easily switched into - Earthquake and Outrage - However, I find that if my first goal is to wipe out the fairies, my second goal is to win with this beast.
Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Overheat
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Trick
This guy seemed like the perfect coverage for my last spot. Unlike his water counterpart, this guy can suck up not only T-Waves but also Will-o's. Not a lot of mons outspeed this little guy allowing for a fast check with the Volt Switch. I rarely find a REAL use for Trick, but it does slow some people down a little, great for general disruption, and with full speed investment and a generally quick team I'm not afraid to hand his scarf off to most guys.
That's it guys! let me know what you think, any suggestions? Any glaring problems that I'm missing? So far i've been consistently winning random rating singles, went from a negative score at 1400ish to almost 1600. Tanks for the feedback!
