ORAS OU Please Rate My Team

I really wanted to make a team around mightyena even though he is not ou but my problem is not with using him but I don't know how to build a team around him that stops the common threats in ou. I have problems with latias and latios they out speed most of my pokemon and I can't switch mightyena in on them because he will get OHKO. Priority and keldeo give me trouble as well but all in all this team has a lot of trouble some I think I may have even forgot some.

Mightyena @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Crunch
- Play Rough
- Fire Fang
I put sucker punch on him because of his low speed. Crunch is to out predict them or if they switch out it still hits. Play rough is for any dragons or fighting types I might out speed. I just put fire fang because I thought I had enough dragon coverage and I already have an electric type.
skarmory.gif

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
- Whirlwind
- Counter
- Spikes
- Roost
I wanted a hazard setter and skarmory is my favorite so I chose spikes because I can put three layers rather than stealth rock one. Whirlwind is for phasing to do extra damage. Counter is there just in case I can do a good bit of damage after getting hit. Roost is there for healing so I can get all three layers of spikes up to help mightyena sweep.
rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest
I thought I needed a special defensive pokemon since I had skarmory as a defensive one. Wil-o-wisp is for hitting physical attackers.Rest is for recovery and it helps with status. Hydro pump hits landorus and fire types hard. Then volt switch is there for initiative.
gardevoir-mega.gif

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
I wanted mega gardevoir because it covers all of mightyena's weaknesses and is a good special attacker too. I use hyper voice and psyshock for damage shadowball for and psychic type. I thought I need thunder bolt because hyper voice does more damage to rotom wash than energy ball.
landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 24 Def / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
I thought I needed electric immunity and a fast pokemon so I chose scarfed landorus. U-turn is there for switch initiative. Earthquake provides good damage and stab. Stone edge is to hit talonflame. Superpower is a good play when there is no resistances for it and it hits really hard.
torkoal.gif

Torkoal @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Sludge Bomb
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
I needed a rapid spinner and a ferrothorn counter so I chose torkoal. He of course needs rapid spin. Then sludge bomb for fairy types that he can come in on like sylveon. Lava plume is there for the burn chance and STAB.

Hey man, really interesting team. I like that your using Mightyena in your team (Mightyena is my second favorite Pokémon). Your team could use a little help so here are my suggestions:
-Replace Counter on Skarmory with Brave Bird. Brave Bird gets STAB and can help deal with grass types better. Since Skarmory has great Physical Defense, Counter wont do too much or your opponent can just switch into a special attacker.
-Switch out Torkoal for Latios. Torkoal really isn't the best Rapid Spinner in the metagame and it can be spin blocked by ghost types. A Defog Latios set would be more useful imo as you have another sweeping option at your disposal too. Your team is also very weak to Zard-Y so this Latios will also help you too. (Since I don't really know how to import files I'll leave it below. Some one else can put it in a file for you.)

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: Hp 29
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power Fire
- Defog

This set will help you a bit against Ferrothorn and Scizor due to HP Fire. Be warned that it may lose a speed tie against other Latios. Lando can help you a bit with those fairies as most have poor Physical Defense. Psyshock from Garde and Latios will help a bit too.

Hope this helps. It will be interesting to see where this team goes from here.

I tried it and I like it most of the time but ghosts give me trouble so I'll try to tweak some other moves t handle gengar

If your really worried about ice types then put Focus Blast on Garde instead of Thunderbolt. The only common ice types in OU are Weavile, Mamoswine, and Kyurem-B. (The first two are covered by Rotom and Garde or Latios can deal with Kyurem-B if its not scarfed. Going to go play some Splatoon with a friend. If you want more advice you can PM me if you want or wait for tomorrow.)

Hey if you want a rapid spinner for Ferrothorn, try a Tentacruel with Liquid Ooze. Also sets Toxic Spikes. Also covers Ice.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 240 HP / 244 Def / 24 Spe
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Knock Off/Sludge Bomb

My best advice for building a team around Mightyena is that you should try it in PU - there's no reason to use it in OU really ever, its completely nonviable. If you're determined to keep using this team, I do have a couple suggestions that might help:

1. Use Focus Blast and either Taunt/Will-O-Wisp > Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball on Gardevoir. Focus Blast provides great neutral coverage in association with pixilate Hyper Voice and Psyshock, and helps you to destroy Ferrothorn (which you mention later is a bit of an issue). Will-O-Wisp and Taunt help you destroy physical attackers and stall pokemon respectively, especially if you predict a swtich, and tend to be more useful than Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt, whose coverage is mostly redundant.

2. Defog is the main reason for using Skarmory besides being a Fairy check. For this reason I recommend using the Specially Defensive set - this opens up a pokemon slot to use over Torkoal, which you were really only using for Rapid Spin and to check Fairies, and which is very outclassed in OU. This set could also allow you to change Rotom-W to a physically defensive set, depending on what you think you need.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Spikes
- Roost
- Defog

3. Your last slot is pretty well up to you, but I'd recommend something to help break down walls that could annoy Gardevoir/Mightyena. My personal pick is Talonflame for the synergy with Mightyena - it resists everything Mightyena is weak to and kills off other priority users with Gale Wings Brave Bird.
Talonflame @ Sharp Beak/No Item
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird/Acrobatics
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Acrobatics is slashed next to Brave Bird because it offers less power but doesn't have any recoil. If you choose to use it you don't run an item, doubling its power to a respectable 110 - otherwise use Sharp Beak.

Hope I helped you out a bit and enjoy battling!
