Alakazam really does not like this matchup, so it tries to stall for an opening to skedaddle. Colossoil towers over its enemy, and quakes the earth beneath them to show its dominance. In a feat of either cowardice or strategy, Drapion is ordered to hide behind a beefy substitute. And then, the plan plays out: As Colossoil reacts to the incoming infestation and tries to trap the scorpion, preventing its escape, it's blocked by the Substitute! Now, the land whale is trapped on the field by the flurry of insects, and it wails against the Substitute until it shatters into dust. In the dust, Drapion charges forward and gives one last slash with its pincers until it retreats.

Oh, and Frosty comes in to battle! Did Dogfish need to call in the heavy guns for this one?

If Colossoil would use a D/E move and not in a combo and not suspended and the weather isn't strong sunlight, use Solar Beam and push back.

Venusaur finds itself quite at home facing this Colossoil, though Bakugou isn't going to let this matchup last. It protects itself against a Grass Knot, which while taking a hefty toll on its energy, it prevents a massive amount of damage. As Venusaur drains away some of Colossoil's energy, it slams down on Venusaur and then smacks it to flinch it, sending it flying back, and Drapion is whisked back onto the scene.

Colossoil shakes the ground in victory, quaking the earth over, and over, not letting the Drapion have any rest. Colossoil leads with a Bite to score a flinch on the Venusaur, preventing the planty Pokemon from trapping the Colossoil in the arena. However, Colossoil shrugs dismissively, and then builds up power for a tremendous attack. A Grass Knot from Venusaur does a metric butt-ton of damage, but it's not enough to stop the Fissure and Earthquake combo that does extreme amounts of damage to the poor plant. What a way to get some mileage out of your Colossoil, even if it did cause some self-induced unconsciousness.

Alakazam blips into existence and starts tossing out Psychic attacks like it's Free Psychic Sunday. Plot twist; it's actually Friday! Venusaur sets up a Light Screen in order to enact the next stage of its plan. It draws in sunlight, and uses some of that power to heal itself very quickly. Alakazam's next Psychic now misses its mark and doesn't KO the beast. A fully powered, Overgrowth boosted Solar Beam puts a chunk into Alakazam's hide, and another Psychic lands, but leaves Venusaur barely hanging on. Such resilience.
