Set Details
Breloom's unique defensive profile makes it a great check to the tier's Dark-types like Krookodile, Umbreon, and Wo-Chien as well as Rhyperior, and it's a decent wallbreaker with good resilience. It's also able to switch into the many Scalds and Thunder Waves in the tier after it activates Poison Heal. In addition, status-boosted Facade allows Breloom to damage Flying- and Poison-type Pokemon such as Noivern and Fezandipiti. Protect scouts the intention of Choice-locked Pokemon, like Galarian Zapdos and Basculegion-F, while also racking up Poison Heal recovery. Protect also ensures Toxic Orb is activated when Breloom first enters the field. 176 Speed EVs allow Breloom to outspeed Modest offensive Empoleon and Hisuian Goodra. Maximum HP allows Breloom to stomach hits such as Strange Steam from Galarian Weezing and Psychic Noise from Jirachi, allowing it to outlast them long-term. Tera Steel allows Breloom to flip its Fairy, Psychic, and Flying weaknesses into resistances, turning the tables on revenge killing attempts from the likes of Gardevoir and Galarian Zapdos, while Tera Normal lets Facade 2HKO the likes of Fezandipiti and Salamence.
Breloom fits best on bulky offense to balanced teams due to its ability to stomach Knock Offs and status while keeping up offensive pressure. Breloom is a great partner for special attackers such as Raikou, Fezandipiti, and Basculegion-F, all of which can bring it in safely versus special sponges such as Cyclizar and Hisuian Goodra. Breloom also a great teammate for Armarouge, which dispatches bulky Psychic-type Pokemon like Slowbro and Reuniclus while Breloom switches into the plenty of bulky Dark- and Water-type Pokemon like Umbreon and Empoleon that Armarouge might struggle with. Similarly, Slowbro pairs well with Breloom, as it resists Fire- and Psychic-type attacks like Sacred Fire and Psychic Noise from Entei and Reuniclus for it, while Breloom resists Electric- and Dark-type attacks like Thunderbolt from Raikou and Magnezone and Knock Off from Krookodile. Krookodile is also a great partner for Breloom, as it removes Heavy-Duty Boots and Rocky Helmet from foes like Slowbro, Galarian Weezing, and Hippowdon while also setting up Stealth Rock to chip it's usual checks like Galarian Weezing. Physical sweepers like Bisharp and Gyarados enjoy Breloom weakening physical walls like Galarian Weezing, Slowbro, Chesnaught, and Hippowdon while absorbing Toxic and Thunder Wave from the likes of Umbreon and the aforementioned Slowbro.
