Do you even remember nats??? I finally got around to pulling together a video for VGC nationals this year! http://youtu.be/G5m07M--_ZA
In the swiss tournament, I won 4 and lost 3. Here's what I can remember, and the rounds may be slightly out of order.
R1: Won vs ???. I think he was Thomas Lamont, first place from ATL
R2: Won vs ???. Can't remember much, I think it was runner up from ATL, Harrison Saylor
R3: Lost to Christina Bacino. She got a tailwind off with Tornadus, and Moxie Scrafty and Terrakion swept me. Major props.
R4: Won vs Kacey Traver. This was a rematch of the finals at Seattle. It was on the screen and very close. My Conkeldurr got a double protect off, and that gave me the edge to pull off the victory. Sorry about the haxx, Kacey.
R5: Lost to Simon Yip. My memory fails me on this one. The only thing I can remember is losing... hard. Good job, Simon!
R6: Won vs Kyler McCoy (I think) This one was on TV - He used a Heat Rock Whimsicott with Solar Beam. Very close match. Props to for the originality.
R7: Lost to Steven Morioka - He led Chandelure and Mienshao. My leads were Thundurus and Krook. I was expecting a scarfed overheat to my Thundurus, but his Mienshao Feinted Krook and the Chandelure finished Krook off with an Overheat. I was hoping that my priority thunderwave would fully para Chandelure, but no luck there! After the first turn, the game went downhill for me. Congrats, Steven!
So just 1 win away from qualifying for the top 16! After all the calculations, I placed 24th at Nationals. I had a ton of fun, and I'm sure I'll be tournaments next year. Also, I got a nicer high definition camera, so the videos will be better! See ya next year!
