I need to use the Pokeradar on my Japanese version to catch Ditto's on route 218. Thing is I've never used it and it's not like I can read the options/instructions for it either. Would anyone here be able to explain the Poke Radar to me?

Use it when you're in tall grass, you'll see patches of grass move. Walk up to them and a fight will start. If it's not the monster you're looking for, DO NOT run away, faint it. Restart the process until the battery runs out. Walk around to recharge it and be patient, it can take a while.
Thanks, but what happens if you run away?
The whole process will end, and you'll have to run around and recharge the battery. If you faint the monster, you can try to catch rare monsters a few more times before it runs out.
What's cool about this is that the PokeRadar has this "consecutive wins" thing. If you kill a pokemon you encountered using the PokeRadar, you might encounter it again in the next fight (depends on which grassy tile you chose). It also works if you catch a pokemon, so that way I got up to 5 Dittos in a row when I was lucky.
