Pokemon Championship Team RMT

This looks good for the most part, Alakazam is obviously a good Taunter since you can avoid Fake Out through Inner Focus, and when paired with Infernape you can Fake Out your opponent's other Pokémon.

However, I don't like the idea of you just 'stopping your opponent from setting up a field condition' since all you have to lead with is two frail sweepers. If your opponent just decides to attack because they expect a Fake Out + Taunt combo from your leads (which is rather predictable) you're not really gaining a whole lot in return are you?

I think you should just scrap Signal Beam on Alakazam, since it's only hitting Ludicolo for 15 more base power than Psychic and you have Shadow Ball to hit other Psychic-types. I know you already have ways of dealing with Steel-types, but Focus Blast or Hidden Power Fighting would still be better options IMO, or better yet, Protect to prevent Explosion from tearing through you, since 3/4 of your team can be beaten through it, which isn't good.

The team has good synergy, but I don't like Surf on Vaporeon either.. It's just something you'll have to deal with though I guess.

mence only has three attacks?
also why not just max speed on zam. you already have sash to survive weak attacks, and on something as fragile as zam, you want to outspeed anything you can

Excellent team; I hope you do not mind if I make a few nitpicks.

First of all, there is one pokemon that fools your strategy unfortunately. It is Crobat. It has Inner Focus and will ALWAYS carry Taunt. You can hit it with Psycic, but by that time, the damage is done and the opponent can set up Rain Dance, Sunny Day, or Trick Room. For this reason, I suggest you run Crobat over Alakazam, as in worst case scenario, you will reach a speed tie.

However, apart from that your team should do fine. I'll post if I notice anything else.

The only thing that outspeeds zam is other zams, sceptiles, and ambipom. Thoughs aren't big threats since most people don't even use those pokes. And why wouldn't mence have 3 atks. It had DD.

Hmm I never thought of crobat. I'll look. In to it. Thanks.

I'd still just use max Speed on Alakazam, those 40 HP EVs really aren't doing much.

Oh, okay, cool. Have you managed to use this team in practice yet?

I think you could try something like Dragon Dance Gyarados over Vaporeon, I know it's a completely different Pokémon, but the absence of a field condition could mean that you're able to sweep with your double Dragon Dancers.

Double Intimidate could also be very effective to hinder your opponent's Attack, while you're then free to use Earthquake. It does open up a triple Rock weakness, but I think you'd be okay. Could be something worth trying.

Ive actually thought about using gyara but then my team would be lop sided with psychical attackers. I think I'll stay with vap but I do have a gyara in my box so I'll try it out sometime. Thanks for the comment. Plus that would leave me with no walls.

Yeh, but do you really need a wall? I'm not so convinced that walls are needed in this environment.

I think the whole point of you Taunting your opponent to prevent the likes of Trick Room, Sunny Day and Rain Dance is so that you can set up yourself with no fear. Once you stop your opponent setting up, you can Dragon Dance with your sweepers and demolish them. I doubt many people will run full on defensive teams, and by the time you get to Dragon Dance once or twice, not many Pokémon will be able to survive an attack.

Okay. I think the main reason I had vaporeon is to absorb surfs. I'll definitely try both gyara and vaporeon now. Thanks.

I think Havak is right, but you are also right:

- Vappy really isn't needed, since it mainly functions as a wall.
-However, another DD user will make you physically lopsided.

Since this will be a platinum team, I recommned trying to get a Jirachi or Empoleon on this team. Jirachi can run a Calm MInd set, or Empoleon can run a SubPetayaAgility set.

I can't use jirachi in the championship because it is banned but Ill try the empoleon. Thanks and keep the replys coming.

Heh, Wailord is a cool dude. But generally I hate Choiced Pokémon in 4vs4 Double Battles, so I'm not sure how effective it'll be. I doubt you'll get the chance to switch out and back in very often, so switching moves will be hard.. Also, with the probable influx of Water-types due to Rain Dance teams, I can't see your Water Spout being the most effective weapon. Do you not have XD to get Selfdestruct? I'd honestly try not to have to use any Choice Item though.

Do you have any ideas about what item it should have? Maybe Quick Claw? idk since hax items are allowed.

Ive tested this team recently and it actually works well with scarf Wailord. I do have a strong weakness to jolteon. Im thinking of putting gastrodon on the team because its bulky but can also learn muddy water which only hits the opponents pokes.
