Pokemon database scripts?

I'm wondering if there are any .sql scripts out there I could use to populate a database with existing pokemon info, including DP?

Actually, I don't really need all the dex info. Even just a name/national number list would be a big help.

I'm curious though, did Smogon build their dex database by hand? and Serebii? what about MetalKid's?. Pokemon lends itself so well to a database, I'd actually be suprised if there isn't a really good pokemon DB schema freely available somewhere (at least pre DP).

If I can't find anything I'll have to commission a small country to do data entry or something. So if you have any info please help me out! Thanks!
 
All the information is decently available in various regular formats, though getting a big regular list may require a bit of Googling. From there you can just write an AWK script to transform it into any sort of schema you want.
 
If you download MetalKid's app, it comes with an Access database up to RSE. The updated database for D/P should be out soon.
 
sweet! I didn't know MetalKid had the source available for download.

Do you think MetalKid would mind me borrowing the data for a site i'm making? I'm playing around with the idea of making a little site that would let people post their DP pokemon to set up wifi trades (a little like your trading board Surgo, but with a bit more to it).

To be honest I don't know how far i'll get with it, but this data would really help me out. Anyway, thanks for the help!
 
I don't mind. Though, I was probably going to do the same thing, but let people make create the Pokemon they have inside the program and then post it to the website for trade if they want. Then they could look at trades in the program or online.
