First off, I would like to say that this is my first post ever, so I apologize if something is wrong.
I am a rookie competitive battler, and don't go by smogon rules often. So far I do not like switching out my pokemon, maybe because of there frailty I dunno. I tried focus items and didn't like using choice items. I don't know how to do the calculations So, here is my team.
Galvantula with Focus Sash
Compound Eyes
Timid
252 Spa/252Sp/4hp
Thunder
Compound Eyes
Bug Buzz
Thunder Wave
I have found Sticky Web to be extremely useful, allowing my pokemon to outspeed in some crucial moments, so this is my most commonly used lead. I'll try to call it out for every pokemon. Thunder Wave is an can be helpful as Galvantula can occasionally thunder wave a faster lead and be able to get a web off thanks to the focus sash. Thunder's accuracy is boosted by Compound Eyes, and this guy needs the power. Bug Buzz hits past Subs. (which I occasionally use this guy for)
(shiny) Salamance with Salamancite
Intimidate, then Arielate
Adamant
252Att/252Sp/4hp
Double Edge
Earthquake
Roost
Dragon Dance
My team mega and physical sweeper, when it sets up and I play it right, its almost unstoppable. Double Edge hits everything hard except for Steel, Rock and Electric which Earthquake hits hard for on everything not named Skarmory, Thunderous and maybe Areodactyl. Salamance can wall some weak physical pokemon then roost and set up. I try to avoid going against other dragons. Sticky Web helps me outspeed guys like Garchomp before going mega (intimidate helps too) I used to run protect to get the speed boost but I then discovered Sticky Web and decided it wasn't worth the moveslot. Didn't like Dragon Claw's power Dragon Rush's accracuy and Outrage's lock
Vaporeon with Leftovers
Water Absorb
Calm
252hp/100SpD rest in Def
Scald
Wish
Heal Bell/Baton Pass
Protect
My cleric. Scald for burn chance. Wish is for healing, but Ive had a hard time pulling this off because I dont like to switch. Protect is to delay for Leftovers, any passive damage I might if inflicted, and to guarantee Wish works, is somewhat predictable, so sometimes I mix it up and go for a risky scald. Baton was for a slow switch (which went against Sticky Web) but I know use Heal Bell. considering switching to Slyveon and running the same thing (Hyper Voice for Scald though) I use this over the blobs to take physical hits somewhat better
Garchomp with Rocky Helmet
Rough Skin
Adament
252att/252sp/4hp
Outrage
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Swords Dance
Another Physical attacker, don't like that its a dragon also ( I used to run mega ttar) Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin have been enough to get the KO sometimes, even if Garchomp died for it. I try to avoid Outrage because of the lock. Sticky Web helps against other Garchomp and Weavile (without Ice shard)and is the reason I don't use Jolly. Considering switching out for someone else
Starmie with ???
Natural Cure
Timid
252 SpA/252Sp/4hp
Scald
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Rapid Spin
My spinner. I've thought about moving the ev from Spa to Hp, but I don't want this guy to be dead weight against teams that don't use hazards. If I do move them, I use recover in place of thunderbolt Forestess was originally my spinner but it was dead weight to often. I don't like having more than one water type so I may switch this one out. Looked up some Excadrill sets and they were all scarfed. Been thinking about not running a spinner aferall
honestly, I don't know what to use for the last slot but here is what I've been using, hang on because your about to see 5 more sets
Gengar with Bright Powder
Levitate
Timid
252Spa/252Sp/4hp
Will o wisp
Hex
Sludge Bomb
Taunt
I use this guy to stop clerics, physical attackers, and a lead if I think they will try to counter Galvantula or I see a bothersome lead that I can taunt. I use bright powder because I don't know what item to give it, and any miss is crucial with this one The set speaks for itself right?
Feraligatr with Life Orb
Sheer Force
Adament
252Att/252sp/4hp
Waterfall
Ice Punch
Crunch
Dragon Dance
Sheer force plus Life Orb = big damage boost. Snag a dance whenever I can and sweep away. Surprisinly effective. It doesn't seem to look like much writing it down but it works. However this is a 3rd water type. Not good. Occasionally lead if I think a fire or rock type is going to ruin Galvantula's day. Appreciates Sticky Web
Torterra with Leftover/Sitrus Berry
Overgrow
Adament
252att/252hp/4sp
Earthquake
Woodhammer
Stone Edge
Synthesis/Crunch
't run
Honestly, I wonder if this is worth using. Its been... just there in testing. Not notably bad or good just meh... just really underwhelming. Eq and Stone edge provide nice coverage. Wood Hammer hits hard and Crunch is not preferred but finishes coverage. Item depends of Vapeoreon has Leftovers
Staraptor with Life Orb
Reckless
Jolly
252 att/252sp
Brave Bird
Close Combat
U turn
Roost
Pretty much Feraligatr that hits harder ( I think) but suffers serous recoil. Packs more punch ( or peck) than Talonflame
That's. I think the team was better before I introduced Starmie and Vaporeon who are reactions to status and hazards but then I had to two of the latter four which is much more balanced typewise but it devastated by will o wisp. I don't like my ice weakness, my up to 3 water and sometimes my double dragon. Here is the last fifth member I warned you about
Scizor with ???
Technician
Impish
252hp/252 def/4att
Bullet Punch
Defog
Roost
U-turn/ Bug Bite
When I run this set I take out Galvantula and sometimes Vaporeon and Starmie and replace them with two of the above. This guy cover my ice weakness, removes hazards and walls physical pokemon.
So tell me what you think. Sorry for the holes and that I didn't put down just six.
