WORKING TITLE

i gather Pokemon (10?) and talk about the pokedex entries, where they came from (or where i think they came from), and stuff like that.

bulbapedia seems very helpful for this.

- FROSLASS (yuki-onna)
- DUNSPARCE (tsuchinoko)
- ARCANINE (ryukyuan)
- ALTARIA (Peng)
- CLAYDOL ("spaceman" clay figurine of the Japanese Jomon period and/or Arahabaki)
- ABSOL (Bai Ze)
- BRONZONG (a Japanese story about bells and a Mesoamerican reference)
- SPIRITOMB (Jibakurei) (jibs is that you???)
- SIGILYPH (Nazca lines and Kachina dolls)
- DARMANITAN (daruma doll and three wise monkeys)

While I'm sure you're both confident about your idea and that you spent plenty of time writing that post, I'm afraid fiction isn't something we're looking for while approving articles. I'll check with my fellow staff members later, but as of now, I can't approve this.

Edit: Thought about this further, and we HAVE actually approved articles before that were fictional in nature, ranging from subjects as Pokemon Biology to Pokémon suitable as christmas dishes. However, we do need to draw the line somewhere as we don't want articles to stray too far from either the games or the metagame our webzine aims to portray, and storytelling is one of the things that goes too far imo.

Hmm, okay. I think the best course of action for me with this idea would be to gather some Pokemon, read their PokeDex info, and then talk about what they are in ethics and values (or perhaps something different)... scrapping the story. I think I can link their PokeDex information based on their animal (or closest resemblance) in real life to make the article perhaps a little more interesting and informative. Wahh, storytelling is probably the best thing I can do and I've been thinking what I can write at The Smog for some time but I understand. Would this iteration be okay?

I like this idea, even with the storytelling tbh, the only real concern i'd have with the additional storytelling is the article getting drug out or too long

a kind of pokedex bioresearch article is pretty cool though imo

Yeah I'd be okay with it. Name what species you'd like to cover in the first post so that I can get a better idea of what you'd like to write about, but as Oglemi said, this could be a neat article. Although it might be better suited for Other Features instead of Entertainment, but then again, I know nothing of your writing capabilities so I won't rule anything out. :M

Okay, I changed it to Other Features and put 10 species into the first post after some research. I tried to avoid the generic animals (Mandibuzz is the California Condor and Braviary is the Bald Eagle, etc, not much to say about them) and pick the ones that seem harder to understand. I also avoided legendaries.
