Pokemon Uber Team (Hey!)

Hey People. I am pretty new to this Pokemon community, so if I make a mistake or something, please forgive me. Anyways, I have recently been enjoying playing Ubers in PO and PS. I think I have gotten fairly decent at it, and would like to improve, which is why I decided to do this RMT. I would like your feedback on my team and please tell my my weaknesses and how I could improve. Thanks a lot!

My Team
Jirachi, Kyogre, Latias, Arceus-Ghost, Giratina, Groudon

Lead

I really don't have a solid lead, but it depends on my opposing team on what my lead would be. For example, if they have a Kyogre as their lead, I will lead off with a latias and set up on it, and I wouldn't want to send in my Jirachi in on a Groudon, so my lead always switches. Regardless, lets get to my team.

Jirachi-1.gif

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 220 HP / 184 Attack / 32 Def / 40 SpD / 32 Spd
Careful
-Iron Head
-Protect
-Wish
-Toxic/Thunder Wave

Jirachi. SO CUTE! Anyways, my Jirachi is there to stall off the common walls, as well as soak up Draco Meteors and Outrages. the Iron Head is there for the STAB, as well as the flinching that many people hate. It does a good amount of damage and when racked up with Poison damage, most enemies, unless they are a physical wall, don't last long. Lugias may be able to roost for the couple of turns, but poison damage racks up quickly, and soon the poison damage does enough damage that roosting cannot make up for it. I also use this Jirachi for Latios and common dragon pokemon. If they lack HP Fire or a fire/ground type move, my Jirachi can stall them out with poison damage. The Iron Head flinch chances also increase by serene grace, and those flinches come pretty often. And even if a Groudon decides to switch in, I can poison it and switch out to another pokemon. Plus with the addition of rain from my Kyogre, the fire attacks won't be doing enough to kill my Jirachi. The only main weakness is ground, which I can easily overcome. Also, many people for some reason while battling thinks fighting type moves are super effective. I've seen multiple Mewtwos firing Aura Spheres and I get 30% damage, while I Toxic them. Sure Fighting is super effective against steel but fighting does 1/2 damage to Psychic. Love the typing.

Kyogre @ Lum Berry
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Satk / 252 HP / 4 Speed
Timid
-Thunder Wave
-Scald
-Thunder
-Ice Beam
The omnipresent Kyogre. Almost all teams have it, and that includes me. My Kyogre is there for the rain, as well as thunder waving pokemon for Jirachi. The Scald is also there for the STAB, which does good amount of damage to any pokemon that doesn't resist it, and OHKOing pokemon that are weaker. Thunder is there to deal with other Kyogres. My strategy is to thunder wave it, then Thunder it. Even if the Kyogre kills me, I can still revenge kill it due to its lowered speed from Twave. I find that Scald does enough damage for me and I know Water Spout does huge amount of damage, but I lack Rest, and I feel the other moves are more important. Ice Beam I believe is needed for all teams, as it can OHKO rayquaza and do satisfying damage to dragon pokemon. Most Rayquazas tend to go for the dragon dance in my case, so I kill it off with an ice beam, and even if it has a focus sash, I can switch to my Jirachi to take the outrage or whatever and iron head it. The Lum Berry is very important to my Kyogre. Many teams these days run toxics spikes, and this gives me an opportunity to switch in my Kyogre once. Also, when I Know that the Darkrai will lead, i send my Kyogre, and the Darkrai will go for a Dark Void (obviously) which is where my lum berry comes in, and killing the Darkrai with a Scald most of the time (unless they have focus sash) but not many darkais in my case had focus sash.

Latias @ Soul Dew
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 164 HP / 204 SpA / 140 SpD
Timid
-Light Screen
-Calm Mind
-Dragon Pulse
-Roost

Ah Latias. The ultimate Kyogre counter. I just love my Latias. This Latias is my counter for Kyogres, Groudon (lacking Dragon Claw), and most Mewtwos.
The Soul Dew is like a free Calm Mind, making my SpD high even when its already high. Many users in my encounter know that Ice Beam is super effective against a dragon type. So the Kyogre goes for Ice Beam continuously. The Ice Beam does squat though, since my SpD are so high. with Light Screen up, Ice Beam does less than 15%, and the other attacks tickle my Latias. Even the dreaded Water Spout does 30-40%, without Light Screen ( unless it gets a Crit, man those are annoying). While the Kyogre goes for Ice Beams, I go for Calm Minds, and when the Kyogre gets annoying, just kill it off with a Dragon Pulse. Its like Kyogre is setup bait. And with Latias' high speed, I can perform a sweep sometimes, if his other pokemon are slower. Same goes for Mewtwo. Mewtwo may be powerful, but his Ice Beams do squat. Latios may be stronger, but I prefer Latias, since she's a girl (that reveals my gender!). Roost is there to recover damage, and Dragon Pulse is there for STAB and the main attack, killing most things with a few calm minds thanks to the Kyogre. I think everyone should have a Latias, but again don't, since I want to have the advantage.

Arceus-Ghost @ Spooky Plate
Trait: Multitype
EVs:4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly
-Swords Dance
-Shadow Force
-Brick Break
-ExtremeSpeed

Pretty standard arceus-ghost maybe with the exception of the Shadow Force. This pokemon is usually the last pokemon or second last I bring out, and I eliminate all the major threats prior to bringing my arceus out, such as a Giratina, Arceus forms, and Skarmory. I bring Arceus and usually start up a Swords Dance or go for a shadow force. An unboosted Shadow Force's power is insane on Arceus. With one Swords Dance, it can OHKO Giratina, Lugia, Zekrom, Rayquaza, Kyogre, Reshiram (this is from smogon btw), and 2HKO the entire uber tier. If the opposing team doesn't have a counter to a shadow force, their doomed. Brick Break and Extreme Speed covers up the rest of the gap. Brick Break capable of OHKOing ferrothorn and excadrill, and ExtremeSpeed is for cleaning up weak pokemon. With Stealth Rocks damage, I saw that Shadow Force becomes much more deadly, so I make sure my Groudon sets up a Stealth Rock. Arceus is just always a fear to everyone. I chose Timid over Adamant, because you usually want to win the speed tie with an opposing Arceus, and while the opposing pokemon has more power, I attack first, destroying them in the process.

giratina-origin.jpg

Giratina-O @Griseous Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 116 SpA / 108 SpD / 32 Speed
Calm
-Calm Mind
-Substitute
-Dragon Pulse
-Aura Sphere

I guess you people already figured out that I like my EVs spreaded. I don't know if this is effective, and since I'm pretty new to this game, I would like you to tell me if this is effective. Thanks.

Surprisingly, I sweep quite often with this giratina. Its just such a beast. I usually switch in my Giratina when I know the opposing pokemon can't do jack shit to me, such as a blissey, or any of those hazard setup pokemons. While my Aura Sphere won't do much in the beginning, I set up a substitute, and its seismis toss won't affect me since I'm a ghost type, and I would go straight for calm minds. Basically they're setup bait. If they decide to switch in a dragon type such as a Palkia, its spacial rend will break my sub, but my dragon pulse will take it out with ease, thanks from my calm minds boosts. And due to my Speed EVs, I will outspeed base speed 90 pokemon unless they have a choice scarf or something. The Aura Sphere is for the ferrothorn,
2HKOing it most of the time, and normal types such as an arceus or blissey which after calm minds, can KO it. The Original forme also grants me immunity to toxic spikes and spikes which is the primary reason I switched it from the altered version. Hence only two of my pokemon are affected by toxic spikes, when including the lum berry kyogre. I know many giratina users use shadow sneak, but I only bring out my giratina when I know I can bring up a substitute up successfully. So eventhough the shadow sneak can take out the sub, my dragon pulse will get rid of it clean. Also shadow ball is a nice option, but when theres a mewtwo or a lugia, I can switch to my Jirachi and toxic stall it (unless the mewtwo has fire blast, which then i'm Fcked!) so I chose to go with Aura Sphere, to hit those Dialgas super effectively.

groudon.jpg

Groudon @Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 28 Def / 224 SpD
Careful
-Dragon Tail
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast
-Stealth Rock

Groudon, is essential in Ubers in my opinion because of the way too common Kyogre, and its Water Spout can RAPE teams if you're not careful, Thats why I have no EVs on Speed, so that my Drought comes last and the weather stays sunny. And i would be an idiot if I would stay in on a Kyogre, so I would switch to my Latias and start walling the crap out of the Kyogre. Dragon Tail is there to phaze out setupers like Rayquaza, Arceus formes, and it also hits Dragons super effectively, and you get the occasional critical hits with this dragon tail, which I got once on a Latias and it KOed it! The player got so mad and rage quited. Anyways, Stealth Rocks is there for the essential hazard which does good damage to Rayquaza and Ho ohs. I invested my EVs into SpD because the defense is already good enough and not worth investing into, so my SpD groudon can survive Ice Beams and Draco Meteors while giving them damage with my STAB earthquake, which will definitely leave a mark on their pokemon. Fire Blast is there for dealing with Ferrothorns, and many ferrothorn users always go first for their first layer of spikes whenever they enter, so I go for the Fire Blast, making the Ferrothorn into scrap metal. Scizors also dislikes switching into a Fire Blast, or an Earthquake. For people that say I should go with Fire Punch, it just doesn't do enough for me, and I really need to OHKO that ferrothorn cuz otherwise its a huge pain in the ass. Although not a true counter, Groudon can take an Ice Beam from a Gensect, and if it chose to stay in and not U-turn like a coward, a Fire Blast will make Gensect into charred metal.

Notes

This is my team, and I hope I can gain some advice and thanks for helping me out. I really appreciate it. Also, I would like some advice on how to deal with the following pokemon. Ho-oh, and Groudon with Rock Polish. I don't really know how to counter these correctly. the Groudon I try to be a step ahead of them and toxic them, but Ho-oh just seems to rape my team with Sacred Fire and Brave Bird. Also, I know many people have a choice something pokemon on each team, and I would want to know if there is a pokemon that I could use for a choice specs or scarf or band or if its not needed because I really don't like having to switch pokemon to use another move. I seem to be fine while playing online, winning most of the matches and getting in a pretty high rank. Regardless, any feedback is welcomed, and thanks for helping me out!

Hi, I can't do a full rate now but I can make some suggestions.

Firstly, change Groudon to a physical bulky set. Like I said, I can't give a full rate so the set I will post later. This will help with your Ho Oh and Groudon problems. It also won't take away from the defensive checks as Groudon walls almost no Special pokes that Jirachi/Latias can.

Secondly, please explain some of the EV spreads. Why does Latias have timid and 204 SpA wih no speed, and why does it have the HP and SDef that is does. Please do this for all the pokes.

Thirdly, explain why you picked Arceus Ghost over the other types. It is not mentioned.

Thanks! I don't really know how to correctly EV spread, so I would appreciate it if you would give me some options! I don't really know how EVs work, but if you would change the type from hardy to timid, would it outspeed another latias with base speed? Like I said I'm new to this game, so I don't know this. And I guess having a normal type Arceus may be better because I already have a spin blocker and a ghost type.
I know the EV spread should work well on the Latias, because its a Kyogre wall, its just that my understanding of the natures is not correct. But again, thanks for your help!

Alright so I can do the full rate then. Here is the Groudon set I mentioned in the other post
Groudon @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Roar
EQ and Rocks should be standard stuff. Stone Edge helps with your Ho-Oh problem and Roar is generally better than Dragon Tail for Groudon as the only thing taunting it would be Gliscor. 36 Speed EV's lets you creep on base 90's. Latias should handle Kyogre even in Rain so you don't need to run 30 Spd EVs.

No idea what the Jirachi EV spread is trying to do. I'd suggest changing Jirachi's EV's to 252 HP 248 Defense 8 Speed. It gives it very good Special Bulk while speed creeping base 90's that try to speed creep base 100's. (Probably confusing)

I will also suggest changing Kyogre's nature to Modest, moving 4 EVs in HP to Speed, and changing Scald to Surf. Timid is making no sense with that spread, Modest allows you for a power buff. The 248 EV's in HP allow for an odd number HP stat (403) which help against leech seed, stealth rock, etc. If you want, you can move some Special Attack into Speed to speed creep (like Groudon's spread). Finally, Scald doesn't help you very much, especially since you are running t-wave. Surf is a stronger alternative that does not weaken over time (Water Spout) nor misses (Hydro Pump).

For Latias PM me if someone else does not give a better set on Latias/Giratina. The EV's are a bit wonky. I don't really want to work on that right now.

Like you mentioned, you should probably change Arceus-Ghost to this Arceus-Normal spread.
Arceus @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 200 HP / 56 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- ExtremeSpeed
- Shadow Claw/Shadow Force
- Earthquake/Brick Break
Just choose the move you prefer and delete the move you don't want before you import that. 56 Speed outspeeds up to max speed neutral nature base 95's (it reaches 290). Max attack for power and the rest for bulk. Lum Berry is IMO the best E-Killer Arceus Item.

Just follow the bold and have fun.

Hey thanks so much for your feedback! I really aprreciated it! I just have one question though. If I remove my Fire Blast from Groudon, how would i take care of Ferrothorns?

Yeah, I would run an EKiller over Ghostceus as well as getting STAB on Extremespeed is really important for late game sweeps. However, Silk Scarf is a significantly better item than Lum Berry as you do not have Spikes support. Just be responsible with your EKiller and don't let it take a Will-O-Wisp and you will enjoy the increase in power. Lum Berry is simply not strong enough without the Spikes support.

+2 252+ Atk Arceus-Normal ExtremeSpeed vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Kyogre: 297-349 (73.51 - 86.38%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

vs.

+2 252+ Atk Silk Scarf Arceus-Normal ExtremeSpeed vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Kyogre: 355-418 (87.87 - 103.46%) -- 100% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

I like the rest of your team. I'd consider Thunder over Thunder Wave on Jirachi as it'll deal alright damage while nabbing a paralysis 60% of the time. Also, consider Roar on Latias over Light Screen as CM Arceus will be a major issue for this team otherwise (Groudon will not enjoy phazing them as it will take massive damage from a +1 Judgment from any Arceus form except Rock, Electric, and Steel). Substitute Calm Mind Arceus in particular are a major issue as Jirachi cannot status them and Dragon Tail will not break Substitute. Roar Latias can fix this.

Cool team and good luck!

Note: Fire Punch can be used on Groudon. It OHKO's specially defensive Ferrothorn and deals massive damage to physically defensive Ferrothorn.

4 Atk Groudon Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Ferrothorn in sun: 368-436 (104.54 - 123.86%) -- guaranteed OHKO
