Aloha, following up on our most recent survey. After a near unanimous vote, the council has decided to ban Polteageist from SV UU.

Polteageist rose to higher usage as a wincon option on all HO archetypes during World Cup 2024. Even during that timeframe it was clear this pokemon was not specifically beneficial to SV Underused. Similarly to Moltres-Galar earlier in the gen, Polteageist has a win-now element that can be irritating to prep for and play around on a consistent basis, while not specifically adding much productive to the tier. With different tera and move options, it is extremely difficult to reliably counter with confidence in battle and in the builder. With its removal, certain cheese archetypes will be taken down a peg and non-sand BO structures can potentially see higher levels of consistency. Only time will tell, but the council has a hard time seeing a future where Polteageist is missed regardless.
With that being said, our next plan is to suspect test Quaquaval. Also due to the recent tiering survey, it is clear that the community feels strongly that the duck needs to be looked at for the greater good of the tier. The council also aligns with this outlook and we have decided to move forward with a suspect test, more news on this coming soon :)
