Hey peeps, Flygoner here with a team I've been working on for a while now. I built this team initially just before the release of Mega Lopunny and friends, and rotated Marshadow on it briefly. Dugtrio not being around gave me a chance to use it with a little more candor, and the team was fairly reliable on the Suspect Ladder (Coil ~ 2500). The team takes advantage of the core du jour of Specs Koko + Mixed KyuB by pairing it with additional Volt-Turn momentum and some snowballing with Magearna. Enjoy :toast:

EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Ice Beam / Hydro Pump
- Gunk Shot
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Greninja lives up to its name. Being so fast naturally and having such efficient coverage makes it an excellent choice for a Scarfer, as it checks many slower speed boosters like Magearna, Mega Swampert, and Zygarde. The move selection bares explaining: I've run both Hydro Pump and Ice Beam. Ice Beams advantages are obvious, but in the absence of Rock Slide, it can open you up to a sweep from threats like Volcarona and Magearna. Hydro Pump, being vastly more inaccurate, can be very helpful in situations like these if it hits. Gunk Shot is great for sniping Fairies and can actually KO Volcarona after rocks. U-turn is essential on Scarf Ninja, and HP Fire helps with Shift Gear Magearna and Scarf Kartana.

Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run / Knock Off
- Defog

Mega Beedrill is the biggest surprise of the team, but is actually the mon I built the team for originally. The fastest and one of the strongest U-turns in the tier coupled with an expansive move pool made it fodder for my imagination. Being able to force switches is very helpful for bringing in my wall-breakers, and it's effect on the Fairy-heavy meta should be obvious. Drill Run is what I use for the 3rd slot since it helps against certain Steel types, but Knock Off may be just as effective overall. As for the final slot...I have tried Toxic Spikes, Swords Dance, Roost, and Knock Off (4 attacks). But in terms of impact on the entire team and ability to use the move reliably, Defog rises above the rest. It is rather unexpected, but feels sort of like a Healing Wish from Latias, especially if my KyuB is at low health but is still useful.

- Hidden Power [Ice]

Koko actually used to be Life Orb with U-Turn and Taunt when the team was first built. But as the meta game shifts, the sets adjust. Specs makes Koko a huge problem to switch into, as even some resists have a hard time taking 2 of its hits. The set is what it is and does what it does, but not having flexibility on a Pokemon with such utility to the team can be annoying. Landorus-T is reason alone to spam HP Ice early game, since many players are eager to switch it into an Electric move.

- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

No need in giving much explanation here. It is simply the best at its job. I've gone with Helmet because I recognize how threatening Fighting and Steel types are to my team. But this mon should never be in for more than 2 turns because it is set up fodder fr

"Funfetti" Magearna was born out of my love of internet baking trends. It's attacks are the same color as sprinkles :) In all seriousness, I agonized over choosing Shift Gear or Trick Room, which is a bit dated. Shift Gear is awesome for most teams looking for a stand-alone sweeper, but I needed a sponge for Tapu Lele / Mega Alakazam and sometimes other Magearna. I wanted to keep up the pressure, so I went Trick Room over Assault Vest (though in all honesty that might work well here). Twinkle Tackle makes my heart skip a beat, since it nearly always nets a kill on something. In addition to this, I've brought a reprisal of the BoltBeam thread that runs through this team. In truth, the coverage can likely be optimized with Focus Blast / Aura Sphere / AoP, Flash Cannon / Corkscrew Crash, Gigavolt Havoc / Subzero Slammer, or HP Fire. It's an exciting sweeper when it gets going.
252+ SpA Magearna Twinkle Tackle (195 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Tapu Fini: 280-330 (81.6 - 96.2%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Magearna Twinkle Tackle (195 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 253-298 (62.6 - 73.7%)

Not quite Marshadow, but just as devastating. Kyurem brings order to a chaotic meta with nigh-unbreakable defensive cores thanks to its divine coverage. It is the personification of Bolt Beam, and with Electric Terrain support it can 6-0 many defensive builds. With minimal investment it dispatches of everything that doesn't resist it, and the few things that do get wrecked by it's special moves. You'll want him to get plenty of airtime when you're up against Rain or anytime you see Celesteela + Toxapex + Mega Venusaur. If you're unsure of what to do with him, just be very aggressive.

4 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-Black Fusion Bolt vs. 252 HP / 132+ Def Celesteela in Electric Terrain: 351-413 (88.1 - 103.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
4 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-Black Fusion Bolt vs. 252 HP / 192+ Def Toxapex in Electric Terrain: 250-296 (82.2 - 97.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-Black Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 156+ SpD Venusaur-Mega: 250-296 (68.8 - 81.5%)

Threats

786.png

No switch-ins. It's easier to keep it out of the battle until the end if it's Specs since my team is so fast. But if it's scarf...then I gotta let Magearna take damage or take 50/50's with Greninjas. Mag can take a hit from Specs so it's not a lost cause.

308-m.png

Fighting types are hard for me to switch in to, and these 3 represent a huge threat to the team. Beedrill mitigates this since it can revenge kill after a KO, but once these guys are in, they'll almost certainly get a kill. Only hope is to keep them out of battle until I can get Mag under TR.

Don't be careless if you see this thing and suspect it might be SD. Rather, assume it's SD and bring in Greninja and then start praying.
