Potential xy sun team

Hey guys this is my first post on smogen and I'm new to competitive gaming, I used to play a lot of pokemon back in the day, up to rse but have recently bought pokemon x and want to build a sun team, here are my current ideas, any advice would be appreciated,

Ninetails @ heatrock
Drought
Modest nature
4hp, 252 spA, 252 speed
Fireblast or overheat?
Will o wisp
Safeguard?
Solar beam

Ninetails is obviously there to set up drought and he has the heat rock to extend it, Fireblast or overheat for damage, I thought maybe overheat seeing as he's not really there to last so he can maybe get a good ko in and the stat reduction isn't a big deal, solar beam for obvious reasons and maybe safeguard, protect or light screen but I don't know if ninetails will be in play long enough to take advantage of it

Venusaur @ megastone or leftovers
Chlorophyll
Timid nature
252 hp, 86 def, 170 spD, not sure about this ev spread
Solar beam
Sludge bomb
Leech seed
Growth/synthesis?

Forretress @ leftovers maybe?
Sturdy
Relaxed nature
252 hp, 150 def, 106 spD
Rapid spin
Spikes
Gyro ball
Maybe infestation?

Talonflame @?
Gale wings
Adamant nature
4 hp, 252 atck, 252 speed
Brave bird
Roost
Swords dance
???

Altaria @ life orb
Natural cure
Brave nature
160 atck, 140 spA, 96 spD, 112 def
Earthquake
Heat wave
Sunny day
Roost

Altaria is here to set up sunny day again and deal some serious damage, I went for an even ev spread but am not sur if this is a good idea seeing as most people go for the 4, 252, 252 on all their pokemon, he has roost to recover some of that damage done by the life orb

For my last pokemon I was thinking a mega evolved lucario if I don't use venusaurs mega evolution or an aurorus or Sylveon to take out dragons, please tell me what you think and how I could make my team better, thanks.

On a sun team, Venusaur is much better non-mega.
It loses its speed when it goes mega because its ability is changed to Thick Fat

I would recommend going for a different option in Altaria due to the 4x ice weakness and a weakness to SR.

Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Go with life orb on Talonflame

Yeah I did think that but I thought venusaur could take a lot of hits especially with thick fat plus he has leech seed to recover some damage each turn, although if not I would probably give him black sludge or leftovers if I manage to get a third copy of the item, how about a mega evolved lucario with swords dance, extreme speed, and maybe a strong steel attack??? As with altaria I initially wanted a dusclops to set up sunny day also with maybe trick room and some defensive moves, maybe protect and light screen but is currently unobtainable to me, I already traded out my legendary and don't really have much left to offer other than pokemon I want to keep

Might actually want to sub in Mega charizard Y with alt aria because it can get sun up again without haveing to waste a turn and can hit hard with its titanic spA.

However, you might want to put in some water and rock resists in there to prevent weaknesses.

Ironically, a sun team's worst enemy is fire. As such, trying to use bulky Venusaur isn't the best of ideas.

That being said, with Chlorophyll, a little bulk and Giga Drain couldn't hurt.

Also, consider Heliolisk. With Solar Power, he can hit pretty damn hard. His Hyper Beam pretty much annihilates anything that doesn't resist it.

But something about that helioisk
Someone could just switch in a relatively bulky steel type or blissey and set up while hyper beam is on cool down.

EDIT: Also put HP ice on ninetales as with that current moveset he's completley walled by dragons

Hyper Beam isn't your standard attack; that would be Thunderbolt. You use Hyper Beam if you're about to die and you want to take something down before you do.

Volt Switch is another great option. Surf is good too, depending on how much time you have with no sun.

I wouldn't recommend Surf though because you might want to switch out to ninetales to get that sun back up so surf would be nerfed with all of the time in the sun.

Hello.
Your descriptions are too short to fit the RMT rules requirements.
I encourage you to PM me an updated version of this team with beefed up descriptions, and since you're new, to join the Mentor Program. I'll be unlocking this thread after that.

Have a nice day.
