Power split does not tell either player their new attack / special attack stats. Rest assured the stat changes are recorded server side.

Yes the test was in gen 9 and your tests were in gens 5 (and 6 but you only linked 5 twice), but power split's code is unchanged between all generations so that shouldn't matter. Therefore this is not a bug.
