First RMT (and post!) loving the sims and am seeing some nice results with this. Any comments/ criticisms and help appreciated!
Sorry it's a little scarce on the explanations, I'm just not sure what to put yet!
Hows this look guys?
Espeon (F) @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Baton Pass
- Psychic
Lead and screen-setter-upper. Basically I just screen what I think i'll need (or both) and then baton to something to abuse it.
Heracross (F) @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
IVs: 1 Spd
- Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
- Swords Dance
Wall breaker and obligatory mega slot. Found he loves the screen support to get a swords dance in. Sometimes will use him to absorb status later with guts if I can predict it. His moves cover a lot of bases.
Dragonite (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
I love this guy. They think they can ice shard you then suddenly your sitting on a free DD and weakness policy ready to rip apart the enemy.
Chandelure (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
My revenger and really only main special muscle on the team. In testing he's there to eliminate threats and then just muscle through the rest. May change out fighting for ice or steel as togekiss seems to give my team trouble and i have yet to actually use the move more than twice.
Snorlax (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Wild Charge
To take the ice beams that would slay Dragonite or the Fireblasts that would wreck Heracross, there is this guy. Attacks are to provide team coverage and fit a nifty pursuit user in where it fits.
Bisharp @ Leftovers
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Night Slash
I love this pokemon in design and execution. If I can get a boost in he's a nightmare for the opponent, anything that doesn't resist dark gets mulched before it can move and then he headbutts fairies. Status really shuts him down so I'm considering switching to a cure berry but it needs testing.
So far I've had trouble dealing with Talonflame due to his priority and powerful physical attacks combined with my lack of a proper physical tank and Togekiss is actually quite hard to take down as I can't switch Heracross in because of air Slash and he can wear a Wild-Charging Snorlax down with Paraflinch.
Just as some extra background I also ran a version of this team with mixed Aegislash instead of Heracross and Mega Blastoise instead of Snorlax to perform similar roles. I took them out because I had a bit of a fire weakness that Snorlax helped clear up and also needed another ground resist, and also just found that mega Blastoise failed to do much other than kill the odd Hydreigon and clear a few Hazards that didn't seem to bother too much anyway.
