Pre-Poke’ Bank Meta Double's team

Good day everyone! This is my newest and well-oiled machine team that I have made so far. I have been battling this team online with some rating battles. I was having trouble at first with this team until I changed one Pokémon, and after I made that change my teams been on a winning streak. I battled it inside the Battle Institute and after 8 legendries and what not I Beat it and got a score of 5,411 Its not perfect but defiantly better then it was better than my last ones. In a quick team Composition my full roster is as follows.

This guy’s role is pretty simple I use him to set up for an easy sweep. I use Topsy-turvy on Noivern after he uses Draco Meteor so he will have a plus two Spa and then can go on a boom burst sweep, at that point Malamar will be switched out to avoid the friendly fire. Other than that his uses are for going against buff teams and intimidates. I have taunt there as well to interrupt setups. As well as Super power is just a great move for him to amp up some power to. His role only comes in for a few things and isnt always my pick in unless I know for sure ill be able to use him to his fullest.


Noivern @ life orb

Ability: Infiltrator
Evs: Hp:4 - Spa:252 - Spe:252
Nature: Timid
- Draco Meteor.
- Boom Burst.
- Dragon Pulse.
- Air Slash.
This guy is great and an outstanding threat. He is majority of the time my lead. Teamed up with Malamar I can T1 Draco Meteor and obliterate a target, then get +2 spa by Topsy-turvy. From there it’s a powerhouse! The other lead with him is Exploud, dual boom bursts that are devastating. The best part of this Pokemon is un-buffed there’s only a very few that can out speed him. I really enjoy this new dragon flying type and until Latios makes his come back threw the bank this will definitely be my dragon of choice. I just love his Ungodly speed.


Exploud @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Soundproof
Evs: Hp 252 - Spa:252 - Spd:4
Nature: Modest
- Boom Voice
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Flame Thrower
To go off Noivern, he is built to take a hit unlike the nuke bat dragon who gets focused down fast. I get a combo Boom Burst with him or even surf since, Noiverns unaffected by it.
With choice specs I get locked into boom burst but luckily it’s not only a big hitter but, having 2 Pokemon who don't get hit by it is great! Most of the time this Pokemon isn't even targeted until it is too late for them. Exploud is just a great member of this team and the only thing he doesn't destroy is ghosts sadly even when its not very effective it still hits for a lot.


Gengar @ Gengarite

Ability: Levitate
Evs: Hp:4 - Spa:252 - Spe:252
Nature: Modest (Soon to be re-breeding for timid)
- Hex Shadow ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Thunder Bolt
- Dazzling Gem
Before I go into Gengar, I want to just say I HATE FAIRIES! So naturally I need an anti-Fairy and this is my guy. It’s a pretty standard Gengar with a mega form. This one is Modest currently but I will be re-breeding one to timid. Hex Shadow ball and sludge bomb are my stabs for him while Thunder bolt and dazzling gem are my coverage moves. Thunder bolts on him because my only answer to a Rain team is a Fire type who is still awesome but always can use back-up. This Pokemon Follows up with allowing me to Boom Burst the enemies while not killing allies off so he made a good fit into this team.

Edit: i really do miss hex, missed a lot of great times to use it. I rarely use ghost attacks on him unless it was for hex's added damage. Gengar was more of my coverage type for Pokemon i would have trouble with.

Absol @ Razor claw

Ability: Super Luck
Ev:Hp:4 - Atk:252 - Spe:252
Nature: Naive
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Sucker Punch.
- X-Scissor -Sword Dance
This guy is pretty standard, he is my psychical sweeper. He has his priority attack to knock out major threats like mega Gardevoir, Gengar and Alakazams. With super luck I don’t have to go mega form all the time unless it’s needed his crit rate with night slash and psycho cut are crazy high. X-scissor is in there for additional coverage against fellow dark types. The reason he is Naive is only do to the fact that he use to have fire blast as a anti steel fairy attack, X-sissor is now where fire blast use to exist. O as well as he is my Shiny, so naive will be sticking with him.

Edit: I removed his mega stone and replaced it with razor claw, after trying it out with also adding sword dance his power is pretty crazy and doesn't even need to go mega form. I feel he is pretty solid,


Charizard @ Mega-Y

Ability: Solar power
Evs: Hp4 - Spa 252 - Spe252
Nature: Timid
- Air slash
- Heat Wave
- Solar Beam
- Dragon Pulse
Ok, the odd ball of the group. As well as the newest member in my roster. Weather and steel bulky types where a pain to deal with and this is my answer to what my team was weak against. Since I have added him my win streak sky rocketed. With the ability to weather change on first turn, then nuking a threat down. I normally team him up with Noivern, they do really well together. I only go mega form if it’s a weather team or I need that solar beam. Otherwise will save it for another mega Pokémon. I Love Charizard he is my favorite Pokémon to. He was the first pokemon I got with all 6 stats having perfect Iv’s as well. If you want to see a good reason why he is in the team watch this battle videogfhn-wwww-www2-s8qx (I miss played a couple times and screwed my self and almost coasted me but luckily this guy came threw).



Double battles
Normal team fights start with Exploud and Noivern depending on what the enemy team is if there a setup team or against a team where Noivern isn't going to die in one turn If Noivern goes down I switch into Gengar who can remain unaffected while Exploud continues is Bursts. Ill use Malamar to Draco Metoer for the instant +2 spa and then on second turn switch Malamar out to hit the 140 Aoe blaster! Other team starts I’ve used is Charizard Noivern to counter weather teams rain teams have been a joke since I added Charizard.


I have only used this team mostly on the game it self I tried a few on showdown and won 5 in a row and stopped. On the Game cartridge I have done close to 50 battles with a dozen ratted battles, with a really impressive win streak going currently 23, I've only had the win streak since adding my Charizard to the team. I've had some close fights with this team but each time this team gets rolling its hard to stop it. majority of that reason is it doesn't seem like a lot of people think Explouds a big threat. They always worry about that other 5 Pokemon first and he ends up doing the most damage.

Lastly one might wonder why would I use 3 Mega-Pokemon? Simple if you have one, people know who to counter against. Two? well still you know who you generally will be dealing with. Now 3 you know you will be fighting one but you wont know which one, making target that potential Mega type allowing my second guy to be more safe of getting that attack off. Plus the variety of three nukes are awesome. As well as this, as soon as not only Latios is available... Draco-topsy-turvey will be insane with that mega form and I can't wait to add him in!

I won't give this a full rate yet for one particular reason: your three Pokemon with Mega stones are all pretty much worthless without Mega Evolving. The way to pull off three Mega Evolving Pokemon is to use inconspicuous ones - this essentially boils down to Scizor, Heracross, Tyranitar, Garchomp, and Abomasnow, and maaaaybe Kangaskhan or Blaziken if you're providing a lot of support. Gengar without Mega Evolving is too weak to do anything, Absol is slow, and Charizard has too many common weaknesses and not enough benefits to make up for them. You're essentially using two Pokemon that you shouldn't be using in the first place.

Also, get rid of Hex. You have no status moves to take advantage of it with.

(side note: Battle Spot and the Doubles metagame are very different, you should specify which one you're playing.)

Edited the team after trying a vairity of different Pokemon. I tried to sub out gengar but still wanted a ghost for the boom burst not being able to hit it. Aegislash didnt sync well with the team and it ended up coming back to Gengar since he really covers my weakness's well for me. I tried to trade out sadly my absol but again soon as i swapped him is when i needed him. in the end trading an item best suited my team. I also swapped hex for a bit with shadow ball and alas i ran into great times to use it but didn't have it. Charizard is pretty much staying his coverage he gives me to go with Noivern and Exploud has helped a lot. so at minimum i will have around 2 mega's. The Drought he gives to throw off weather teams is needed so i dont get powered down to fast like against rain teams
