You would need to write explanations and your reasoning behind each detail you put into them. EV spreads too/ But I can comment on Alakazam though :)

I can understand Psychic as a STAB and shadow ball to check fellow psychics/ghost types. Id consider Psyshock as many threats nowadays are weaker on defense then SD. It is really a personal preference.

But energy ball? Grass attacks have 7 resistances and only 3 types SE against. The main check I can think of is against Tyranitar, but then again Focus Blast is far more effective, and the fighting attack has far more uses then a grass attack.

The last move is also personal preference. Normally HP Fire is good as it checks the Scizors/Ferrothorns/Forretress. Dazzling Gleam kinda is misplaced because psychic stab covers poison, and Focus Blast can cover the dark types. Its just Dragons that he would have trouble with, but then it depends what you fear more: dragons or steel. HP Fire/Ice would do you well.

As for the item, Life orb is tempting, but you know Alakazam will be likely OHKO by almost any attacks thrown his way. This Pokemon was built for the Focus Sash. At least keep a sash handy so you can shift his tactics in between battles if you see fit.

Hope this helps :)

Honestly, I would think that focus blast is outclassed by dazzling gleam on alakazam rather than the other way around. FB misses a lot and steels can be covered via a hidden power.

Well so does Stone Edge yet enough people seem to use it. Seems like the best way to OHKO a very overused Tyranitar and dark types in general these days. Hydrogen Peroxide Dragon comes to mind. Plus the inherent checks that a fighting move offers (5x SE as opposed to 3x SE for Fairy) outclasses the checks that Gleam offers, since Psychic/Focus Blast would cover 2/3 of its uses. And if you miss....that is what the sash is for :)

I did also offer the HP fire/Ice as a move.

Hey, first timer here, but I've played the games forever.

For Umbreon, I see you're using a favorite set of mine: CurseBack. I'd say to get the nature Sassy (+SDef, -Spe) to help work with Payback and boost the best stat (curse makes up the defense side well). I'd prefer Wish on my set with a bulky EV spread just to be able to pass Wishes, but I can understand using Moonlight if you aren't running Protect and don't have the bulk.

I seem to have bad luck with lower accuracy moves and confusion. If my accuracy is less than 100 I always miss, if I am confused I always hit myself. :(
That is why I chose Dazzling Gleam because it seems a lot more likely to hit.
I have been torn over the Focus Sash and Life Orb. Alakazam gets OHKO if he stubs his toe but on the other hand the Life Orb has helped me OHKO something it would normally THKO.
Thank you for your feedback, GeneralMLD.

You were definitely right about Alakazam needing a Focus Sash. I think I am going to breed a sturdy Aggron and give Alakazam the sash.

I had too close a call in a battle where Aggron was OHKO and so was Alakazam before he was able to set out Stealth Rock.
