Hey guys, would like to share a new OU team that I have been playing with for a while now.
As with most of the game a bit of prediction is needed to this team and some surprises are in store for opponents.
Without much ado ...team..
Le team in detail
Lantern (Espeon) (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick
- Psychic
I build this lead just to scout, usually have to change it for wifi battles..but all the same...people see a lead espeon, immediately think dual screens, and send there scizor in to DIE to a spec HP fire. Otherwise the move is usually psychic, shadow ball for coverage(looking at you Jellicent) and trick to cripple blissey who wall her (I usually run female). Modest nature just to pack that extra punch, I did run a scarf espeon (similar set) but I like the power of the specs.
Moo (Mamoswine) (M) @ Ice Gem
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock
Ah yes, my hazard setup. (Not that I get it up most of the time). Easy to bluff a band with earthquake if you don't reveal rocks, then hit the flying type with a boosted surprise shard to take em out or weaken them to a point where they wanna switch out and then quake 'em or even setup rocks.
Ball-of-Doom (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Iron Barbs
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
- Shadow Claw
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion
- Power Whip
Please remember to 0 speed IV on this guy. Banded Gyro ball OHKO a garchom who thinks he can setup on this guy. Power whip for the dual stab and sometimes it's nice just to explode on someone just for funsies.
Justice (Terrakion) @ Choice Band
Trait: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Quick Attack
I love CB Terrakion. Close Combat decimates stuff. Period. I have this guy as a sort of counter to the bulky wisp rotom people carry, but Latios can usually deal with him as well as espeon. Stone edge for coverage and I placed quick attack there for some surprise priority to revenge kill.
Hero (Latios) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Trick
If you don't see steel pokemon in the lineup, this guys gonna be dropping dracos...boom. Comes in to Gengars who think they can stay in, blissey move over to psyshock, though not having the specs hurts.
But then again I have 3 pokes for Blissey/Chansey so not really worried.
Bugzilla (Scizor) (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SDef
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Le standard Scizor. nuff said. Trap them ghosts, turns on Jirachi otherwise all this guy does is BP all the way to the bank.
Threats.
Some pokemon I have trouble with is CM Jirachi in the rain. If scizor is around to turn on them, then not so much, also Mamo to quake, BUT they usually carry water pulse to kill him off and once they are behind a sub pretty much gg.
Agility thunduras - if gems already used up and rocks not up. But we have BP also. If either of them are dead before this guy sets up then Focus Blast kills.
Rotom-W - Bane of my existence. Wisp'ing away at everything, then painsplits off the damage. Drop a draco, bounce a wisp and psychic OR predict the switch to Scizor (usually paired for the volt/turn) and kill with HP fire.
SD Scizor - Kill this thing before they setup with dance. TBH I have noticed people just go for the BugBite rather then BP when they see this guy. Dunno why (after SD BP ftw against espeon)but I am down the ladder so maybe thus.
I would love to hear critique and especially improvements as well as any thoughts/threats that I need to work against.
As with most of the game a bit of prediction is needed to this team and some surprises are in store for opponents.
