Hi guys.

I'm not new to competitive battling at all. I play mostly as Seeker9, on Pokemon online ( I just prefer it). I play as Seeker(Real) on Smogon now.
This is a team I have been playing with quite a bit, and have stayed consistently around the 1500 rating (rating works very differently in Pokemon Online). However I think I need a little help in pushing this team over the edge.

As an aside, I am no EV master, sometimes I just EV things however I see fit, so feel free to point out any problems with the EV spreads.

Why did I name the team pressure? Because that's how I like to play. Keep the pressure on the opponent, make him mispredict, double switch/ don't give him a breath. Its not exactly hyper offense, but each switch must be a good one, and each Pokemon must be able to threaten in it's own way.

P.S. This team has pokemon from all the Generations, which I thought is pretty cool.

Ok so onto the team :

Tyranitar (F) @ Expert Belt

Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 112 HP / 104 Atk / 200 SAtk / 92 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)

tyranitar.png

- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Superpower
- Crunch

Tyranitar's main job is to change the weather to put it bluntly. Having Tornadus spamming Hurricanes is not my idea of fun. However, this set does so much more than that. The set is slightly unconventional, but it can put a serious dent in almost everything (bar Conkeldurr). It also acts as a nice bluff, allowing a Crunch "locked" TTar to KO Ferrrothorn with Flamthrower, Lando-T/Garchomp with Ice beam/Terrakion with Superpower etc. Flamethrower over Fire Blast because there are few things worse than missing at a crucial moment. In actual fact, I only have 1 move with imperfect accuracy on this team (Fire Fang), and thats 95% so it can be forgiven.

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

keldeo.png

-Calm Mind
- Secret Sword
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Ttar's tag team partner. I seriously think this thing should be suspected. It hits so much of the metagame for good damage. It resists bullet punch, has good defenses, great typing, great special attack and speed and hits on both side of the spectrum, theres not much else it can get without becoming OU banned.

Leftovers are chosen over other items to increase its survivability in the sandstorm. Everyone suspects E-belt anyway, so I'm not losing much there. I usually lead with this, since it has so many favourable match-ups.

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

gyarados-f.png

- Waterfall
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Roar

Why Rest-Talk Gyara? With Scizor being (One of) the most common pokes around, its always good to have something that completely walls it.Its walls other things too (Common Jiraichi, Lando-I (which got banned on PO quite recently), Politoed, Non-HP electric Keldeo). Its other main job is getting rid of Brelooms spore without much damage being done. It also Intimidates Breloom, allowing me to switch in Jiraichi/ Gengar, and neutralise one of the games most potent threats.

It also has a decent attack without investment, and can fight favourably with the ever-present Landourus-T and even Garchomp (after intimidate).

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 220 Def / 252 SAtk / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

jirachi.png

- Stealth Rock
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My rock setter / Breloom-Conkeldurr Killer/Rotom denter / Landorus-T-Garchomp-Tentacruel surprise killer. Yeah all that. I'm happy with what Jirachi achieves. However a better EV spread would be greatly appreciated. If possible, one that outspeeds most Landorus-T's without sacrificing too much bulk (essential for loom/ Garchomp's that EQ).

This set also has a nice ability to net a Starmie kill if they try to too eagerly rapid spin me. Overall I'm happy with the set, but not entirely with the EV's

Gengar (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

gengar.png

- Shadow Ball
- Destiny Bond
- Substitute
- Disable

Enter WeirdGar. The set is very unexpected by most.In addition to spinblocking, Sub-Disable is used to escape Pursuits/ wall most Terrakions/ forced choiced users to switch/ properly spinblock Tentacruel. Destiny bond is to eliminate Scizors/Tentacruels/Jirachi's that are giving me serious issues. And it does this really well, since nobody expects it on a sub-disable set.

Gengar's nifty typing also comes in handy when I need a fighting/ground/Extremespeed immunity. He also walls Landorus-T completely(without Rock-Polish), and sets up a substitute on him. Celebi is also dealt with pretty nicely.

Garchomp (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

garchomp.png

- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
- Dragon Claw

Finally we have the cleaner. This is one of the first times I have used ScarfChomp ( I usually use the Sub-SD set), but I am really impressed. This thing has cleaned up lategame for me so many times that I will find it really hard to replace. A combinations of great speed/attack/STABs/ good defenses make this thing a potent scarfer. It outspeeds most of the tier (Notable exceptions are Scarf Keldeo and Terrakion). It also puts a serious dent in all the weather setters.

Moveset is standard, except for maybe Fire Fang > Fire Blast. This was done due to accuracy issues/ not wanting to change nature and hence sacrificing bulk.

EDIT: Changed to smaller sprites

Notable Threats:
Rotom-W-

I usually switch in Jiraichi and try to dent it with Psychic, and then clean it up with Keldeo/ Garchomp/Gengar. It poses a serious problem though.

HP-Electric Keldeo

It kills Gyara, which is a big problem. It can be revenged after prior damage, but still a serious problem.

Well-played Liligant -

My only grass resists are special attackers, and so this poses a big problem. Thankfully its pretty rare.

Starmie-

Annoying to play against, need to sac something usually.

Hey, in my old sand team (over a year ago) i used a specially defensive tyranitar. One reason for that was because you dont want to have a frail weather inducer incase you have a rough weather war. The other reason beeing that he is a pretty impressive special wall in a sandstorm, he can tank a draco meteor pretty well and he even survives a focus blast from a reuniclus. Making him specially defensive would allow you to make gyarados more offensive atho i like the set , dont see that one too often ^^

Hi, I have a few nitpicks here. On garchomp, I would replace fire fang with stone edge. This allows scarf gar chomp to outspeed and OHKO a volcorona with 1 quiver dance. Otherwise, your team is somewhat week to being swept by it.

I actually think that choice band Tyranitar with pursuit is the best version at almost guaranteeing you winning the weather war. It can trap ninetails and deal high damage with pursuit as it switches out. It can also trap weakened politoeds, but not specs politoed. Pursuit also helps keldeo out by traping and OHKOing latias, latios, and celebi.
Super power covers the same threats as flamethrower so flamethrower really isn't needed on the same set.

This is the most effective choice band set:

Tyranitar
Choice band
Adamant 180 HP/ 252 Attk/ 76 spe

Stone Edge
Crunch
Pursuit
Superpower

Hey there ParkerSeeker. Nice team you have so far and with this rate hopefully we can improve it. First thing I notice you are very Rain weak this is you because you only have one water resist being Gyarados. Who is taken out by Thundurus-T clearing the way for Hydro Pumps to ravage your team. Speaking of Thundurus-T if its able to get up an Agility its able to cleanly sweep through your team with very little previous damage done to your team. Lastly, some of your EVs spreads are really weird and don't seem to accomplish much of anything and are in need of being revamped.

First lets patch up your Rain Weakness. I'm going to suggest using Life Orb Latias over Scarfed Garchomp. (thanks macle :] ) Latias helps your team out in a few more ways then Garchomp does. Chomp makes for a great Sun check as it is a huge threat to sun team as it is able to beat Ninetales, Venusaur, Heatran and the likes. However in the Rain its very limited on what its able to do for you besides beating Tentacruel (which Latias does), and being a Revenge killer. Latias on the other hand is able to tank Hydro Pumps, check sun even able to sweep it and being able to prevent Agility Thundurus-T from making mince meat of your team. Latias's bulk, I feel like is more valuable here as its able to deal with Keldeo, Liligant, and Rotom-W to an extent.

380.png

Latias @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 144 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Roost

As for Jirachi I suggest trying the Calm Mind Set. The Calm Mind set accomplishes all of the things you current do with your Jirachi set now. Though this one has a better EV's spread and isn't bogged down trying to act as a Physical tank as well. Now with a couple boosts you can easily take out Conkeldurr, Rotom-W and very well be able to pull off its own sweep. With that EV spread you are able to outspeed standard Sub Kyurem-B to be able to set up and take it out with a Flash Cannon. You can also opt for Hidden Power Ground over Flash Cannon if you feel Kyurem-B isn't an issue and instead find Heatran more problematic for you.

385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 200 Spd / 252 SAtk / 56 HP
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon

Lastly for some minor changes. I would make Tyranitar the Specially Defensive set to allow you to still have Stealth Rocks and having enough bulk to deal come in on Latias, Latios, Celebi to trap them. This would ease Keldeo's job of sweeping.

Give Keldeo Hidden Power Ghost instead of Hidden Power Ice as this hits all of its common switching for Super Effective damage and doesn't leave you completely walled by Toxicroak.

Gengar's moveset don't make much sense to me. I don't see how it helps with take out Scizor with Destiny Bond when Scizor can Bullet Punch and kill it before it has a chance to Destiny Bond. I would just use Focus Blast over Destiny Bond since it's not that necessary for your team in my eyes.

tyranitar.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

Hope this help you out and good luck in the future with the team. If you need more help feel free to ask.

Hi guys, I have read the responses.

1. I Specs Latios has never been much of a problem. Now that I look at it, it looks like it on paper, but some good sacking, and predictions and the momentum stays with me.
2. I am really reluctant to change to band Ttar. I lost count of how many Lando-Ts / Garchomps/Scizors I nailed with the E-belt set, it really does its job (most of the time). Also little people expect special Jirachi, and the defensive ev's are to live Garchomps Eqs, and KO back.
3. I disagree with the rain weakness, but agree with the Thunderus-T weakness. Rain teams usually only carry Politoed and another water. Gyara walls all politoeds and most waters, so it hasn't been much of a problem. Double dance/ Agility Thunderus is a problem though.
4. I am extremely reluctant to change Garchomp, it's a semi win condition/Volcarona check and it has almost never let me down. I think rocks will stay on Jirachi too, it almost always does its job ( getting rocks up and denting / killing a poke).
3. I do however think that Gengar is inefficient. I currrently switched to a specs set, and it has been doing fine. I do however welcome any changes in this department.

Sorry if I haven't taken too much suggestions on board, but I have played many battles with this team, and I feel such major changes will shake this team up a bit too much.

I would openly welcome changes to :

Jirachis Evs
Keldeo's item/set
Gengar

Hope I don't come off as rude.
