Pretty God Damn Awsome

Hi there, my name is Vilgot and this is my first post on smogon. I've made a new team and I would like you to rate it, give it some feedback, suggest any other new pokemon, all that good stuff.

Heatran

Heatran@Leftovers
Calm
Flash fire
252HP/6SpecAtk/252SpecDef
Stealth rocks
Roar
Lava plume
Earth power

I use Heatran as lead because of his abillity to set up the rocks. He can also OHKO a Standard Ferrothorn (I think). Heatran have a really good spec def and and can wall many special threats such as:
A choiced Latios locked in on a dragon move.
All the special grass moves out there.
He also has flash fire which alows him to absorb fire type moves and make himself even stronger.

Gastrodon

Gastrodon@Leftovers
Calm
Storm Drain
252HP/112Def/144SpecDef
Scald
Earth power
Toxic
Recover

As you might see, I'm running the popular Heatran, Gastrodon core and it works really good. They both resists each others weaknesses. They both have pretty much the same abillty but still not. It's just an awsome core.
I have some Def ev's just to take physical hits just a little bit better but the SpecDef is still at a good level.

Skarmory

Skarmory@Leftovers
Impish
Sturdy
252HP/232Def/24Spe
Spikes
Whirlwind
Brave bird
Roost

Skarmory is probalby one of the best physical walls in the game. This is the 3rd and final pokemon to my core. It's part flying so it can dodge EQ that's meant to hit Heatran. It can also trol a poke to go for a fire type move and then switch into Heatran to absorb that. I also walls the living hell out of Haxorus and D-nite. A banded fire punch from a max atk adamant D-nite will do just over half to Skarm which showes the awsome Def of this pokemon.

Gengar

Gengar@Leftovers
Timid
Levitate
4HP/252SpecAtk/252Spe
Substitute
Disable
Shadow ball
Focus blast

This Gengar is really good. If you face a Roobushin aka Conkeldurr you just sub down on the payback and then use disable on the next turn. Now he can't touch you and you will get a free sub. This works really well, not only on Roobushin. I have leftovers just because I'll gain some HP every turn behind the sub which is good but I don't get that extra attacking power that I would if I had used the life orb. But this is not a fully offensive set so lefties works fine.

Salamence

Salamence@life orb
Naive
Intimidate
172Atk/84SpecAtk/252Spe
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw
EQ
Fire blast

Salamence is in my opinion, one of the most badass pokemon in the game. I use him for several reasons.
1. He's awsome
2. Great movepool
3. The stats
I have fire blast on this guy just to kill ferrothorn and forretress and other stuff weak to it. He has a huge ice weakness but heatran takes care of that and gastro to.

Metagross
Arkeis-Metagross[1].png

Metagross@life orb
Jolly
Clear body
4HP/252Atk/252Spe
Rock polish
Ice punch
EQ
Meteor mash

This metagross is made for sweeping. Ice punch for gliscor and dragons, EQ for... everything that's weak to ground and meteor mash for stab. Becasue of a awsome Def stat, this dude can take some hits and then hit back hard with something. Rock polish doubles its speed and makes him perfect for sweeping.

This was my team. Hopefully it wasn't to bad. I know I have alot of steel types but Skarm, Mence and Gengar makes up for it just because of the fact that they can dodge the ground type attacks and heatran can avoid the fire attacks.

Please give me some feedback and I see you guys later, bye.

on mence you say you carry fire blast for forry and ferro, who both(especially after an intimidate) arethe definiton of set up ofdder

Outrage is better than Dragon Claw on Salamence. Sure you have DD, but sometimes it's best to do major damage right off the bat.

so what do you suggest instead of fire blast?

I say keep it. Just cause both of them are set up fodder doesnt mean its ok to let them go unchecked. Dragon Fire is an offensive combo pretty much unresisted (Heatproof bronzong is really the only thing I can think of) in the metagame.

If you *really* want to change it Draco Meteor is your best bet.

for gengar: It's worth mentioning that any half way decent conkle player will either a) not stay in on a gengar or b) bait the disable with mach punch. the priority makes it go first, and you end up disabling the less useful move, so durr can go off with pay backs. The set works, just be aware that it's not hard to get around.
