Priority Flash Fire!

Hey guys, i recently received a 5IV Chandelure and thought it would be fun to build a team around it. I've also really been meaning to try Mega Absol.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock

Pretty simple - my lead and Stealth Rock setter. Focus Sash is there to pretty much guarantee rocks. Adamant Max Attack ensures that Mamoswine hits hard with EQ, and can revenge dragons with ice shard + have a good chance of 2hkoing physically defensive Manidbuzz with Icicle Crash. A life orb would allow me to ohko Garchomp with Ice Shard and guarantees the 2hko on Mandibuzz but i think i'll miss the focus sash =/

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]/ Flamethrower?

Chandelure is the pokemon i wanted to build this team around. A scarf turns it into an incredible revenge killer with base 145 SpA. Fire Blast and Shadow Ball are obligatory stab with Fire Blast netting an awesome boost from Flash Fire. Breloom and Excadrill being weak to fire gives Chandlure great switch in opportunities.

Hidden power fighting is there to 2hko non-specially defensive Ttar switching in but i'm not too convinced with this yet. I'm open to suggestions. I also might have trouble breeding for HP Fighting.

Energy ball is for coverage and picking off weakened water types.

Chandelure gets shredded by Tyranitar and walled by bulky water types which is why i have picked Breloom.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Breloom @ Life Orb/Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
- Spore

Breloom gets an easy OHKO on Tyranitar with Technician Life Orb Mach Punch. However, a focus sash lets me take a Brave Bird from Talonflame (which is so damn common) or a Fiery Dance from Volcarona and easily ohko back with Rock Tomb but without a Life Orb, i lose the OHKO on Mega Lucario which is a huge threat. A focus sash also lets me possibly spam spore.

Rock Tomb can be used to destroy faster switch ins since they get hit with a nice -1 speed such as Starmie, Gengar Alakazam, Jolteon and then easily ko next turn with Bullet Seed, Mach Punch or another rock slide. Technician LO Rock Tomb also scores a surprising 2hko on Latios.

Rock tomb also 2hkos Intimidate Gyarados:

  • -1 252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Rock Slide vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 208-247 (62.6 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Bullet Seed hits bulky defensive water types like Vaporeon and Rotom-W really hard. 3 hits from Bullet Seed OHKOs max physical def Rotom-w and Vaporeon:

  • 252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Bullet Seed (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 327-399 (107.5 - 131.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

  • 252 Atk Life Orb Technician Breloom Bullet Seed (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Vaporeon: 468-561 (100.8 - 120.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
4 hits from Bullet Seed also has a 37.5% chance to OHKO Gengar on the switch.

Jolly because most Mamoswine run Adamant and i'd rather sock it in the face with Mach Punch before eating an Ice Shard.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk Naive Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Superpower

My Mega Absol is here to function as a fast mixed attacker/wallbreaker. STAB Sucker Punch is there for priority and revenge killing and deals min 56% to 192 HP Talonflame allowing me to pick it off after Brave Bird and Life Orb recoil. Superpower gets an easy OHKO on Tyranitar, Hydreigon (after Stealth Rock), Terrakion (after SR), 2hko Blissey/Chansey while uninvested Ice Beam OHKOs Garchomp (after SR), Gliscor, Landorus-T and has a chance to 2hko Hippowdon after Rocks. Uninvested Fire Blast decimates Ferro, Skarm (2hko on both) and other steel types.

Mega Absol can also easily outspeed and OHKO Mega Lucario with superpower which can't ohko first without a +2 bullet punch/extreme speed. Special variants can ohko me with vacuum wave however. I need to scout ahead.

Magic Bounce means i can use it as an anti-lead if i see my opponent packing something like a Smeargle. Magic Bounce also makes it easier to spam Sucker Punch.

Perhaps packing either night slash or knock off would let me pick off Gengar before it tries to hide behind a sub.

Justified means i can switch in on a dark type move aimed at Chandlure for a +1 boost but it might be stupid since Absol is so frail.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave/OR MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE?
- Ice Beam

The Bro is here as a strong physical wall which can easily wall and overwhelm physical sweepers (mainly Dragons such as Dragonite and Moxie Mence) trying to set up on me.

Thunder wave supports the team and allows Breloom, Excadrill and Mamoswine to overcome there poor speed and really shine.

Slack off + Regenerator gives the Bro incredible bulk and longevity + slight stall abilities if i can score a scald burn.

Greninja really gives this team trouble so a well timed/predicted Thunder wave really throws a spanner in the works.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head/Toxic

Excadrill is in this team as an offensive spinner since Chandelure does not appreciate stealth rock damage and also lets me possibly keep Mamo's focus sash intact. Mega Absol is also incredibly frail and doesn't need 3 layers of spikes digging into it.

Earthquake + Rock Slide gets awesome coverage + Mold Breaker lets it nuke Gengar trying to spinblock and pesky levitate Rotom-W.

I'm not too sure what to do with the 4th move slot. I've used Excadrill before and it rarely gets the chance to set up Swords dance because of it's below average speed.
