Probably best team that i will ever build

Introduction
This is my old team that i build sometime in May. This Team is not build around weather although i have tyranitar and excadrill in this team. This is very effective team and i have win lots of battles with this team. I love using not very popular sets like Choice Band Hippowdon etc. This team was build around Latias and Ferrothorn. Not so much to tell about the team.

In depth
Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Changed to Scarf Tyranitar as New World Order Suggested. Crunch and Stone Edge for STABs Superpower for other Tyranitar. Ice Punch for Dragons, Landorus and Gliscor. This team hates other weather teams so had to add this to team. Thought I'm happy to replace this for other pokemon.
240px-misty_gyarados.jpg

Gyarados (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP / 64 Atk / 96 Def / 192 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge

I Have always used bulky DD gyarados, so i used it again and is still good. Sometimes I have used Bounce over Stone Edge and Thunder Wave over Taunt and they were good but not as good Stone Edge and Taunt. This is one of my most important member on team so i don't change it to something else.

530___excadrill_by_merum_sb_blueolimar-d3ab1hg.png

Excadrill (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-scissors
- Rapid Spin

Excadrill is awesome in sand and has destroyed every team that had not been prepared against this Beast. I use Brick Break over X-scissors because for those Air Balloon users like Heatran and opposing Excadrills. Not much to say about this and willing to replace this pokemon for something else.Excadrill was added team as partner for Tyranitar.

latias.png

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Refresh

The Latias. Beautiful weapon capable of killing. They swicth Blissey and I will use it as set-bait. I don't have to worry about status that's not sleep or uncommon freeze because of refresh. Sometimes if i predict right i can get up to +6 and Prepared to sweep opposing team to pieces.

ferrothorn.jpg

Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave(?)
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock

Ferrothorn is most used pokemon in Gen V and for good reason. It walls almost everything. As you can see this standard Ferrothorn with little different EVs. I use Rocks over Spikes for one reason. Rocks hurt everything that doesn't have Magic Guard as ability. I Have used Gyro Ball, Bulldoze and Protect over Thunder Wave And They all had the Pros and Cons.

nidoqueen.jpg

Nidoqueen @ Leftovers
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 hp/240 def/16 spa
Nature: Bold
Moves:
Toxic Spikes
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Ice Beam

This replaces Gengar. This set here to counter those fighting type pokemons that my team hates. Toxic Spikes are good for including poison around. Earth Power for STAB and Fire Blast and Ice Beam for coverage. EV's are for taking hits better.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Now on to the critic...
Considering your running sand on your team, Pokemon that are made to soften up teams are going to mess you up a lot; Infernape, Landorus, etc... ESPECIALLY since the sand is going to cancel out your own Pokemon's leftovers. If your opponent has hazards up your defensive Pokes are going to go down real quick.

Your response may be: "Well Gyarados, Latias and Ferrothorn can take those hits for me and threaten them out!"
Mixed variants of the Pokemon mentioned above, not so much. Which isn't a far-fetched statement to say considering those are the standard sets for the Pokemon previously mentioned.
__
My suggestions are either to re-haul some of the Pokes on your team to Pokes that don't care about hazards: Reuniclus, Rotom-A, Xatu, I could go on..., or to add a spinner to your team, either through giving Excadrill rapid spin or by switching out one of your Pokes for one.
__
Other than what I mentioned, the team looks like it can hold its own decently. You cannot go wrong with weather so that may be why but regardless.

My rating for this team is a 3.5/5

Opposing Excadrill presents a pretty large problem to this team. Pretty much the only way that you can deal with it is through winning a speed tie with your Excadrill, which obviously isn't optimal. Substitute Landorus is really going to be a problem for this team. Although Latias is a decent way of dealing with it, Landorus is always paired up with Tyranitar so Latias will be hard pressed to check Landorus and not be trapped and ko'd by Tyranitar at the same time. Rotom-W would fit very well on this team. It has the ability to be a good enough check to substitute + 3 attacks Landorus and Excadrill. Although you may not want to replace it, I really believe that Gyarados is the weakest link of this team. Rotom-W can still provide you with a water resist and a way to win against drizzle teams as well as the aforementioned threats to this team. A set with volt switch / will-o-wisp / hydro pump / pain split, bold, leftovers, and a spread of 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe is what you should use.

Conkeldurr can really be a problem to this team. After only one bulk up, it does massive damage to this team. Although substitute + disable Gengar will help you with that a bit, you really don't have a very good initial switch into it. Skarmory would fit perfectly on this team over Ferrothorn as it gives you the ability to switch in easily against fighting types such as bulk up Conkeldurr, dragon dance Scrafty, and double boosting Terrakion. Skarmory also provides this team with an excellent source of entry hazards which is a great way for Gengar to finish up teams later in the match. Also, it will keep the dragon resist that was provided by Ferrothorn as well as an extremely good counter to most sand storm sweepers. A set with leftovers, impish, spikes / roost / whirlwind / brave bird, and a spread of 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe would work on this team very well.

Dragon dance Tyranitar is really not good in this metagame. With fighting types like Terrakion and Conkeldurr running rampant along with threats such as Scizor, Skarmory, and Excadrill being as common as they are, you will be lucky to even get a dragon dance set up. Tyranitar is much better off running a specially defensive set with stealth rock for this team. This will give you a good switch into specially based threats such as the lati twins and Volcarona. A set with stealth rock / crunch / pursuit / rock slide, chople berry, sassy nature, and maximum hp and special defense will really do well at this job. With this change, I'd run rapid spin over brick break on Excadrill. Rapid spin will allow you to spin away hazards set up by Skarmory and Ferrothorn as they both have a few opportunities to set spike, whereas brick break is unnecessary coverage most of the time.

This is a pretty nice team build. Good Luck.

X-Scissor > Brick Break on Excadrill. I also agree with AB2 on Tyranitar. Stealth Rock / Ice Beam / Fire Blast / Pursuit is probably the best moves right now to run on Tyranitar.

I suggest using a Choice Scarf Tyranitar. You have no answers to Thundurus besides revenging with Excadrill, which wont work if rain is up. Tyranitar should help with that while providing a way to revenge other dangerous threats like Latios and Starmie.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Sand Stream
Jolly
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
Crunch
Pursuit
Stone Edge
Superpower

I try Scarf Tyranitar and Rapid spin on Excadrill.

Edit: I Found that Dragon Dance Tyranitar was more effective than Scarf Tyranitar

Rock Polish Terrakion will DEFINITELY hurt this team. After a single Rock Polish, be prepared to lose the battle (unless you're lucky and its stone edge misses Gyarados)

To better counter Terrakion (as well as Conkeldurr, Scrafty and Breloom) I suggest a defensive Nidoqueen set. Nidoqueen has a neat niche in the metagame whereby it has a rather cool fighting resist - imperative for any sandstorm team looking to outpower its opponent.

This is the suggested set (although you can change its moves to better suit your team)

Nidoqueen @ Lefties
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 hp/240 def/16 spa
Nature: Bold
Moves:
Toxic Spikes
Fire Blast (Flamethrower if you want the accuracy)
Earth Power
Ice Beam

With this, you can come in on any of the above said Pokemon (except for Brelooms that obviously are about to spore) and wreck them with Nido's diverse moveset. Ferro is obviously razed by Fire Blast. This Nidoqueen set also counters Scizor and Toxicrock extremely well.

Take out Gengar in replacement for Nidoqueen. You dont really need a spinblocker since the only entry hazard you have is SR. Furthermore, Latias covers a lot of your team's weaknesses (more so for special attacks), hence rendering Gengar quite pointless.

Btw, KEEP the Scarf set for Ttar. It outspeeds Gengar and revenge kills a lot of counters to your team. Also, replace Pursuit with Ice Punch. Nowadays, Gengar and Latias are smart enough to have substitute to block the pursuit from KOing them. Moreover, Ice Punch OHKOs Landorus, which otherwise may destroy your team if you dont play it carefully.

One more note: Against rain and sun teams, if you dont keep Latias alive, you're most probably going to lose.
