SS OU Protective Pads Urshifu-RS in Sand + Psychic Terrain

I used this team to reach 1503 elo. Yes, it is not very high, but this is my highest elo rating ever before tilting heavily (obviously). This team is built around Pads Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, whom I found interest in this metagame.

:ss/Urshifu-Rapid-Strike:
Budget Urshifu-SS (Urshifu-Rapid-Strike) (M) @ Protective Pads
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn

Since Rocky Helmet and Static Zapdos are so prominent in this metagame, Protective Pads is the way to go. Surging Strikes and Close Combat are must haves, Aqua Jet are for priority (I know Psychic Terrain does not synergize well with it, but priority is good to have in case of emergencies) and U-turn for pivoting. Maybe Thunder Punch is better for Toxapex, but Pads Urshifu does not have enough breaking power and Pex can just spam Recover. I think this team is the best moveset for the weaker Urshifu form.

:ss/Rillaboom:
Monke (Rillaboom) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- Wood Hammer
- U-turn

Grass monke is best monke. Banded Rilla is insane against almost the entire tier. Sure, defensive Heatran checks it and offensive variants cook it, but there's where Urshifu comes into the picture. Grassy Glide is the most braindead move ever, Wood Hammer for massive damage, Knock Off is Knock Off and U-turn for pivoting.

:ss/Tyranitar:
Godzilla (Tyranitar) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Blast
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave

When building this team, I realized that Specs Dragapult is good against the first two mons on the team. Meet specially defensive Ttar! Provides Stealth Rock support. Rock Blast against Volcarona who gained a massive rise in popularity during the Zama test, Earthquake against Heatran and opposing Ttar. Thunder Wave for pissing my opponent off.

:ss/Dracozolt:
Hustle (Dracozolt) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 120 Atk / 136 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Bolt Beak
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Dracozolt, the second best Galar fossil in terms of design and power. Bolt Beak is used against Corviknight and Skarmory (Celesteela too). Draco Meteor for opposing Dragons. Fire Blast for Ferro and Earthquake for Tran.

:ss/Tapu-Lele:
Tapu Waifu (Tapu Lele) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Psyshock

Specs Lele is stupidly good. Psychic and Moonblast are main STABs. Focus Blast for Zone and Psyshock for Blissey and Chansey. Psychic Terrain is great for the team because priority such as Aqua Jet and Mach Punch is good against Sand teams. It hurts Urshifu a bit, but Grassy Terrain can negate that problem.

:ss/Alakazam:
Big Brain (Alakazam) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Expanding Force
- Focus Blast
- Knock Off

Why not use Alakazam? Expanding Force is a fantastic move, Focus Blast for Dark types, Knock Off is a spammable move and Nasty Plot for boosting his already high Special Attack. Sometimes, I replace Life Orb with Sash. Psychic Terrain helps to cockblock Bisharp's Sucker Punch and boost Expanding Force to 156 base power.

Conclusion:

This is the second team I spent time teambuilding without blatantly copying off sample teams. Constructive criticism is always accepted.

Cool team, but I don't see the purpose of knock off on Alakazam when you can have dazzling gleam. It hits common meta dragons and also provides reliable coverage for dark types because focus miss, well.... misses.

Just so you know, that Dracozolt EV spread is outdated. Here's the most recent one which is considered to be most effective in this meta.
I would also suggest using an Adamant nature on Rillaboom, as there isn't much useful you outspeed by going Jolly.

I feel like this team doesn't do well against opposing rillaboom and alakazam kinda overlaps with tapu lele. Perhaps change it to defensive moltres?

I guess Dazzling Gleam hits Hydreigon... Thanks for the tip! Btw, Expanding Force under Psychic Terrain hits Dragapult, Dragonite and Kyurem harder, so I dismissed Dazzling Gleam at first.
Let me just quickly chip in and say run High Horsepower on Dracozolt and T-tar over EQ since High Horsepower doesn’t have its power halved by Rillaboom’s Grassy Terrain.
Damn! I forgot about High Horsepower is better than Earthquake under Grassy Terrain. Thanks!

I will be honest here. The set I posted was copied from the Smogon analysis. The Substitute + Fire Spin set is fire! (literally)

Normally if I face Rilla, my Dracozolt will be on the field with Sand up. Still, I admit this is a problem. The reason I use Alakazam is because Expanding Force is a very powerful move to use. Yes, it is hard to pull off, especially my Lele not holding Terrain Extender. It is still a fun experience through! Moltres is a very interesting pick. To be honest, I will pick Corviknight as one Knock Off on Moltres switching in is kinda bad for it. (unless you get the burn)
