Pseudo-sand/ First post, first team, yada yada

I’ve been a competitive battler for some time now, and I’ve lurked around Smogon for that amount of time. I’d like to say that I’m a decent battler, but I’ve only played on the PO server, so my definition of good is somewhat distorted. Most of the time though, I’m playing with my friends IRL whenever we happen to be bored. I’ve used this team quite a lot and have come to like it, using it whenever I get swept in a rather humiliating fashion and proceed to do the same thing to them with this team.

Ability: Sand veil
Ev’s 252atk 252spd
Jolly nature
~Stealth rocks
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Fire blast
“Why the hell are you leading with a Garchomp?” ...I’m not really sure. All I know is that I like my rocks and this seemed to have the best synergy with the rest of the team. Though, that being said, I’m really not sure about this poke, so this is the one I would like the most help on. Can act as a late game cleaner.
Dragon claw over outrage for a stab that doesn’t lock me into a move. Fire blast is there to roast steel types that are neutral or immune to EQ, examples include: Skarm, Bronzong, Ferrothorn, the occasional scizor.
Its name Emiya comes from the fact that it’s a GARchomp.
If only to reiterate, this is the poke that I would like the most help on.

Maou (Tyranitar)@choice scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
Ev’s 252 atk 252 spd
Jolly nature
~Crunch
~Pursuit
~Superpower
~Stone Edge

Oh how the might hath fallen. Despite how powerful it was in the previous gens, it seems to be hampered every gen. Swampert in 3rd, scizor in 4th, and now the dozens of fighting types in 5th. But Tyranitar is still extremely effective, being able to set up sandstorm, trap psychics and ghosts, and sponge special attacks. Which is exactly what it does in this team.
The set is the standard that is placed in the analysis. I used scarf over anything else so I can avoid the grass knots, surfs, focus blasts and whatnot. My answer to lati@s, starmie, reniculus, gengar, etc. Most of which are problems for my two sweepers. The sandstorm helps out my team a lot by providing residual, and activating sand force and sand veil. It’s also nice to have a weather changer, in the case of politoed and nintales.
Named Maou due to the fact that it is in fact a demon king.

I prefer this over the physical attacker set because it doesn’t act like a hit and run mon, plus most people get scared of the rediculously powerful v-create and switch to a physical wall. It acts as a check to slower fighting types and can ohko with psychic. TTars are not a problem due to focus blast and the general non-existance of scarf-tars (other than my own.) My only complaint is that it dies extremely fast to residual, but I like the power that life orb brings.
Kerudio_by_xous54-d2z1ip0.png

Keru (Keldeo)@ leftovers
Ability: Justified
Ev’s 252 sp atk 252 speed
Timid
~Hydro pump
~Secret Sword
~Hidden power (ice)
~Calm Mind
Sweeper number 1 and the water part of my FWG trio. This Pokémon is absolutely amazing after only one CM. Sometimes it doesn't even need a CM to sweep, using only it's incredible power and coverage. While fighting and water may be walled by a good handful of pokemon (Gyara, mence, jellicent) you cannot deny that both water and fighting are incredible offensive and defensive typings. Keldeo is also a fairly good wallbreaker, being able to KO special walls with secret sword and physical walls with hydro pump. And with its fighting stab, is one of the only waters that can kill ferrothorn handily without the use of hp fire.
Hp ice is what I use, hp electric and hp ghost really don’t cut it for me. Other waters can be hit with secret sword, and gyara without bounce aren’t’ much of a problem, and things hit by ghost are taken care of by Tyranitar. Lati@s and starmie are going to outpace and KO keru anyway. Hp ice on the other hand, hits the many, many dragons of this gen harder, while maintaining coverage on grasses. It also hits non-scarfchomp harder without having to resort to hydro pump. Leftovers are used to abuse the special defense boosts and generally have more survivability. It usually doesn’t need power boost of life orb anyway.
Keldeo is called kerudio in Japanese (or gratuitous English, either way).

1-up (Breloom)@life orb
Ability: Techinician
Ev’s: 252 atk, 252 spd
Jolly
~Mach Punch
~Bullet Seed
~Stone Edge
~Sword Dance
Sweeper number 2. The grass part of the FWG. It was a real surprise to my friends when my breloom used SD. It was an even bigger surprise when it KO’d his slightly weakened Garchomp (it does approx. 75% minimum after an SD). After that, it wasn’t much of a surprise when it swept the rest of his team. It’s like an SDzor with an arguably better typed priority move and the surprise value of it being so.
Mach punch for the powerful priority after an SD. Bullet seed is obviously used rather than seed bomb due to the fact that the min power for bullet seed is 75 after tech and can be much higher with more hits; can be up to 187 BP (albeit, it has a low chance of happening) after tech.
Most of this set’s checks are taken care of by ttar.
I really hope you know why it’s named 1-up.
Landorus.png

Akuma (Landorus)@choice scarf
Ability: Sand Force
Ev’s: 252 atk 252spd
Jolly
~Earthquake
~Stone Edge
~U turn
~Hidden power (ice)
After all this, I needed a revenge killer. Landorus already was one of my favorite scarfers, annoying the hell out of the opponent with u turn. You may have noticed that there are two scarfers on this team. I really can’t afford to not run both; otherwise my team would be run down by dragon dancers and such. And I may as well run something that compliments the sandstorm. The power boost that it gets helps it revenge and clean if need be.

The reason it's a pseudo sand team is that it really doesn't rely on landorus to sweep, it's usually kerudio or breloom doing the dirty work.

My problems lie in water types and dragon types. I have a LOT of water weaknesses (three to be exact) and I don’t have any dragon resists, Scarfchomp in particular is a problem, any ideas?

I would take out tyranitar in for a Hippowdon lead, and then change SR for swords dance. Garchomp could be a lead technically; there arent too many leads that use Ice type moves, but many hold focus sashes, and can either disrupt or work arround garchomp. Garchomp is a better sweeper anyway, but I like your creativity.

Yeah, garchomp is not a terrific lead, It can suprise people with ttar leads but that's about it. I rarely get rocks up... But hippo would really slow down my team, along with adding upon my weakness to bulky water types. Ttar is also important for trapping and killing pokes that would outright counter my sweepers, like starmie, lati@s, Jellicent for kerudio, etc. Basically most psychic or ghost types. Most people don't run scarf anymore, so i'm usually sucessful in crunching them to death. It's also the only thing absorbing DMs without getting totally maimed in the process.

Trade the item from Breelom, use Shed Shell.

Breloom needs the LO to sweep and revenge kill properly. TTar makes chandelure a (mostly) non-issue.

Honestly, SR is wasted on Chomp, it screams for a) SD b) a Scarf c) a SubSD set (see Solums Core, works with your sandstorm) or d) the odd support set with Dragon Tail, SR, and EQ (I saw it in an RMT once, I think it might be in the analysis). I used it once, and it's definitely usable with Chomps decent bulk.

I've definitely figured that out... the rocks being wasted on this garchomp, that is. Habanchomp can work as a one time check to scarfchomp (I think...) Dunno about chomptank tho. If i do use chomptank, should it work as a lead? Or should i use something else?

I'm thinking about replacing landorus. Nobody is really wanting to switch on it when i U-turn. The only real use is if ttar dies and I need a psychic to die. I can also switch the roles, make landorus a RP set and give chomp a scarf. Feedback is always appreciated.
