Pseudo Sandstorm Team

This is my first time making any kind of weather team. This began as a large setup for some sweeper, and the Sandstorm came next.
Here's the idea: I kill walls with Infernape and TTar, wall stuff with Hippowdon and Cradily, spin and Toxic Spikes with Tentacruel, and clean up the mess with BrightPowder Garchomp.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Blaze
Naive
24 Atk/252 SpA/232 Spe

Close Combat
Flamethrower
Grass Knot
Nasty Plot

This, along with TTar, can kill a whole lot of walls. If these two kill 2 or 3 Pokes between them, they've done their duty, which is, of course, clearing the way for Garchomp.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Sand Stream
Adamant
132 Def/120 SpA/4 Spe

EQ
Stone Edge
Fire Blast
Pursuit

I thought about putting a Boah here, but since I have an Infernape and this can Pursuit its main counters, this seemed more useful. Since its main use is Pursuiting, I sacrificed speed for survivability.

Tentacruel @ Leftovers
Liquid Ooze
Timid
204 HP/96 SpA/172 SpD/36 Spe

Surf
Sludge Bomb
Rapid Spin
Toxic Spikes

Tenta's main role is to Rapid Spin and keep Garchomp safe, while setting up Toxic Spikes in case Garchomp has to stall near the end of the battle. It can also switch in on predicted Water or, to some degree, Grass moves aimed at the various Water and Grass weak Pokes on my team and strike back with STABed Sludge Bombs.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Sand Stream
Impish
252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def

EQ
Ice Fang
Slack Off
Roar

Hippowdon makes a fine physical wall and backup Sandstorm inducer. He also is my main counter for physical dragons like Garchomp.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Suction Cups
Careful
252 HP/164 Def/92 SpD

Stockpile
Rock Slide
Recover
Stealth Rock

About the EV spread...this one was suggested on its page, and it looks reasonable. Is it good?

Moving right along, Cradily doesn't die to special attacks while a Sandstorm is happening. It does, however, set up Stealth Rock and wall things into oblivion. As an added bonus, special dragons like SpecsMence can't hurt it very much.

Garchomp @ BrightPowder
Sand Veil
Jolly
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe

EQ
Dragon Claw
Swords Dance
Substitute

With any luck, there will be a Sandstorm and no Stealth Rocks, Spikes, or, horror of horrors, Toxic Spikes on my side. Oh yeah, and no Bronzong or Skarmory. Hopefully, I sub, dance, evade some attacks, and sweep the remnants of my opponent's team.

I was trying to decide between Garchomp and Aerodactyl for my late game Sandstorm immune sweeper. Great attack and good speed or good attack and great speed? However, since Garchomp's ability actually does something useful, I chose it. But if Aerodactyl seems a superior fit to you, feel free to suggest replacing Garchomp with it...with a good reason, since Sand Veil is pretty sick.

Thanks in advance for sharing your teambuilding genius with my humble personage.

The team is ok, just a few points

T-Tar has Crunch and Pursuit, I would drop crunch and use Fire Punch, any other way you have nothing agains Bronzong or Skarmory, and this T-Tar as a starter has nothing to do agains good prediction or strong ataks such as close combat, focus blast, EQ, even Brick break, and if you want this T-Tar to last longer, Spend in Defence, not in HP, Remember Sands Stream gives u a boost in Special Defence

Infernape is ok, a really good moveset with huge coverage but nothing to do agains a good dragon

Tentacruel is more or less the regular way to go with it, I have nothing to say here

Hippowdown moveset fits perfect with SR and TS

Cradily is ok, but i think every good cradily knows Stockpile, you want Rock Slide cause STAB i think, but what do you want to kill with it if u are a cradily, those types do neutral damage to cradily and you can be walled by any steel pokemon

Garchomp is the comon way for a Sandsteam, I cant say it is perfect for it, but maybe it should apear a little sooner and let someone like Hippo to clean the trash

@ PiLoKo: For TTar, do you think I should go with an EV spread like this:

252 Def/252 Atk/4 Spd

If I use a physical fire move, I'll go with Fire Fang over Fire Punch, since I already bred a TTar in Diamond and it would be a pain to borrow a copy of Emerald and stuff. Or I could toss 120 or so Def EVs into SpA and use Fire Blast. Which one sounds better?

For Cradily: Replace Rock Slide with EQ and replace Toxic with Stockpile?

@ Bogmire: I haven't actually bred all of the Pokes for this team yet, so I don't yet know how Infernape will work...with luck, he'll die right after killing Bliss and Skarm. :toast:

I like the EV's spred in T-Tar, but i really think u need to replace the starter, infernape may work ok, and about cradily seems ok for me but you really need to know what do u need to kill, rock slide works ok with salamance and gyarados, pokes that u wont like to fight specially a DD gyarados, and EQ wont have STAB, but has better coverage.

Also for a wall as cradily if u are consediring stockpile to boost defences, u may also consider rest over recover, cause there are some toxic users over there.

I should consider changing cradily, since you already has hippo who is a massive wall, Gliscor is a good option in any SandsTeam

You may also use cradily as a toxic user and forget about atacking but there are also taunt users, but the leftovers/protect/toxic combo can be very useful

I need Cradily, especially over Gliscor, since the former is the only Poke on my team who can take special attacks and the latter would give me a double 4x Ice weakness.

I like your suggestion of Stockpile on Cradily, but I think that Rest is overkill since Tentacruel can absorb Toxic Spikes and predicted Toxics. Rock Slide over EQ since DD Gyara needs to be hit right away, and because most steels who threaten Cradily can be switched into by Hippowdon, TTar, or Infernape and appropriately countered.

You're right, Infernape would make a better starter, and it would help with him not getting quickly killed by Sandstream.
