Glastrier has recently dropped into PU, and has already become a strong and flexible offensive Pokemon. Its high Attack stat and powerful STAB let it break past foes like Quagsire. Close Combat hits Steel-types like Aggron. High Horsepower is Glastrier's best option against Qwilfish and avoids defense drops from Close Combat. Crunch threatens Jellicent with a 2HKO. All three of these moves give Glastrier strong neutral coverage. However, a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, inability to 2HKO bulky Water-types like Poliwrath and Wishiwashi, and prominence of faster Jellicent hinder its viability. It appreciates Pokemon that can keep entry hazards off like Espeon and Charizard; in return, it threatens Steel- and Rock-types like Ferroseed and Gigalith. Grass-types like Whimsicott can threaten out the bulky Water-types Glastrier struggles to break while pivoting on their switch-ins like Eldegoss. Glastrier is forced out by powerful Fighting- and Fire-types such as Gallade and Magmortar, so Pokemon that can switch into them like Palossand and Gigalith are heavily appreciated. They also provide entry hazards support to help Glastrier wear down its switchins.
