This set is meant to beat would-be checks like Tangela and Gourgeist-Super for things like Kingler to sweep late-game. It can also lure in Clefairy as well since people usually do not expect Flyinium Z from a DD set. Adamant allows for Altaria to get the OHKO on Tangela and Gourgeist-Super, so I do not encourage the use of Jolly at all. Earthquake is to not be walled by Aggron and Dragon Claw gives it a form of hitting Pokemon like Eelektross without being locked in. You can use Outrage if you prefer the power, however. Natural Cure gives Altaria the opportunity to use the Z-Move on Weezing without having to worry about being burned and that's very cool imo.

With the tier shift, Dragon Dance Altaria has gotten the chance to once again see potential usage mostly in part of Ferroseed leaving, which would have stopped most Dragon Dance sets dead with Gyro Ball and it's fantastic bulk. This set is bulky Dragon Dance with enough speed to outpace 115's after a Dragon Dance(

Offensive Defog Altaria
Defog Altaria but geared towards more offense. STAB Draco Meteors are still capable of dissuading hazard setters such as Weezing and defensive Mesprit, and HP Fighting can score a 2HKO on Aurorus, a 3HKO on Probopass, and an OHKO on Aggron, improving your match up vs those rockers, and the spread outspeeds Modest Aurorus. Luring Aggron can be a big help for teams too.

For those of you who don't know, Z-Toxic grants a +1 boost in Defense and bypasses Taunt, Encore, and the like. Helps you out against Kingler, Primeape, Taunt users such as Sableye and Oricorio-Sensu, etc. Although Altaria sometimes runs speed creep, I deemed it not worth it because the extra Sp. Def helps a ton vs Specs Pyroar when SR is up. A more physically bulky spread of 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD and a Bold Nature prevents +2 Kingler from 2HKOing with Liquidation when Altaria has +1 Defense, but, again, sacrifices a bit of the surefire Pyroar answer.
if you wanna up your meme game, run 16 speed with max phys bulk so you can pp stall cb aggron locked in head smash thx to roost and make it use struggle

For those of you who don't know, Z-Toxic grants a +1 boost in Defense and bypasses Taunt, Encore, and the like. Helps you out against Kingler, Primeape, Taunt users such as Sableye and Oricorio-Sensu, etc. Although Altaria sometimes runs speed creep, I deemed it not worth it because the extra Sp. Def helps a ton vs Specs Pyroar when SR is up. A more physically bulky spread of 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD and a Bold Nature prevents +2 Kingler from 2HKOing with Liquidation when Altaria has +1 Defense, but, again, sacrifices a bit of the surefire Pyroar answer.
