Hi there everyone. This is my first RMT and this team needs some work. Obviously this team is illegal now with Poliwrath moving to NU and Togetic moving to RU, and this is the main reason I need some help fixing and improving this team.
This team was surprisingly good, and it peaked at around (roughly) the 1300-1400 mark with this team which is a solid ranking IMO, considering this team was put together in 10 minutes. I'll try to give a brief description on what each Pokemon bought to the team and if I could get some feedback on possible EV tweaks, moveset changes, and of course, replacements for Poliwrath and Togetic, it would be much appreciated.
Simisear @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast
My set up sweeper. Originally, i was using Nasty Plot Ninetales, and while bulkier, didn't hit all that hard without a boost, so i switched him out for Simisear and I noticed the difference in power right away. Nasty Plot to hopefully boost mid to late game, and clean up with powerful Fire Blast. Grass Knot for coverage against Water, Rock, and Ground types, Focus Blast provided good neutral coverage alongside Fire Blast.
Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Bold Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Scald
- Circle Throw
Poliwrath was my main switch in to Physically defensive Pokemon, Provided somewhat reliable support in Scald, Phazing and chip damage with Circle Throw, and was a good switch into Water types.
Marowak @ Thick Club
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Bonemerang
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
I chose Marowak as an offensive SR setter for a few reasons, he pairs well with Poliwrath and Simisear. Decent coverage, and Bonemerang. He has decent physical bulk as well, so he matches up well with common leads such as Golem. Marowaks bad speed did prevent me from keeping momentum against faster teams, but he would normally get either rocks up or take something out every match.
Togetic @ Eviolite
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Defog
- Soft-Boiled
- Dazzling Gleam
- Thunder Wave
Togetic was my switch in into Specially based 'mons and Fighting types, and was my Defogger.
Purugly @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Knock Off
- Play Rough
Purugly was chosen as a reliable revenge killer of sorts and priority in Fake Out, I was running Life Orb but I changed it to Silk Scarf when I realised I was rarely using my coverage moves. Return is for reliable and powerful stab attack, Knock Off to hit Ghost types and to provide utility, Play Rough for coverage against Fighting types.
Rotom-Frost @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
Rotom-F was chosen to provide specially based coverage, and as another revenge killer, the moveset is pretty standard, trick is to cripple walls such as Lickilicky.
Obviously, I need to replace Poliwrath and Togetic, but I'm open to switching more then those two out if needed. Any help and feedback will be appreciated and considered.
Thanks for reading and PraiseTheSun.
