Bellossom is a nice counter to both sets because she can shrug off all damage Gurdurr deals to her thanks to Z-Strength Sap and start boosting In front of him since Gurdurr is a sitting duck to her after the DEF boost.

. 1 44+ Atk Guts Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Bellossom: 150-177 (42.4 - 50.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO (Before Z-strength sap)

44+ Atk Guts Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. +1 248 HP / 8 Def Bellossom: 67-79 (18.9 - 22.3%) -- possible 5HKO (After Z-strength sap)

+1 0 SpA Chlorophyll Bellossom Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 129-153 (34.4 - 40.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Safeguard is the preferred option on this specific MU, making toxic Gurdurr an even bigger sitting duck than bulk up Gurdurr.

Moonblast is a good option aswell since it 2HKOs Gurdurr and helps Bello with dragon-types buuut you will lose to toxic Gurdurr without Safeguard.

Specs Mesprit is an incredibly solid check to Gurdurr. While Mes can't switch in on Gurdurr (It kinda can but it'll be a rlly bad counter and would take way too much damage to be considered a good counter) it can rk it very easily with Psychic which will OHKO Gurdurr, ez pz

Alright let's drop something uncommon again here;

Used this back in the days a lot to wall Gurdurr when it literally were in every team. Fun set to run and thanks to strenght sap, gurdurr cant do a single thing. Gurdurr makes at its best 21% with drain punch which means it cant break sub either.

Since it's immune to Toxic and has Intimidate, Qwilfish is a pretty solid Gurdurr counter. It has Taunt to prevent Gurdurr from setting up on it and can chip it down with Rocky Helmet. Gurdurr just has to set hazards up and spam Scald and win. gg.

Swanna serves as can effective check by freely switching in to Gurdurr and either Okhoing it Supersonic Skystrike or Roosting off the damage it takes as Gurdurr is scared out. It also doesn’t mind Knock Off due to its Z-Crystal

Spiritomb is a counter to Gurdurr, being immune to Drain Punch, cleanly 3HKOing Gurdurr with Psychic, and taking even a +4 Knock Off. While it doesn't particularly like Toxic, an immunity to Drain Punch in combination with hazard support is likely to keep Gurdurr down. Aguav can also help bring Spiritomb back when it's low on health, provided it hasn't been knocked off.

Idk what to submit sensu as. It could be a counter since gurdurr 3hkos with knock but you roost off the damage and is a check because you always ohko with SSSS and you set up in its face. But for ease, bulky sensu is a check.

Hi, so Jynx is a pretty interesting setup sweeper in the tier that, in my opinion, doesnt see as much use as it should. Its array of options such as NP and of course the threatening Lovely Kiss make it incredibly hard to reliably counter, as well as other sets that include moves such as Substitute and Focus Blast.

252 SpA Jynx Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Gurdurr: 312-368 (83.4 - 98.3%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

This one specifically is meant to function as a semi-reliable check to Gurdurr. The option of Psychic is meant to hit Gurdurr as hard as possible though it definitely requires prior chip in order to do the job in some occasions, though you definitely can still use Psyshock if this isnt your main way of beating Gurdurr (It shouldnt). Ice Beam actually has a chance to KO at +2 after Stealth Rock, but the main idea of this set is to utilize Lovely Kiss as a way to sweep with Jynx in the end game, which will only be possible after the team is slightly weakened, so this functions perfectly for fitting Jynxs normal role in a battle. Not the most reliable check but one that definitely deserves more recognition in the tier.

Check. For this BulkLass set, coming in on Gurdurr has to be at the right time. Obviously, you don't want it coming in on an incoming Knock Off and losing the berry. There's that 30% chance of Knock Off being disabled though thanks to Cursed Body and then Lass can Will O + Hex Gurdurr to death!
