[OVERVIEW]

Even if Purugly looks like a wise choice due to its decent Attack, nice Speed, great movepool, and good ability, it faces heavy competition from other stronger Normal-types, especially from Kangaskhan, which also has access to Fake Out and Sucker Punch, but also from Stoutland and Alolan-Raticate, which sport better abilities. Purugly also suffers from pitiful bulk, leaving it susceptible to faster threats like Floatzel and priority users like Gurdurr. It sadly fails to dent bulkier Pokemon such as Jellicent and Alolan Sandslash due to its underwhelming firepower. It doesn't help that Purugly can't do much to Rock-types like Regirock and Aggron, unlike its competition.

[SET]
name: All-out Attacker
move 1: Return
move 2: Fake Out
move 3: Knock Off / Sucker Punch
move 4: U-turn
item: Life Orb
ability: Defiant
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set uses Purugly's amazing Speed and decent Attack to make it revenge killer. It can also punish Defog with its ability, Defiant. Sadly, Kangaskhan is a better revenge killer because it has higher bulk, the ability to wallbreak, a better ability, and a superior movepool, with its access to Earthquake being especially notable. Purugly is also outclassed by other Normal-types, namely Stoutland and Alolan Raticate, as they hit harder, have superior abilities, and have the coverage to hit Rock-types. It also doesn't have much to differentiate itself from Primeape, a better user of Defiant.

Even if Purugly looks like a wise choice due to its decent attack, nice speed (mention its abillity here imo, defiant isnt that bad) and great movepool, it suffers from heavy competition from other stronger Normal-types wallbreaker, like Kangaskhan, Stoutland and Alolan-Raticate who all sport better abilities and it also suffers from a pitiful bulk, leaving it susceptible to faster threats like Floatzel and to priority moves, like Gurdurr's Mach Punch. It doesn't help that all of its abilities are situational and that it fails to dent bulkier Pokemon such as Jellicent and Alolan Sandslash due to its overwhelming firepower. (mention that it also cant touch rock-types such as regirock/aggron)

[SET COMMENTS]
This set abuses Purugly's amazing speed and decent attack to make it a wallbreaker and a potential revenge killer. (mention that it can punish defog w/ defiant) Sadly, Kangaskhan does both of these roles better as it hits harder, sports a higher bulk, has a better ability and has a superior movepool, with notably an access to Earthquake. It also suffers from competition from other Normal-types, namely Stoutland and Alolan Raticate, as they hit harder, have superior abilities and bigger movepool, making them overall wiser choices than Purugly. (nitpick - instead of bigger movepool id say better coverage options that allow them to hit the aforementioned rock-types above)

(purugly isnt really a wallbreaking but more of a revenge killer)(also give a shout out to kanga also having double priority)It also suffers from a pitiful bulk, leaving it susceptible to faster threats like Floatzel and to priority moves, like Gurdurr's Mach Punch. This set abuses Purugly's amazing speed and decent attack to make it a wallbreaker (still not really a wallbreaker)and a potential revenge killer. It can also punish Defog with its ability, Defiant. Sadly, Kangaskhan does the wallbreaker and revenge killer job better as it hits harder, sports a higher bulk, has a better ability and has a superior movepool, with notably an access to Earthquake.
