AG [DONE] SpD Eternatus

[OVERVIEW]
Eternatus is a versatile Pokemon that is mostly used on passive balance and bulky offense teams due to its access to Toxic and Toxic Spikes. Thanks to its unique typing and great defensive stats, it is a reliable answer to Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy and can absorb Toxic Spikes set by opposing Glimmora, Eternatus, and Gliscor. With the lack of good entry hazard control options and Poison-types, it can also quickly wear down opposing teams, often forcing them to use Tera Poison to remove Toxic Spikes. However, it is weak to other Dragon-types such as Miraidon and Koraidon because they can outspeed and OHKO it, and it typically struggles with Steel-types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM, which can easily set up on it if it's lacking a Fire-type attack. Additionally, other strong physical attackers such as Calyrex-I and Arceus-Ground can force Eternatus out with their super effective STAB moves, so a lot of defensive support is necessary when running it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Eternatus is an excellent blanket check to Kyogre, defensive Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy that pressures opposing teams with Toxic Spikes and Toxic. Toxic Spikes is one of Eternatus's greatest assets, as it weakens the opposing defensive core and especially overwhelms hyper offense teams because it quickly chips down their sweepers due to them not having a way to remove it. Fire Blast or Flamethrower can be used instead to threaten Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit, (comma) with the former guaranteeing a 2HKO on Zacian-C and having a chance to OHKO it in sun and the latter providing more consistent damage at the cost of reduced firepower. However, this means dropping Toxic Spikes, (comma) which makes spreading poison much more difficult. Dynamax Cannon is Eternatus's preferred STAB move, (comma) but Draco Meteor can be run instead, trading consistency for the ability to OHKO both Koraidon and Miraidon. The given EV spread allows Eternatus to outspeed maximum Speed Kyogre and survive offensive Arceus-Ground's Earthquake from full HP. Tera Fairy allows Eternatus it to block Miraidon's Draco Meteor and Koraidon's Scale Shot or Outrage in an emergency but makes it more vulnerable to Steel-type attacks from Zacian-C and Kingambit and Flare Blitz from Koraidon. Tera Steel gives it valuable resistances to Kyogre's Ice Beam, Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance, Arceus's Extreme Speed, Arceus-Fairy's Judgment, and Psychic-type moves from Calyrex-S. Although, using Tera Steel makes Eternatus weak to Fire-type attacks such as Flare Blitz and Sacred Fire from Koraidon and Ho-Oh, respectively, as well as Koraidon's Low Kick and Zacian-C's Close Combat. Tera Dark is another option, albeit niche, that may be used to improve a team's matchup against Calyrex-S, (comma) but it makes Eternatus weak to Arceus-Fairy's Judgment and Koraidon's Low Kick. All three Tera types also reduce Eternatus's ability to check Kyogre and Ho-Oh, (comma) so the user must be wary before committing to Terastallizing.

Eternatus fits on more passive balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to act as both a Toxic Spikes absorber and spreader that can take on threats like Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy. Koraidon and Miraidon are both excellent partners, as the former can threaten Steel-type Pokemon, and the latter helps to break bulky Ground-types such as Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground. In return, Eternatus helps check Kyogre and puts their checks, such as bulky Arceus formes and Ting-Lu, on a timer with poison. They both also appreciate Eternatus's ability to soak up status effects, and Koraidon in particular enjoys Eternatus reliably switching into defensive Arceus formes like Arceus-Fairy and Ho-Oh. Eternatus is vulnerable to Koraidon and Miraidon, which force it out with strong Dragon-type attacks, so Pokemon that can check them such as Ho-Oh, Arceus-Fairy, and Ting-Lu also make good teammates. Ting-Lu also helps Eternatus by switching into Calyrex-S, which can deal massive damage to Eternatus with its Psychic-type moves or lock it into Toxic Spikes or Recover via Encore. If Eternatus isn't running Fire Blast or Flamethrower, it is incapable of hitting Steel-types like Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit, so Ground-types that force them out like Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T are also recommended. Arceus-Water can check the aforementioned Steel-types and Koraidon, as well as switching into Calyrex-I, Arceus-Ground, and Extreme Killer Arceus. Arceus helps to check Calyrex-S and benefits from Eternatus weakening the opposing defensive structure so it can clean up late-game. Eternatus also struggles with Hatterene, as it blocks Toxic and Toxic Spikes and is immune to Dynamax Cannon, so Pokemon that can beat Hatterene like Ho-Oh and Arceus-Ground are appreciated. Although, Fire Blast under sun can 2HKO Hatterene. Setup sweepers like Scale Shot Koraidon, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and Swords Dance Zacian-C can easily force Eternatus out and set up on it, so reliable checks to them like defensive Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Water are recommended.

Life Orb Eternatus can be a decent wallbreaker, but it is easily chipped down by the combination of recoil from Life Orb and entry hazard damage, and despite running Life Orb, it's unable to do good damage to Ting-Lu. Reflect can be used in conjunction with Toxic to allow Eternatus to beat Ting-Lu, offensive Ho-Oh, and Extreme Killer Arceus one-on-one, and it can also help Eternatus's teammates take hits better. Other attacks like Sludge Bomb to threaten Hatterene and Arceus-Fairy and Shadow Ball to more immediately threaten Calyrex-S can also be used. Haban Berry + Draco Meteor can also be helpful to let Eternatus survive an Outrage or Draco Meteor from Koraidon or Miraidon and OHKO it back without any investment, but this leaves Eternatus vulnerable to Spikes. Dragon Tail can be used to phaze anything that tries setting up on Eternatus like Tera Poison Calm Mind Kyogre or Arceus-Fairy. Fire Spin is sometimes used to trap walls such as Blissey and bulky Arceus formes as well as Kyogre Choice-locked into a move like Ice Beam against Tera Steel Eternatus, but both Dragon Tail and Fire Spin are incredibly niche options, as they do not get many opportunities to be used. Most of the aforementioned options also require dropping Toxic Spikes, which is much more valuable in most scenarios.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Tera Poison Users**: Tera Poison on Ting-Lu and defensive Arceus formes gives them an immunity to Toxic and Toxic Spikes, making it difficult to spread poison and break through teams, as they remove Toxic Spikes and take very little damage from Dynamax Cannon. Calm Mind Kyogre likes to run Tera Poison in conjunction with Thunder Wave to use Eternatus as setup fodder. Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy can similarly turn Eternatus into setup fodder by running this Tera type.

**Steel-types**: Without Fire Blast or Flamethrower, Eternatus is walled by Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit, as they take little to no damage from Dynamax Cannon and are immune to poison.

**Dragon-types**: Faster Dragon-types like Miraidon and Koraidon can easily threaten and force out Eternatus with their powerful Dragon-type attacks but are unable to safely switch into it.

**Ground-type Coverage**: Earthquake from offensive Ho-Oh, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and Ting-Lu as well as Ground-type Judgment from the aforementioned Arceus-Ground can threaten Eternatus for large amounts of damage and force it out.

**Calyrex-S**: Calyrex-S can threatren Eternatus with its powerful Psychic-type attacks or lock it into Toxic Spikes or Recover with Encore and can threaten to sweep if not dealt with properly.

**Calyrex-I**: Calyrex-I can OHKO Eternatus with Glacial Lance and become extremely threatening if it sets up Trick Room.

**Hatterene**: Hatterene is able to completely wall Eternatus by blocking status moves, bouncing back Toxic Spikes, and being immune to Dynamax Cannon; it can also paralyze Eternatus with Nuzzle but must be wary of coverage like Sludge Bomb or sun-boosted Fire-type attacks.

Defensive Eternatus acts as an excellent blanket check to Kyogre, defensive Ho-oh, and most Arceus formes that can also help break down the opposing team by spreading poison. sounds a bit weird to read, you could reword this. Toxic Spikes is one of Eternatus' Eternatus's greatest assets as it helps spread poison over the course of the game. Flamethrower or Fire Blast can be used instead to threaten Steel types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Necrozma-DM. This is how we write it in analyses (for future references). Also, mention the downside of running both of them is that you will have to drop Toxic Spikes, which is never good. Also, if there is any significant difference when running Fire blast over Flamethrower or the vice versa, you could mention it in a line or two. If there's nothing notable, then leave it. The default EV spread allows Eternatus outspeed max speed Kyogre and live offensive Arceus-Ground's Earthquake from full HP. However, (AC) an alternative spread with 64 SpA and Modest a Modest Nature guarantees that Eternatus will KO Koraidon from full HP with Dynamax Cannon. Tera Fairy removes all of Eternatus' weaknesses and makes it immune to Dragon. reword this into something like - "makes it immune to Dragon-type attacks from Miraidon, Koraidon." Do mention downsides of it as well. Mention that it becomes weak to Zac-C's Blade, Necrozma-DM's Sunsteel, and takes neutral damage from Kora's Flare Blitz. Tera Steel similarly removes Eternatus' Eternatus's weakness to Dragon Dragon-type moves (sounds better and this is how we write it as well.) while also giving it a valuable resistance to Kyogre's Ice Beam and Arceus' Extreme Speed. Mention that it becomes weak to Korai's Low Kick and Flare Blitz, takes neutral damage from Mira's Drift and becomes weak to CC from Zac-C and EQ from Ting-Lu respectively. Also, mention it becomes weak to Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire, so it can't switch in on Ho-Oh. On the positive side, also mention that Tera Steel makes it resist Fairy's Judgment. Also, the Psychic resistance should be pointed out imo. As well as the Glacial Lance resistance, could come in handy at times. Tera Dark another option, albeit niche, that may be used to improve a team's matchup into Calyrex-S. Talk about the downsides of it as well. Judgment from Fairy, Kora's Low Kick, etc. etc.

Eternatus fits on many balances and bulky offenses balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to blanket check Kyogre, Arceus did you intend to write - "Arceus formes"?, because Etern doesn't check Arceus. ,(RC) and Ho-oh. Koraidon and Miraidon are both excellent partners as Eternatus helps check Kyogre and break down their checks, such as Arceus and Ting Lu, with Toxic and Toxic Spikes. Mention how both Kora and Mira help break Ting-Lu, which causes Eternatus problems with EQ and Ruination. Koraidon in particular enjoys Eternatus reliably switching into defensive Arceus formes like Arceus-Fairy and Ho-oh. Other defensive Pokemon such as Ho-oh, Arceus-Fairy, and Ting Lu are also good teammates since they can switch into Miraidon and Koraidon who easily force it out. This is also not sounding completely right, I think you first mention that how Eternatus is weak to Kora and Mira, and then mention that it likes Pokemon that check them like Ho-Oh, Ting-Lu, Fairy, etc etc. If it Eternatus isn't running Flamethrower of Fire Blast, Eternatus is incapable of hitting Steel-types like Zacian-C or Necrozma-Dusk-Mane Necrozma-DM so Ground types Ground-types that force them out like Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T are also recommended. Mention how it likes Extreme Killer Arceus as well. Helps to check CalyS, and can clean up lategame thanks to Toxic Spikes weakening walls for it. You could also mention Arceus-Water as a partner which helps to check Caly-I and Korai, which Eternatus struggles with. Mention that Eternatus struggles with Hatterene as well, so it likes a partner which can beat Hatt.

Somewhere you could also mention Offensive Ho-Oh.

Life Orb Eternatus can be a decent wallbreaker but is typically ouclassed by Miraidon not really necessary to add it as it is easily chipped down by the combination of Life Orb recoil recoil from Life Orb and Spikes entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock and fails to do anything meaningful to just sounded a bit casual, instead you could say - "despite running LO, its unable to do good damage to Ting-Lu." Ting-Lu. Reflect can be used in conjunction with Toxic to allow Eternatus to 1v1 Ting-lu Ting-Lu, Offensive Ho-oh and Extreme Killer Arceus. Somewhere you must mention how Reflect also helps its own teammates to setup more safely. Other attacks like Sludge Bomb to threaten Hatterene and Arceus-Fairy, Shadow Ball to more immediately threaten Calyrex-S, and Draco Meteor to OHKO Koraidon and Miraidon it kills Miraidon as well :) without any investment can also be helpful but all these aforementioned options typically aren't used much due to being too niche or unreliable. Dragon Tail can be used to phaze out setup sweepers anything that tries setting up on it, (RC) like Tera Poison Calm Mind Kyogre or Arceus-Fairy, (RC) add a full stop here and then talk about Fire Spin in the other sentence, this looks a bit overlapping with each other and Fire Spin is sometimes used to trap and remove Ting-Lu defensive walls such as Ting-Lu and bulky Arceus-formes but these are both incredibly niche options as they are often too risky to click or have little impact due to low damage. Most of these aforementioned options also require dropping Toxic Spikes which is much more valuable in most scenarios.

**Tera Poison users**: Tera Poison on Ting-Lu or and defensive Arceus formes gives them an immunity to Toxic and Toxic Spikes, (AC) making can make it difficult to spread Poison and break through teams as they can now absorb Toxic Spikes as they are now immune to Toxic and remove Toxic Spikes and take very little damage from Dynamax Cannon. Tera Poison on Calm Mind Kyogre when used in conjunction with Thunder Wave and Arceus-Fairy is particularly threatening as they can freely set up on Eternatus and become difficult to stop. I can't really "correct" it as such hear but I think you should say it like this - "Calm Mind Kyogre likes to run Tera Poison in conjunction with Thunder Wave to use Eternatus as fodder." Then in the next sentence, you can mention about how Arceus-Fairy likes to run Tera Poison to use it as setup fodder. This is just sounding jumbled up.

Steel-Types: **Steel-types**: Without Flamethrower or Fire Blast Eternatus is walled by Steel-types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM as they take little to no damage from Dynamax Cannon and are immune to Poison.

Dragon-Types: **Dragon-types**: Faster Dragon-types like Miraidon and Koraidon can easily threaten and force out Eternatus with their powerful Dragon-type attacks but are unable to safely switch in.

Ground-type coverage: **Ground coverage**: Ground-type coverage from offensive Offensive Ho-oh, Arceus-Ground, and Ting-lu can deal a lot of damage to Eternatus and can force it out but they all dislike being poisoned. I think you could also mention them separately since all like to carry different moves. My bad for making this part unclear, I will discuss with QC team and let you know whether you mention all in one or mention each of them separately.

Calyrex: **Calyrex-S**: Both Calyrex-S and Calyrex-I can threatren out Eternatus with their powerful STABs and can threaten to sweep if not dealt with properly. Mention both of them separately, this is making it jumbled up

Hatterene: **Hatterene**:
Hatterene is able to completely wall Eternatus by blocking status moves,(AC) bouncing back Toxic Spikes and being immune to Dragon Dynamax Cannon and can paralyze it with Nuzzle, (AC) but it must be wary of coverage like Sludge Bomb or sun boosted Fire-type attacks.

With its incredible base 145 SpA and the incredible 145 spa is only tingling tinglu .-. you don't want the reader to think etern is good because of its offenses the lack of good hazard control and or Poison-types, it can also quickly wear down opposing defensive cores, often forcing them to use up their Tera to beat it it would be better to instead say something like forcing them to dedicate a tera poison slot to remove etern's tspikes. However it is weak to other Dragon-types such as Miraidon and Koraidon why is it weak to them? explain both having the ability to outspeed and ohko etern and typically struggles with Steel-types such as Zacian-C so a lot of defensive cover is necessary when running Eternatus. emphasize that mons like zac-c, ndm can set up on etern for free as you won't be carrying a fire type move most of the time. also, this is missing the fact etern acts as your natural toxic spikes absorber, most importantly patching up glimmora and other etern mu. tspikes being dominant vs hyper offense due to the lack of boots/tspikes absorbers is also important. mention strong physical attackers like necrozma-dm, calyrex-ice, arceus-ground, lando-t forcing etern out due to their super effective stabs

[SET COMMENTS]
Eternatus acts as an excellent blanket check to Kyogre, defensive Ho-oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy and most Arceus formes and can spread poison with the help of Toxic Spikes and Toxic on opposing teams. Toxic Spikes is one of Eternatus's greatest assets as it helps spread poison over the course of the game. second line is mostly same as the first, you wanna reword it (or combine) to sound less repetitive This helps to weaken the opposing defensive core by putting them on a timer. Fire Blast or Flamethrower Flamethrower or Fire Blast can be used instead to threaten Steel types such as Zacian-C, and Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit, with the former providing consistent damage and the latter guaranteeing a 2HKO on Zacian-C and a chance to OHKO it in sun, while the latter provides more consistent damage at the cost of reduced firepower, however this means dropping Toxic Spikes which makes spreading poison much more difficult. The default EV spread allows Eternatus outspeed max Speed Kyogre and live offensive Arceus-Ground's Earthquake from full HP. However, an alternative spread with 64 SpA and a Modest Nature guarantees an OHKO on Koraidon with Dynamax Cannon. feel we could remove the 64 SpA+ mention and just mention Draco instead. Will discuss with QC team and let you know Tera Fairy removes all of Eternatus's weaknesses and makes it immune to Dragon-type attacks from Miraidon and Koraidon this is too basic info, you should be mentioning that it's an emergency check for stuff like draco meteor mirai and stopping koraidon's scale shot and outrage but makes it more vulnerable to Steel-type attacks from Zacian-C and Kingambit Necrozma-DM Eternatus pre-tera is weak to ndm's photon geyser, so it's not like tera fairying makes you worse vs ndm and Flare Blitz from Koraidon. Tera Steel gives similarly removes Eternatus's weakness to Dragon-type moves while also giving again, very basic stuff that can be omitted it a valuable resistance to Ice Beam and Glacial Lance from Kyogre and Calyrex-I respectively. It also grants a resistance Arceus's Extreme Speed, Arceus-Fairy's Judgment, and Psychic-type moves from Calyrex-S. Although, using Tera Steel makes Eternatus weak to Fire-type attacks such as Flare Blitz and Sacred Fire from Koraidon and Ho-Oh respectively. It also makes Eternatus weak to Koraidon's Low Kick and Zacian-C's Close Combat. Furthermore, it removes Eternatus's resistance from Miraidon's Electro Drift, making it easier to kill you can tera steel on a predicted draco, plus it's better to get 2hkoed or pp stall edrift than get ohkoed by draco meteor. Tera Dark another option, albeit niche, that may be used to improve a team's matchup into Calyrex-S but makes Eternatus weak to Arceus-Fairy's Judgment and Koraidon's Low Kick while removing its resistance of Fire-type moves from Koraidon and Ho-Oh losing fire resistance was already mentioned above so it's fine to not mention it again and also reducing its ability to check Kyogre and Ho-Oh i think being worse at checking hooh and kyogre is common to all three teras, so you should mention that as a shared downside instead of tera dark's drawback alone.

Eternatus fits on more passive balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to act as both a Toxic Spikes absorber and spreader which can take on threats like Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy for its teammates. blanket check Kyogre and Ho-oh and spread poison with Toxic Spikes. Koraidon and Miraidon are both excellent partners as Eternatus helps check Kyogre and puts their checks, such as Arceus and Ting Lu, on a timer with Toxic or Toxic Spikes. Both of them also help to break Ting-Lu that can cause problems for Eternatus. Koraidon in particular enjoys Eternatus reliably switching into defensive Arceus formes like Arceus-Fairy and Ho-oh. this needs to be reworded, you should first mention what mirai/korai do for etern and then etern's role in helping them. checking kyogre is okay, but that's not something mirai/korai need that much assistance with. soaking status like burn, paralysis etc. from the likes of bulky arceus formes, ho-oh and kyogre, is another point to be emphasized Eternatus is vulnerable to Koraidon and Miraidon who force it out with strong Dragon-type attacks so Pokemon that can check them such as Ho-oh, Arceus-Fairy, and Ting Lu also make good teammates. Ting-Lu also helps Eternatus by switching into Calyrex-S's Psychic-type moves which deal massive damage to it, or can lock Eternatus into Toxic Spikes or Recover via Encore. If Eternatus isn't running Fire Blast or Flamethrower Flamethrower of Fire Blast, Eternatus is incapable of hitting Steel-types like Zacian-C, or Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit so Ground-types that force them out like Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T are also recommended. Arceus-Water can check both aforementioned Steel-types and Koraidon, as well as switching into Calyrex-I. include arceus-ground, arceus too Extreme Killer Arceus helps to check Calyrex-S and benefits from Eternatus weakening the opposing defensive structure so it can clean up late game. Eternatus also struggles with Hatterene as it blocks Toxic and Toxic Spikes and is immune to Dynamax Cannon so Pokemon that can beat Hatterene like Ho-oh or Arceus-Ground, are appreciated. However, Fire Blast under sun can 2HKO Hatterene. Setup sweepers like Scale Shot Koraidon, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and Swords Dance Zacian-C can easily force Eternatus out and set up on it. Set up sweepers that can force it out like Scale Shot Koraidon and Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground are also threatening as they can easily force Eternatus out and set up reworded to sound better so reliable checks to them like Defensive Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Water are recommended.

Life Orb Eternatus can be a decent wallbreaker but it is easily chipped down by the combination of recoil from Life Orb and entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock and despite running LO, its unable to do good damage to Ting-Lu. Eternatus is a versatile Pokemon that is mostly used on passive balance and bulky offense teams due to its unique typing and repeated next sentence so i think it's fine to remove it access to Toxic and Toxic Spikes. Thanks to its unique typing and great defensive stats Eternatus is one of the reliable answers to Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water and Arceus-Fairy and can absorb Toxic Spikes set by opposing Glimmora, Eternatus, and Gliscor for its team without having to Tera. With the lack of good hazard control and opposing Poison-types, it can also quickly wear down opposing teams defensive cores it also helps to chip offensive teams so just say teams for general case, often forcing them to Tera Poison to remove Toxic Spikes. However it is weak to other Dragon-types such as Miraidon and Koraidon because they can outspeed and OHKO it and typically struggles with Steel-types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM which can easily set up on Eternatus if it's lacking a Fire-type attack, as well as other strong physical attackers such as Calyrex-I and Arceus-Ground which can force Eternatus out with their super effective STABs, so a lot of defensive support cover is necessary when running Eternatus.

Eternatus acts as an excellent blanket check to Kyogre, defensive Ho-oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy which pressures opposing teams with and can spread poison with the help of Toxic Spikes and Toxic on opposing teams. Toxic Spikes is one of Eternatus's greatest assets as it helps spread poison over the course of the game and helps weaken the opposing defensive core by putting them on a timer. Toxic Spikes especially overwhelms pressure hyper offense teams as it quickly chips down their sweepers as they and typically don't have a way to remove them. Fire Blast or Flamethrower can be used instead to threaten Steel types such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit with the former guaranteeing a 2HKO on Zacian-C and a chance to OHKO it in sun, while the latter provides more consistent damage at the cost of reduced firepower, however this means dropping Toxic Spikes which makes spreading poison much more difficult. Dynamax Cannon is Eternatus's main STAB move but Draco Meteor can be run instead, trading consistency for the ability to OHKO both Koraidon and Miraidon. The given EV spread allows Eternatus to outspeed max Speed Kyogre and live offensive Arceus-Ground's Earthquake from full HP. Tera Fairy removes all of Eternatus's weaknesses and makes it immune to Dragon-type, fluff allows Eternatus allowing it to block Miraidon's Draco Meteor and Koraidon's Scale Shot or Outrage in an emergency but makes it more vulnerable to Steel-type attacks from Zacian-C and Kingambit and Flare Blitz from Koraidon. Tera Steel gives it a valuable resistance to Ice Beam and Glacial Lance from Kyogre and Calyrex-I respectively. It also makes Eternatus weak to Koraidon's Low Kick and Zacian-C's Close Combat. Tera Dark another option, albeit niche, that may be used to improve a team's matchup into Calyrex-S but makes Eternatus weak to Arceus-Fairy's Judgment and Koraidon's Low Kick. All three Tera types also reduce Eternatus's ability to check Kyogre and Ho-Oh so the user must be wary before committing to Tera.

Eternatus fits on more passive balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to act as both a Toxic Spikes absorber and spreader which can take on threats like Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy for its teammates. They both also appreciate Eternatus's ability to soak up status effects and Koraidon in particular enjoys Eternatus reliably switching into defensive Arceus formes like Arceus-Fairy and Ho-oh. Eternatus is vulnerable to Koraidon and Miraidon who force it out with strong Dragon-type attacks so Pokemon that can check them such as Ho-oh, Arceus-Fairy, and Ting Lu also make good teammates. Ting-Lu also helps Eternatus by switching into Calyrex-S's Psychic-type moves which deal massive damage to it, or can lock Eternatus into Toxic Spikes or Recover via Encore. If Eternatus isn't running Fire Blast or Flamethrower, Eternatus is incapable of hitting Steel-types like Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit so Ground-types that force them out like Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T are also recommended. Arceus-Water can check the aforementioned Steel-types and Koraidon, as well as switching into Calyrex-I, Arceus-Ground, and Extreme Killer Arceus. Extreme Killer Arceus helps to check Calyrex-S and benefits from Eternatus weakening the opposing defensive structure so it can clean up late game. Setup sweepers like Scale Shot Koraidon, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and Swords Dance Zacian-C can easily force Eternatus out and set up on it so reliable checks to them like Defensive Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Water are recommended.
needs a bit of grammar polishing but GP team will handle that, otherwise nicely written

Life Orb Eternatus can be a decent wallbreaker but it is easily chipped down by the combination of recoil from Life Orb and entry hazards such as Spikes and Stealth Rock and despite running Life Orb, its unable to do good damage to Ting-Lu. Reflect can be used in conjunction with Toxic to allow Eternatus to 1v1 Ting-Lu, Offensive Ho-oh and Extreme Killer Arceus and can also help its teammates take hits better. Other attacks can like Sludge Bomb to threaten Hatterene and Arceus-Fairy and Shadow Ball to more immediately threaten Calyrex-S can also be used but they typically aren't used much due to being too niche or unreliable already mentioned below why they are not used often so unnecessary. Haban Berry in conjunction with Draco Meteor to OHKO Koraidon and Miraidon without any investment while surviving the former's Outrage and the latter's Draco Meteor can also be helpful but leaves Eternatus vulnerable to Spikes. Dragon Tail can be used to phaze out anything that tries setting up on it like Tera Poison Calm Mind Kyogre or Arceus-Fairy. Fire Spin is sometimes used to trap defensive walls such as Blissey and bulky Arceus-formes and Kyogre Choice locked into a move like Ice Beam against Tera Steel Eternatus but all these are both incredibly niche options as they do not get many opportunities to be used. Most of these aforementioned options also require dropping Toxic Spikes which is much more valuable in most scenarios.

Checks and Counters

**Tera Poison users**: Tera Poison on Ting-Lu and defensive Arceus formes gives them an immunity to Toxic and Toxic Spikes, making it difficult to spread Poison and break through teams as they remove Toxic Spikes and take very little damage from Dynamax Cannon. Calm Mind Kyogre likes to run Tera Poison in conjunction with Thunder Wave to use Eternatus as setup fodder. Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy can similarly turn Eternatus into set up fodder by also running Tera Poison.

**Steel-types**: Without Fire Blast or Flamethrower, Eternatus is walled by Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit as they take little to no damage from Dynamax Cannon and are immune to Poison.

**Dragon-types**: Faster Dragon-types like Miraidon and Koraidon can easily threaten and force out Eternatus with their powerful Dragon-type attacks but are unable to safely switch in.

**Ground coverage**: Earthquake from Offensive Ho-oh, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, and Ting-Lu as well as Ground-type Judgments from the aforementioned Arceus-Ground can threaten Eternatus for large amounts of damage and force it out.

**Calyrex-S**: Calyrex-S can threatren Eternatus with its powerful Psychic-Type attacks or lock it into Toxic Spikes or Recover with Encore and can threaten to sweep if not dealt with properly.

**Calyrex-I**: Calyrex-I can OHKO Eternatus with Glacial Lance and can become extremely threatening if it sets up Trick Room.

**Hatterene**: Hatterene is able to completely wall Eternatus by blocking status moves, bouncing back Toxic Spikes and being immune to Dynamax Cannon and can paralyze it with Nuzzle, but it must be wary of coverage like Sludge Bomb or sun boosted Fire-type attacks.

[OVERVIEW]
Eternatus is a versatile Pokemon that is mostly used on passive balance and bulky offense teams due to its access to Toxic and Toxic Spikes. Thanks to its unique typing and great defensive stats, (comma) Eternatus it is one of the a reliable answers answer to Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, (comma) and Arceus-Fairy and can absorb Toxic Spikes set by opposing Glimmora, Eternatus, and Gliscor. With the lack of good entry hazard control options and opposing Poison-types, it can also quickly wear down opposing teams, often forcing them to use Tera Poison to remove Toxic Spikes. However, (comma) it is weak to other Dragon-types such as Miraidon and Koraidon because they can outspeed and OHKO it, (comma) and it typically struggles with Steel-types such as Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM, (comma) which can easily set up on Eternatus it if it's lacking a Fire-type attack, as well as attack. Additionally, other strong physical attackers such as Calyrex-I and Arceus-Ground which can force Eternatus out with their super effective STABs STAB moves, so a lot of defensive support is necessary when running Eternatus it.

Eternatus acts as is an excellent blanket check to Kyogre, defensive Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy which that pressures opposing teams with Toxic Spikes and Toxic. Toxic Spikes is one of Eternatus's greatest assets, (comma) as it helps spread poison over the course of the game and helps weaken weakens the opposing defensive core by putting them on a timer. Toxic Spikes and especially overwhelms hyper offense teams as because it quickly chips down their sweepers as they typically don't have due to them not having a way to remove them it. Fire Blast or Flamethrower can be used instead to threaten Steel types Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Necrozma-DM, and Kingambit, (comma) with the former guaranteeing a 2HKO on Zacian-C and having a chance to OHKO it in sun, while the latter provides sun and the latter providing more consistent damage at the cost of reduced firepower, however firepower. However, this means dropping Toxic Spikes, (comma) which makes spreading poison much more difficult. Dynamax Cannon is Eternatus's main preferred STAB move, (comma) but Draco Meteor can be run instead, trading consistency for the ability to OHKO both Koraidon and Miraidon. The given EV spread allows Eternatus to outspeed max maximum Speed Kyogre and live survive offensive Arceus-Ground's Earthquake from full HP. Tera Steel gives it a valuable resistance valuable resistances to Ice Beam and Glacial Lance from Kyogre and Calyrex-I respectively. It also grants a resistance Kyogre's Ice Beam, Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance, Arceus's Extreme Speed, Arceus-Fairy's Judgment, and Psychic-type moves from Calyrex-S. Although, using Tera Steel makes Eternatus weak to Fire-type attacks such as Flare Blitz and Sacred Fire from Koraidon and Ho-Oh respectively. It also makes Eternatus weak to Ho-Oh, respectively, as well as Koraidon's Low Kick and Zacian-C's Close Combat. Tera Dark is another option, albeit niche, that may be used to improve a team's matchup into against Calyrex-S, (comma) but it makes Eternatus weak to Arceus-Fairy's Judgment and Koraidon's Low Kick. All three Tera types also reduce Eternatus's ability to check Kyogre and Ho-Oh, (comma) so the user must be wary before committing to Tera Terastallizing.

Eternatus fits on more passive balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to act as both a Toxic Spikes absorber and spreader which that can take on threats like Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Arceus-Water, and Arceus-Fairy for its teammates. Arceus-Fairy. Koraidon and Miraidon are both excellent partners, (comma) as the former can threaten Steel-type Pokemon, (comma) and the latter helping helps to break bulky Ground-types such as Ting-Lu and Arceus-Ground.
