Alright! As a Pokémon ‘competitive’ player I really hate battles that drag out. I have tried doing multiple battles ate one but I find I don’t concentrate well enough to win the battle enough. So I have decided to make a team that focus around 10-15 turn battles with frequent sweeps and sometimes me getting sweeped :P.
Feel free to comment, critique and anything in between but beware, any stally don’t waste your time because I do love my battles short! For starters I was wondering if politoed + volbeat better suits my team than ninetales + victini as I have used both combinations and they make similar results. So far I have peaked at 4000 amongst 60 000 players on the PO server on Pokémon online. Reading upon my finished work I realized I have no left overs in it. A like for that?

Possible changes in BLUE
My Team:
Ninetales
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Drought
Nature:Modest
EV’s:126 HP/126 SpA/252 Spe
Moves:
-Flamethrower
-Will o’ Wisp
-Solarbeam
-Toxic
Role: My ninetales is pretty much my lead it’s mainly to counter other pesky weather and power up the victini sweep. Its dual statuses serves a purpose to cripple my opponents physical attackers like t-tar and garchomp as well as toxic for the bulkier type. The focus sash ensures I have at least one go at giving them a burn against setup physical sweepers with earthquake and if I do pretty much my victini/gorebyss setup can initiate.
It does mediocre damage but it can OHKO cloyster provided it doesn’t have focus sash al though all do and scare away nattorei and skarmony. It’s definitely bulky but the fact that earthquake is so common means I need focus sash. I am thinking about switching this because the sun doesn’t do my sweet gorebyss any good.
Victini
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Victory Star
Nature:Brave
EV’s: 252 HP/252 Atk/4SpD
Moves:
-Trick Room
-V Create
-Wild Charge
-U Turn
Victini is amazing and it is a wonder to me why it is UU. With it’s natural bulk and wish support it can keep going and going. The tactic is pretty simple. Drought+trick room+ trick room spamming! The damage is does is amazing even if resisted it still does more than half pretty against Jellicent which is amazing I even once OHKOed Blissey which is quite amazing with v-create. The obvious down falls of this tactic is the lowering of defenses and speed making it easy setup bait or glass cannon. The trick room repels that meaning I can get a lot of v-creates and then I u-turn the heck out of there to avoid possible setups but I still am in danger of priority moves.
I know I said I don’t like stalling but I was wondering is I should get chansey/blissey to give it back hp with wish to repeat the process all over again. I have thought about but with toxi orb it unlikely that it would survive once switched in so should I switch life orb with something like expert belt? I am also thinking about scrapping this if I am replacing ninetales with politoed :(
Sigilyph
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Magic Guard
EV’s: 252 HP/126 Def/126 SpD
Nature:Bold
Moves:
-Cosmic Power
-Stored Power
-Roost
-HP Fighting
This set for sigilyph is unconventional. Most carry the flame orb and psycho shift which is perfectly fine but since this is one of the two Pokémon I would like to give shell smash the one attacking move of psychic just wasn’t good enough since shell smash is only a one time thing due to the defense drops and the non recyclability of white herb so I don’t wanna switch out when dark comes a knocking. Therefore I sacrificed psycho shift with life orb and HP fighting to counter the dark types.
The amazing thing about baton passing to this is that the +6 stat gain from shell smash mean a straight of the bat(on) of 140 base power with stored power along with the life orb and the +2 special attack boosts makes this another deadly OHKO if it can set up with cosmic powers as well. Without magic guard this wouldn’t cut the team but luckily it does, meaning no life orb recoil and I can setup on leech seeders. The sweeping team of Conkeldurr and Sigilyph is one of my proudest creations on Pokémon. The reason why I don’t have attack EV’s on this sweeper is simply because it doesn’t need, it’s bulk for cosmic power and baton passing to is more of a priority for this set.
Conkeldurr
Item:Flame Orb
Ability:Guts
EV’s:126 hp/ 252 Atk/ 126 Spe
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
-Drain Punch
-Mach Punch
-Stone Edge
-Payback
With testing, this in my opinion works the best with gorebyss which in all is amazing. After the guts boost and 2+ it pretty much OHKOs with a manly 1296 attack stat anything on the other team. It has amazing coverage with the STAB drain punch and priority to drain back hp lost from flame orb burn and then stone edge to counter flying types like dragonite and payback to counter gengar my nemesis for conkeldurr.
The reason why I added speed EV’s on conkeldurr should be obvious, it is to get more from the +2 from shell smash. If I didn’t add speed EV’s its speed after the +2 would only be around 250. Now with the speed EV’s it is at a solid 332 loosing only to scarfed Pokemon pretty much. This Pokemon also compliment my psychic types of victini and sigilyph as well hydreigon that can help.
Gorebyss
Item:White herb
Ability: Swift Swim
EV’s: 252 HP/126 SpD/126 Spe
Nature:Calm
Moves:
-Shell Smash
-Baton pass
-Protect
-Scald
I love this Pokémon in conjunction with sigilyph and conkeldurr, they have become staples in my OU teams. This thing is very bulky and takes take hits pretty well. Its main feature is shell smash then baton pass to either conkeldurr or sigilyph preferably. After that it doesn’t really do much, I use it as death fodder or to get of burns on the opponent since it sure lasts a long time. It’s white herb is obviously to get rid of the defense drops which is great since it makes it a reliable thing to baton pass.
It’s swift swim ability is also cool if opponent has drizzle since I can pretty much out speed anything after the shell smash and even make a sweep of its own. With the sun on my team it isn’t viable to sweep so that is why I am asking if I should replace victini and ninetales with my water counter parts.
Hydreigon
Item:Choice Scarf
Ability:Levitate
EV’s: 126 HP/ 252 SpA/ 126 Spe
Nature:Modest
Moves:
-Dragon Pulse
-Dark Pulse
-Fire Blast
-Thunderbolt
This thing is pretty much my revenge killer. This Pokémon was just to fill in the void for 3 setup sweepers and 2 support and I guess as well the lack of speed after my shell smash is gone. It doesn’t need any setup and do deal good damage its sun boosted fireblast also packs a punch against nattorei and skarmony. As well as a scarfed dragon pulse against other dragons once I have identified they not scarfed as well.
The dark typing to goes very well together to compliment the sigilyph and conkeldurr combo to make it s nice trio or I guess dark, psychic, fighting core. This Pokémon on this keep is very replaceable the moment and I am happy to try other effective scarf Pokémon that synergize well with my Pokémon.
Past Members
Politoed
Item:Leftovers
Ability:Drizzle
Nature:Modest
EV’s: 252 HP/ 252 SpA/ 4 SpD
Moves:
-Encore
-Hydro Pump
-Ice beam
-Toxic
I am not sure if I like this over ninetales, it has its pro cons when synergizing with my team compared to nintales. Its drizzle gives gorebyss a good boost but also nerfs my hydreigons fire blast and I have to say goodbye to buddy victini :(
Volbeat
Item:Focus Sash
Ability:Swarm (Prankster in Dream World)
Nature:Timid
EV’s: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spe
Moves:
-Tail Glow
-Baton pass
-Seismic Toss
-Thunder wave
I use this over victini when I have politoed. I normally batong pass the +3 tail glow to my scarfed hydreigon meaning a solid sweep with hydreigon. I have thunder wave to also cripple fast opponents.
Hope you enjoy the read and hopefully you will read all of it. Please leave comments giving me ways to improve the team because winning is just as important a quick games! Cheers.
