Introduction: This team has surprisingly been successful. With the lack of a phazer or priority on some teams, it hurts. This team can just go right through a team. I've gotten a ton of 6-0's on this team, and some guys not so much. I have some trouble with better players, but then again this is a gimmicky team so it's not set in stone playstyle and you have to play around the opposing players skill. This team plateaued in the 1300's, but without rocks and the ability to nullify other pokes sweepers this team hasn't reached it's full potential. That is why I'm willing to give up the set and try to find a solution.

The Team

@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Perish Song

My weather inducer. Who does it better than Politoed (besides Kyogre). Anyway, I decided to run Scarf on him. Gives unpredictability bonus, as not as many people would assume Politoed is scarfed. Honestly there's no other reason for running Scarf other than outspeeding some threats and for the unpredictability factor. I like to run Perish Song incase anyone decides to try and set up or they happen to get a sub they have three turns to GTFO or die.

@ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower

Standard Choice Band Scizor set. Hits things hard with Bullet Punch while giving itself decent coverage with Pursuit and Superpower and U-turn for obvious STAB and scout options. I like to run pursuit to trap Ghosts as well as trap Latios and Latias who just happen to not be carrying HP Fire (which is rare).

front.gif
@ Expert Belt
Trait: Motor Drive
EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Thunder
- Brick Break
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Flamethrower

My main man. The man guy on this team. With a little creativity, I made MixVire a viable threat in this metagame. With a smash pass, MixVire had trouble not OHKO'ing anything that decides to switch in. I run Thunder > Thunderbolt because Politoed sets up the rain, and the extra STAB and extra attack bonus just help out with taking down the opposing team. Flamethrower + Expert Belt OHKO's Scizor un boosted even in rain so I decided to go with the more consistent and reliable Flamethrower > Fire Blast. Flamethrower boosted also does a chunk to Ferrothorn and other pokes where Flamethrower would be necessary for use. I run Hidden Power [Grass] over Hidden Power [Ice] because this set doesn't have as much trouble with Salamence and Dragonite, but with Gastrodon and Swampert. This set gets walled pretty hard by them, so I decided that I would run Hidden Power [Grass] for them and it's helped out a ton.

@ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower

My second sweeper. He's my opposite weather if i lose the weather war sweeper as two of his other moves (Flamethrower and Ice Beam) benefit from other weather effects. Sheer Force + Life Orb + It's type coverage + a shell smash, it's hard for this thing as well to not kill anything. Thunder for the same reason as Electivire, Thunder for extra attack boost. Every move I run abuses Sheer Force with all of them enjoying the extra boost from that as well as Life Orb and Nidoking's mediocre Special Attack stat. Usually run this when the other team is predicting the switch to Electivire, or when Electivire is dead.

@ Choice Specs
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn
- Focus Blast

My revenge killer. This thing honestly destroys. Specs Hurricane just absolutely demolishes things in Rain, and with a shell smash it's even more devastating. This thing does so much damage and just cleans up at the end of the game so easily. HP Ice is for Gliscor, U-turn is for scouting, and focus blast is for T-tar and such.

@ White Herb
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 24 SDef / 232 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Scald
- Shell Smash
- Ice Beam

The shell smash passer. Besides just passing, Gorebyss can still hit pokes hard. With investment in bulk, it's attack isn't at it's best but it's still decent. I usually use this for a couple of pokes when someone is predicting a switch to another poke, and aren't expecting Gorebyss to be running any moves. Ice Beam is for dragons and grass types and Scald is for STAB purposes. Since swift swim is banned, I run Hydration because I have to, and it helps make Gorebyss the status absorber on the team with rain in the air.

Politoed (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Perish Song

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Quick Attack
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower

Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Motor Drive
EVs: 40 Atk / 252 SAtk / 216 Spd
Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Thunder
- Brick Break
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Flamethrower

Nidoking (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower

Tornadus (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn
- Focus Blast

Gorebyss (M) @ White Herb
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 24 SDef / 232 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Scald
- Shell Smash
- Ice Beam

Conclusion:
I'm looking for a couple things. As you can see I have no rocks. That's a problem. I can't seem to find a poke that can fit on this team and have the ability to set up some rocks. Sturdy and Sash pokes just kill my sweeps. Also, I don't have a phazer or a lot of priority either. If anyone can find a poke to fit on this team and have some of these qualities that'd be great.

I faced this team on the Beta ladder, I think I was sitting around 1540 at the time, my team however lacked priority other than Azumarill which can't do shit to Gorebyss so you swept me and I was pissed.

Yeah. Hi again.

Nice team etc., will rate later.

Nice team, although there are a couple of issues with it.

First of all, you have no back-up plan. If Gorebyss goes down then all you have are two Pokemon who are pretty much dead weight without boosts and two not very flexible Choice item users. This team is also extremely reliant on weather staying up, and is weak to anti-weather Pokemon such as, Ferrothorn, Jirachi, Celebi and Latias. To fix this, I suggest you replace Nidoking with the amazing rain Volcarona.

Volcarona @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
-Quiver Dance
-Bug Buzz
-Hurricane
-Fire Blast

Bug Buzz OHKOes Celebi and 2HKOes 252 HP Latias, Fire Blast OHKOes Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Forretress and Scizor even in the rain most of the time and Hurricane even has a chance of OHKOing offense Dragonite after Stealth Rock.

Also you have no Stealth Rock which is pretty bad. So I suggest you use Jirach over Tornadus. You say Tornadus is your revenge killer but the lack of Choice Scarf really hurts him. Parafusion Jirachi is even more effective in the rain thanks to Thunder and gives you a secondary Dragon resist.

385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
-Thunder
-Water Pulse
-Wish
-Stealth Rock

This thing only gets OHKOed by STAB Earthquakes under rain. Thunder has a great 60% paralysis rate and Water Pulse gets pseudo-STAB and a 40% chance to confuse the opponent. Wish heals your team and can help you pull off more than one SmashPass and Stealth Rock gets some previous damage on opponents.

Also if you want more security against the number one threats to Rain teams (Latios and Latias) then run more Special Defense on Scizor, but that's up to you.

I've been running this team with a few minor changes with relative success. First off, rocks are entirely necessary for EVire sweeping. I put Dual Screen Rachi over Nido, as Nido was primarily filler anyway and was too slow to operate late game. The screens are an immense help for Gorey to BP safely. I also am running Ice Punch > HP Grass on EVire. I do realize you are then walled by Quagy, Gastro, and to some extent full health Donphan, but they are much less common than Gliscor and the Latis, which need are smacked by Ice Punch.

Also, Cross Chop > BB on EVire. The boost in power is needed, regardless of the drop in accuracy. I've been running HP Electric on Poil now since Gyara gives this team a ton of problems. As far as EVire's EVs, you don't really need to run all that speed. I just give it enough to outrun scarf Terak, 140, and dump the rest into Attack. I might consider throwing some in defenses for extra bulk on passes.

Some personal minor swithces I made that you can try if you want is Rest > IB on Gorey. Works great in conjuction with Hydration. Also, I run less speed, just enough to outpace base 120s. I haven't tested this yet, but maybe try Rain Starmie or Volca over Tornadus. Tornadus really hits like a truck and is a force if passed too, but the team currently isn't too flexible VS other weathers with two choice users. TTar does not like taking Volcas + 1 Bug Buzz or a LO Starmie HP. But I must say, the team is alot of fun to use, and I like the rain synergy between EVire and Hydration Gorey. Lots of mindgames
