R.M.F.T.

R.M.F.T. = Rate my first team

Anyway here's my first competitive team used for standard battles! Go ahead and compliment/critisise it! I need some suggestions for some final improvements too.

Flygon @ Expert Belt
Adamant 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

My lead. Earthquake's the main move and U-Turn to switch. Other moves for type covering.

Charizard @ Life Orb
Modest 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse/Overheat
- Focus Blast/HP Water

I decided to make Charizard special as I didn't like the idea of Belly Drum. Dragon Pulse is the original move but Overheat seems to be quite powerful with Blaze is activated. Focus Blast is for those pesky Rock types but I also have HP Water, though it's kinda weak with a 60 base power.

Gallade @ Expert Belt
Adamant 236 HP / 220 Atk / 52 Spe
- Close Combat
- Psycho Cut
- Sword Dance
- Hypnosis

Sword Dancer with Hypnosis.

Forrestress @ Occa Berry
Impish 252 HP / 162 Atk / 96 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Earthquake
- Explosion

My toxic spiker and rapid spinner. I've just realised I've ran out of Leftovers, will Occa Berry help it survive a fire attack? (I'll probably replace it with Lefties when I find another one) If it's a bad item another suggested item will be appreciated.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 SpA
- Surf
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic/Ice Beam

The original moveset is Surf, Toxic, Protect and Wish. But I only recently realised Forretress can learn Toxic Spikes. Should I go with Ice Beam instead, as it can do something to those pesky dragons?

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Timid 96 HP / 252 Special Attack / 160 Speed
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight

Calm Minder with Moonlight.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

Changes Made:
Night Slash and Life Orb on Gallade
Still looking for more Leftovers with Pickup...

I won't replace any team members now, at least not until I've seen them in action. And Forretress needs a Relaxed nature to pull out a good Gyro Ball, so...I'll stick with EQ.

Any other suggestions?

All I have is:

Spikes>Toxic Spikes on Forey
You don't wanna give anyone a free Guts boost, especially someone like Hera. If you REALLY want Toxic support, keep it on Vapey. Ice Beam on Vapey won't do much to dragons, just use Flygon's Dragon Claw and Charizard's Dragon Pulse to take care of them.

Flygon @ Expert Belt
Adamant 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

I would advise to add Choice Scarf over this to help with the speed ties, it's best to go first. EVs are fine.

Charizard @ Life Orb
Modest 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse/Overheat
- Focus Blast/HP Water

Once again, an item like Specs or Scarf will get the best from this kind of set. I would advise sticking with Focus Blast and Dragon Pulse over the less important 2nd Fire-type attack and HP [Water]. EVs are standard for a Choice item.

Gallade @ Expert Belt
Adamant 236 HP / 220 Atk / 52 Spe
- Close Combat
- Psycho Cut
- Sword Dance
- Hypnosis

I am not going to lie, this set's good. The lack of speed is the reason why I'm going to advise you to use a different Pokemon to help out the team. The team you have can't rely on Cressilia alone to take Special attacks, especially with Moonlight which has only 8 PP. I advise using Blissey over this, with Wish and Softboiled. Then, two moves of your choice: Ice Beam / Seismic Toss / Toxic / Thunderbolt. You will have to use Modest, so I advise the following EV spread: 16 HP / 252 Defense / 240 Satk (to OHKO Dragons like Garchomp and Salamence).

Forrestress @ Occa Berry
Impish 252 HP / 162 Atk / 96 Def
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Earthquake
- Explosion

I don't like this because of the way you're using Forre. I know this is in-game and it's hard for me to help such a team (not knowing what kind of access you have). So, I would suggest Leftovers straight away when you can get your hands on another one. I would then add Stealth Rock over Explosion. SR is very important and is becomming a must for msot teams, I can't see why it would be so bad over Explosion (you could do with Forrre, so get rid of Explosion). Max HP is good, but I would like you to invest more into Defense and SDef. 252 HP / 176 Defense / 80 SDef.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 SpA
- Surf
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic/Ice Beam

Vaporeon is a helpful Gyarados counter, you will most likely be seen as a HP [Electric] Vappy, so when he switches and you flash Toxic, he could then Taunt you later on as he won't fear HP [Electric]. I would Max the HP taking out the Satk EVs, adding Hidden Power [Electric] over Toxic.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Timid 96 HP / 252 Special Attack / 160 Speed
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight

With the two choice leads (Flygon and Charizard), you don't need this as your special sweeper who has some stability. You could really do with using this as a Sleep Talker with Max Hp and Defense (Bold Nature). Then, take Calm Mind and Moonlight off for Rest and Sleep Talk.

I know this is an ingame team, but I still gave you my opinion. I don't know what your relationship ios with Shoddy, but I suggest gettign on there and making this team more competitive on there. Practicing and learning what's out there.

Mainly helping out with the EVs and Movesets, changing alot of Pokemon to create a standard team isn't the best option. I have thought about this and I've tried to help your team without changing too much.

Why would you use all of those HP EVs on the sleep&sweep Gallade, only to chip away at it with Life Orb? You should either use leftovers or a more offensive EV spread. More speed will help, to outspeed Tyranitar and Gliscor.

Thanks guys, just returned from from my battles. 2 victories, 1 draw (he d/c'd)

Anyway I went with Spikes but it didn't go very well, I also didn't get the chance to explode either. I will take Taylor's advice and use SR instead.

As for Vapy I guess I wasted an Ice Beam TM on him, should've gone with Toxic. I don't know what HP he's got so I've got to check, hopefully Electric.

I won't use Blissey though, I kinda dislike that Pokemon. Sadly there aren't much good special wall around.

Also, I realised I have some problem taking out water types. None of my moves are super effective against water. Charizard is weak to water and Flygon would cry if hit by Ice Beam (common move on water types). If I'm to replace Gallade I might be better off using an Electric or Grass type, maybe Magnezone?
