Racism Laws, and Legal ways to retaliate.

I live in a mostly white neighboorhood, and ever so often when I'm walking home from school, kids drive by(white kids), who think it's ok to call me a (BAN ME PLEASE)/nigga and rapidly drive away, it happened today for about the 5th or 6th time.

I'm wondering if it's legal for me to retaliate by lets say throwing a rock at the kids car, it's occured to me many times if only I had picked up that rock...

If that's illegal I'm wondering if there is a legal, free way retaliate against these racist bullies.

At first it didn't bother me, it's like these kids are retards, but I look like an idiot when all the kids are waling home, and I called out racially and there's not a damned thing I can do to stop it. I don't think it's so much racism as idiots rich white kids who think they are above the law, which makes it more a Hate Crime than racism.
 
I dunno, I'm not going to try and get into 'Oppression Olympics' here but I think I've an idea of the feeling - I get harassed in the street a fair bit just for being a woman and it drives me insane. I hate it. Sometimes (rarely, for fear of further reprisal) I shout back; most recently, when it really got out of hand (they tailed me and my friend around town for about half an hour) I called the police. That shut them the fuck up, and is worth consideration.
 
Im not a lawyer or anything like that, but Im almost sure it would be a really small crime, as long as the rock doesnt wound one of those assholes. However, I would suggest taking legal actions, maybe reporting them to the police, you could also try to record them, but thats a bit difficult.

Trust me, I know what it is to be bullied, I had my ass kicked many times during elementary, so I know its better to go to an authority

If it's any crime I don't want to do it, as it would be on my record compromising my job, and chance to get into college, recording them would be iffy it's different people from what I can tell everytime, and it doenst happen everyday just once every few weeks.
 
It isn't illegal for you to retaliate, but that doesn't mean you should fall to their level and fight back. Hate crimes are the lowest of them all and you shouldn't have to deal with this day after day. Tell someone; your parents, your friends, a teacher, someone that will help you stop those bullies.

Nobody can guarantee that you will be safe forever from them, but remember that people who hurt another for their color, religion, etc., are nothing but dirt. Don't listen to them!

I'm not sure how telling anyone could possibly stop them it's not just one kid, I don't even know who just random kids, every so often. It's not like there making me question my worth as a person, these kids aren't racist most likely just full blown idiots.
 
Sad to say, if you don't have evidence there's really nothing you can do about. Criminal damage is a crime, if you have proof they racially abused you (unlikely unless you have an alibi/CCTV) then you could get away with it by agreeing not to press charges on either side but I wouldn't bank on that, especially seeing how a dent in the side of a car is tangible whilst racial abuse isn't.

Figured as much I can easily get a witness sister or prove I was there, others kids walking, but can't afford a lawyer anyway, Justice has it's Price, I guess I'll just deal with it.
 
I hate to sound like a dick, but if the kids are idiots, just ignore them and get over it. As long as they're just being idiots and they aren't threatening you, don't worry about what they say.
 
if you know where they live TP their car, pour water all over it to make sure its a complete bitch to get off and then leave a note that says fuck you or something like that.
 
Except for if they know who did it, that could just make the situation worse.

Making racist comments to random people on the street it just low.
 
Them calling you a (BAN ME PLEASE) is offensive, we know. Just ignore them, you're just lowering yourself if you don't ignore them and not care.

If you react by physical harm, you're basically the person doing the crime. If they attack you physically then they're committing a crime.
 
Physical retaliation is a no-no. If there is any possible way, try to figure out just who these people are. Get in contact with their parents, teachers, principals, priest etc... Hopefully one of them can handle it for you. It sucks not being able to fully fight your own battles, but when it comes to verbal abuse there isn't much you can do by yourself to stop it.

If they attend a church talk to the priest about what the are doing. Hopefully he can educate them, or at least force them to attend a lecture on tolerance.

Throwing a rock at a car full of kids who are stupid enough to yell obscenities out the window is a pretty bad idea, you're only asking for those douchebags to get out and assault you. Not worth it.

You can get their license plate numbers and report them to the police, I guess, but if you are looking for direct retaliation I would advise against it...even if it is legal. People drive by gay bars all the time yelling "(BAN ME PLEASE)!" etc...those people are retarded, I just worry that one of these days someone is going to drive by with a gun instead of idiotic words.

People will be people, and people are stupid.

So pretty much if your immature suggestion does not work (and useless too as that would for surely not stop them from shouting (BAN ME PLEASE) at him), he should resort to illegal means that will still accomplish nothing?

I'd say denting their car with a rock would accomplish moral satisfaction.

If you have all the chances in the world to get away with it, man do it. I would.
 
What can you do about it; a country with Freedom of Speech. As Vineon stated, if you can get away with throwing a rock, then do it. Or else those white kids will jump you, haha...

Most people in the US are christian and while many no longer go to church every Sunday they may go every now and then. It was worth mentioning. If they do not go to church then the op can still contact the school/parents and see where that gets him.

However it gives them all the more reason to come after him and take their abuse one step farther. I'd say that the negative consequences would negate any of the positive effects of throwing a rock at their car.


@ the OP: If you really want to get revenge then you can do much better than a stupid rock.

Take bologna and put it on their car. It apparently ruins the paint. You can also stick gooey jolly ranchers on the window overnight. It will cause the glass to become incredibly brittle and shatter easily (closing the door to hard would cause it to shatter).

Oh and I have never actually tested those two things, I just read about them online. Try them at your own risk.

I still think that talking to the parents/teachers/principal/priest would be a far better thing to do.

In America, you can say "(BAN ME PLEASE)" all you want publicly without any charges. Unless ofcourse in designated areas which has its own laws (like schools).
 
No you certainly cannot retaliate.

Shouting offensive words at you does not qualify as a physical assault under the law. Throwing rocks at them would potentially qualify as an assault. If the prosecutor feels like being a dick he'll stick you with "assault with a weapon".

Sorry, but you don't get to assault people for hurting your feelings.
