SV OU Raging Bulky Offense AV SamH

Hello I'm pretty new to the meta game and have recently made my first team https://pokepast.es/a4fcedad3266e6df. I don't really know how to mage this thread look pretty with the little sprites so please bare with me.

Anyway this is a simple little balance team I made. I really like
1733099009123.png
as a partner for Raging Bolt. He hits hard and he sets grassy terrain which helps Bolt sponge an EQ if needed (not ideal but I'm not very good at the game.) Initially I tried to use him with Left Overs but I found that I prefer the hitting power of the Choice Band. Rilla acts as a great little pivot to get Bolt in because I find that people love to drop Moltres, Zapdos, Cor, and other tanky birds in an attempt to wall him. This usually lets me U-Turn out into Bolt, or if I am fearful of burn/para I can double switch instead.
Rillaboom (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- U-turn
- Grassy Glide
- Wood Hammer
- High Horsepower

I think Grassy Glide and Wood Hammer speak for themselves as strong Grass Type stab, but I went with HH to hit the odd Heatran, and Iron Threads, and potentially Gholdengo Too

is next and honestly he's got to be my favorite Pokémon ever. But his set is pretty normal as well. Initially I went with a choice spec Voltswicth and Thunderclap spam, but after loosing one to many times to encore spam I switched to booster energy/calm mind.

Raging Bolt @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Discharge
- Calm Mind
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderclap

I found with this set Bolt can 2HKO pretty much everything that isn't Blissy or AV Glowking. Although the odd SPD heavy iron treads does wall him completely. (Hence the HH on Rilla) I went with draco over Dragon Pulse to OHKO any Great Tusks or Lando's trying to switch into a discharge. (Also its just an awesome nuke move.) Terra Fairy is to beat other dragon types, and Discharge is to potentially para things, which I find helps with the 249 speed that my boy is limited to.

Next up is
1733111070010.png
for removal. I went with a Max HP, Max Speed Bulk Up set with leftovers. I find that this set does really well against other Tusks and Treads. Ice Spinner allows him to help with Glicor and a chipped Dragonite. After a spin he's able to out speed Roaring Moon. He also walls Zama. Currently he's Tera Steel to help with Kyrum and Aurora Veil teams

Great Tusk @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

For the 4th Member I went with
1733111305424.png
to serve as a nice physical sponge as well as a pivot. Flame body / wilo-wisp lets Moltres shut down Kinggambit as well as deterring U-turn spam from Meowscarada, Lando, Dragapult, etc. Also I find fire coverage to be really helpful in Gen9, there are a lot of Steel types and Heatran is not nearly as popular as he used too be. I found the team can struggle with Wellspring so I went with a Tera Grass Moltres to completely shut down such a threat.

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Roost

Next is
1733111584333.png
he is the spin blocker of the team as well as a draco switch in. Right now I'm using the max speed set (open to suggestions) because this team is a bit slow. He's Tera Ghost to further power up shadow ball, and to loose his ground weakness in the event of the balloon getting popped (while still preventing Rapid Spin)

Gholdengo @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Recover

Finally we have
1733111847450.png
with AV Tera Poison. With this set and EVs he can take quite a beating from the likes of Kyrum, Iron Crown, Iron Valiant (its a 2hko) and Gholdengo. Ceaseless Edge is great and he also runs sucker punch over aqua jet.

Samurott-Hisui (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sharpness
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 248 HP / 140 Atk / 120 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch

Over all I am quite happy with how the team came out and it got me past 1500 elo for the first time ever. Allow its far from perfect and I welcome feedback/criticism. Things I personally have noticed is that the team is prone to getting warn down in more drawn out games. Particularly against hazard stack. I also found that Garnacal is just the worst Pokémon to run into for some reason and I still have no clue what to add/ change to ease up that match up. The team is quite slow but I feel that for know its been carried by priority spam and Rapid Spin sweeps from Tusk. And other than SamH (who usually dies first) this team lacks some solid SPD walling capabilities. Gholdenge, Moltres, and Rilla usually last the longest due to their recovery but I don't really know what to change around to keep me fellas healthy, speed them up, and retain their hitting power. Thank you for taking the time for reading about my first team.

Hello! For someone that’s new you did a pretty good job with this build!
I’ll suggest changes to make it a bit better and easier to use.

1. I feel you are lacking speed control although you do have dual priority in :rillaboom: and :raging bolt: I feel you could use something to still help vs Pokemon that resist both their priority and example would include :Dragapult: so I opted for scarf :samurott-hisui:

Samurott-Hisui @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sharpness
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Water
Jolly Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Knock Off
- Flip Turn

This team was also lacking in knock so having one is good.

2. Since your aim is to sweep with :raging bolt: I’d suggest to just commit to running thunderbolt > discharge.

3. Make :great tusk: boots you are already technically getting lefties healing with terrain boots help you avoid hazards and spin reliably. I would just make this tusk offensive utility with stealth rock as you are lacking stealth rock as well.

Great Tusk @ Heavy-duty boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Steel
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

4. Since you already have knock you can opt for drain punch on :rillaboom: which does valuable things like OHKOing :Kingambit:

5.
Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Tera Type: Fairy
Bold Nature
- Flamethrower
- Roar
- U-turn
- Roost

You might say this set is a bit strange but I’ll tell you why it will help you. Uturn gives you another pivot that you do need and :Moltres: is good at sponging hits from physical attackers. Roar allows you to stifle sub attempts from :kyurem: which otherwise would be annoying for your team and also :Zamazenta: set up attempts.

Those are the changes I would make good luck have fun!
