Hey all. Names Matt and while I'm not new to competitive battling, I am new to Smogon and submitting my team (especially one as random as this) to the opinions of others. There's really not much to say before you take a look here. I was up for a late night battle and threw together six Pokemon which needed testing whom I (thought) might have some synergy. So yeah. Without further adieu, the pokemanz:
@Focus Sash
Type:
Position: Lead
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Snow Cloak
EV Spread: 4HP, 252Atk, 252Spd
Moveset: Stealth Rock, Ice Shard, Endeavor, EQ
Basic lead Mamoswine. Main goal is to set up Stealth Rock and if I'm lucky maybe get an Earthquake in. If I'm slower and I know the opponent is going to attack after I've set up SR and the sash hasn't been activated yet, I use Endeavor (barring Ghosts) and then Ice Shard to take an early lead and possibly break another sash or at least take a bit more damage out of the opponenet.
@Choice Scarf
Type:
Position: CS/Rain Dancer
Nature: Timid
Ability: Drizzle
EV Spread: 4HP, 252SpAtk, 252Spd
Moveset: Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Focus Blast, Hidden Power
Interesting how well Poli does scarf'd. Hydro Pump is for STAB and power under the rain, though I originally was using Scald the burn I never really got was not worth the severe decrease in power. I really don't mind Hydro Pump's accuracy because to me the sheer power of the attack (that I'm usually lucky enough to have hit) is more than enough to make up for a posisble miss. Ice Beam is to cover dragons and Zapdos who think they can go unchecked, Focus Blast for steels who otherwise laugh in my face and finally HP Grass for bulky waters who also shrug this set off.
@Life Orb
Type:
Position: Special Sweeper/Support
Nature: Modest
Ability: Prankster
EV Spread: 4HP, 252SpAtk, 252Spd
Moveset: Thunder, Hidden Power, Grass Knot, Thunder Wave
A beast under rain. With rocks set up alot of things turn into OHKO's for him with his current set. Thunder is there for STAB and 100% accuracy/para over Thunderbolt in the rain, Grass Knot is to deal with the omniprescent bulky waters/TTar I seem cursed to never get away from, HP Rock takes care of Zapdos (although perhaps fighting would be more effecient?) and finally Thunder Wave is to either slow my opponents down if necessary or get in a last second paralyzation thanks to Prankster if I know I'm slower.
@Focus Sash/Life Orb
Type:
Position: Physical Sweeper
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate (until Moxie is released)
EV Spread: 4HP, 252Atk, 252Spd
Moveset: Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, EQ, Fire Blast
Good old Salamence with Dragon Dance is my dedicated sweeper and Fire Blast is on him to take care of the likes of Ferrothorn/Skarm/Balloon Excadrill who savor the chance to come in and either set up spikes or Swords Dance. Usually I had this guy with Life Orb but I've recently been using Sash to guarantee at least one DD (or revenge kill), barring SR which I usually prevent (or get him in on the turn it's used). Works wonders towards the end of games and is a real clean up guy.
@Leftovers
Type:
Position: Wall/Phazer/Sweeper
Nature: Careful
Ability: Shed Skin
EV Spread: 252HP, 4Atk, 252SpD
Moveset: Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Payback, Dragon Tail
Awesome Pokemon. Great defenses and movepool, he was originally meant to fill a role on a hazard phazing team but I love him any/everywhere. Loves to come in on something I know is carrying a status and get a free Bulk Up before continuing to phaze/dent things. Manages to hold himself really well against a lot of major and minor threats alike, especially Reuniclus who think they can set up. Basically I get a free Bulk Up and they take a Dragon Tail exit right out of the fun.
@Burn Orb
Type:
Position: Wall/Special Sweeper
Nature: Bold
Ability: Magic Guard
EV Spread: 252HP, 124Def, 132SpD
Moveset: Cosmic Power, Psycho Shift, Stored Power, Roost
If and when I get this guy set up, it is always a boss. After tinkering the EV's allow it to have half decent enough defenses vs something either stuck in resisted choice item or (ideally) Hitmontop/other fighting which relies on Sucker Punch to deal with Psychic Pokemon. Assume one Cosmic Power is allowed while they attempt SP and then a second on the switch. That already doubles my defenses AND increases Stored Power's power to base 100. Roost is there to heal off damage and Psycho Shift is just amazing for crippling Physical Sweeper's and Dark Types who think they can scare me out and set up (I'm looking at you, Tyranitar). The only sad thing is that one critical hit can really hurt the set, but it's still awesome to use once a win condition is set (and even itself can begin to set).
...So yeah, that's it. I've attached a recent battle I had that really showed how well each individual played (barring Mamoswine due to tiredness/stupidity on my part x_x) which I thought might interest some people so here you go.

Code:
Offensive Threats

[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/567.png[/IMG] Archeops - See Aerodactyl
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/9/9b/Ani482MS.png[/IMG] Azelf -Most likely as a lead, Mamo can Endeavor/Shard and if not Scrafty and Sigil Wall it to hell and back
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/625.png[/IMG] Bisharp -Scrafty and Sigilyph set up easily against him
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/257.png[/IMG]Blaziken -Poli, Mamo and Thundurus' T-Wave can check
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/7e/Ani286MS.png[/IMG] Breloom -A little harder, but Ice Shard, Poli and Sigil can check
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/609.png[/IMG] Chandelure -Payback Scrafty/Poli
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/638.png[/IMG] Cobalion -Can't say I've seen a single one but Scrafty/Sala can handle pretty decently
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/534.png[/IMG] Conkeldurr -Always an annoyance, best I can do is have Sigil burn and hope it doesn't have Guts/Use Cosmic Power and then attack/Go all out offensive on it
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/555-normal.png[/IMG] Darmanitan -Poli or Salamence can check with Hydro Pump/EQ
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/386-speed.png[/IMG]Deoxys-S -Scrafty
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon149.png[/IMG] Dragonite -Salamence and Politoed readily take care of this guy
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/621.png[/IMG] Druddigon -Salamence/Politoed, same as every other Dragon
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/604.png[/IMG] Eelektross -Everything can manage themselves well enough
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon466.png[/IMG] Electivire -EQ or Drain Punch can wreck it
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/500.png[/IMG] Emboar -Ditto above
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/3/37/Ani395MS.png[/IMG] Empoleon -Drain Punch/Focus Blast/Thunder
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a7/196MS.png[/IMG]Espeon -Payback via Scrafty would love to say hello. Sigil can use it to set up as well.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/589.png[/IMG] Escavalier -Salamence's Fire Blast, despite rain, will do enough
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/530.png[/IMG] Excadrill -Scrafty, Salamence and Politoed can do very well against him
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/445.png[/IMG]Garchomp -Same as other Dragon's
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/649.png[/IMG]Genesect -Fire Blast city
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/18/Ani094MS.png[/IMG] Gengar -Payback and Salamence can destroy it with a nice Dragon Claw
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/623.png[/IMG] Golurk -Politoed and Thundurus do very well against him with either Hydro Pump/Ice Beam or Grass Knot
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d1/Ani130MS.png[/IMG] Gyarados - Thundurus can get it with STAB, Sigilyph can Psycho Shift a burn onto it and Salamence can check it with Intimidate (for the moment).
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/612.png[/IMG] Haxorus -Salamence
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/0/03/Ani485MS.png[/IMG] Heatran -More than enough checks with Politoed, Salamence and Scrafty.
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon214.png[/IMG] Heracross -Sigilyph, Salamence, Politoed can do well against him, although If it for some reason is packing Drain Punch, Stone Edge and Payback I could be in for a very hard time
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/635.png[/IMG] Hydreigon - Salamence and Politoed love to go toe to toe here
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/74/Ani392MS.png[/IMG]Infernape -Anybody with EQ, Hydro Pump, Stored Power...Etc.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/77/Ani385MS.png[/IMG] Jirachi -Salamence and Scrafty are well suited in general circumstances.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/14/Ani135MS.png[/IMG] Jolteon -EQ or Drain Punch work here, it could possibly be trouble if it gets any boosts at all.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/647.png[/IMG] Keldeo -Multiple checks present.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d8/Ani230MS.png[/IMG] Kingdra -If I run into a Kingdra under rain...Well that would be bad, but sashed Salamence could do enough to at the very least set it to be revenged.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/553.png[/IMG] Krookodile -Grass Knot, Hydro Pump, Ice Shard, etc.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/646.png[/IMG] Kyurem -Dragon Claw, HP Rock, Focus Blast.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/645.png[/IMG] Landorus -Politoed loves this match up.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/381.png[/IMG]Latios -Salamence and Politoed like this match up (assuming sash hasn't been broken)
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/549.png[/IMG] Lilligant -Politoed's Ice Beam, Sigilyph's Stored Power and, Salamence in general all hit hard enough to slam it before it becomes too much of a problem
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/b0/Ani448MS.png[/IMG] Lucario -EQ, Fire Blast, Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, Thunder all manage to at least bring Lucario down to revenge killing territory.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/cc/Ani068MS.png[/IMG] Machamp -I'm starting to see I'm not perfectly suited for fighting types but in general it's not a critical weakness
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d8/Ani462MS.png[/IMG] Magnezone -EQ, Fire Blast, Drain Punch can take this puppy out quickly.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/6/67/Ani473MS.png[/IMG] Mamoswine -Easy KO for the taking
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/648-step.png[/IMG]Meloetta-S - Not bothering with since it's unreleased.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/648-voice.png[/IMG]Meloetta-V -Ditto above.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/4/49/Ani376MS.png[/IMG] Metagross -EQ, Fire Blast, Politoed does pretty well.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/620.png[/IMG] Mienshao -Thunder Wave and then a physical attack.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/579.png[/IMG] Reuniclus -Payback/Dragon Tail when it starts to set up.
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon407.png[/IMG] Roserade -Many checks on my team.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/373.png[/IMG]Salamence -Ice beam and Dragon Claw as well as Thunder Wave to cripple it.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/586.png[/IMG] Sawsbuck -Ice Beam and Drain Punch do well here aside from the Jump Kick weakness Scrafty has...
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/b4/Ani212MS.png[/IMG] Scizor -Fire Blast (even if it's under rain), Earthquake, Thunder, may not be KO's but they'll hurt.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/560.png[/IMG] Scrafty-Drain Punch from my own or a nice Focus Blast.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/537.png[/IMG] Seismitoad -Haven't had much experience but I assume Grass Knot or HP Grass?
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/497.png[/IMG] Serperior -Many checks, even if it's not a true threat yet.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/492-land.png[/IMG]Shaymin -Haven't had a real chance to go against it so can't say much aside from Ice Beam.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/561.png[/IMG] Sigilyph -Ice Beam, Thunder, Dragon Claw, all do decently so long as it doesn't have time to set up like myself.
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon235.png[/IMG] Smeargle -Hate it, but it's easy enough to take care of.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/19/Ani121MS.png[/IMG]Starmie -Thunder slams this thing (obviously) and Payback is an ultimate move perfectly tailored to the occasion.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/639.png[/IMG] Terakion -EQ/Drain Punch.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/642.png[/IMG] Thundurus -Ice Beam, Thunder, Thunder Wave.
[IMG]http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon468.png[/IMG] Togekiss -Thundurus, Politoed and Salamence handily take care of him, as does Sigilyph.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/641.png[/IMG] Tornadus -Thundurus and Politoed counter it pretty well.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/59/Ani248MS.png[/IMG] Tyranitar -Politoed stays alive to reactivate rain and lower his special defenses and after that it's easy work. That or Scrafty can Drain Punch the hell out of it.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/df/003MS.png[/IMG]Venusaur - Fire Blast, EQ, Ice Beam, a whole slew of moves are here to see that Venusaur doesn't have it's fun.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/494.png[/IMG] Victini -EQ, Hydro Pump, Payback, all lovely.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/640.png[/IMG] Virizion -Again, haven't seen it so I can't really comment.
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/637.png[/IMG] Volcarona -Easily defeated by SR and Hydro Pump, Sigilyph, Salamence, or Thundurus in the rain.
[IMG]http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a0/Ani461MS.png[/IMG] Weavile -
[IMG]http://veekun.com/dex/media/icons/571.png[/IMG] Zoroark -
...So yeah, that's it. I've attached a recent battle I had that really showed how well each individual played (barring Mamoswine due to tiredness/stupidity on my part x_x) which I thought might interest some people so here you go.
